Depends on your preferences both are acceptable. We are only using the code tag if the text is too much longer to prevent too many characters. For me, it's better in a code tag because it's cleaner to see and not looks like just text.

Still depends on you as much as the address is correct.

What is more comfortable display of Bitcoin address on the forum for you?
Either with the code tag:

Code:
bc1qm79ausau382tfay9kas5nemne55ms04vkreygv

Or with teletype:

bc1qm79ausau382tfay9kas5nemne55ms04vkreygv

But, after all I can read it fine in every way. I just prefer the above two so there can be a differentiation between your text and your address. You could also use the quotation marks. For example:

Quote
I recently received 1.2 BTC to “bc1qm79ausau382tfay9kas5nemne55ms04vkreygv”

Thanks to everyone for the opinion.

However, the code snippet is actually great if you ever have to list a long list of Bitcoin addresses you should use the code snippet to condense the information
I really asked to create such a topic in the future, where there are many addresses.

I recheck this and I think Lovesmayfamilis maybe right cause the BTC was displayed on this by 2 people but Google only provided those that was displayed by the OP and dismiss the one posted by  Invokergods19.

Of course, I don't know the reason.
Look at the second link[1]. Was the address inside a code tag or not?

Google indexes the topic per page as a whole. The sitemap specifies this.

It only depends on personal knowledge, number of the address and time cause people can be busy sometimes to the extent of finding it hard to display their BTC address using the second display method which I believe is the best way to display any BTC address.

If I am not mistaken, the first address is easily searched through a search, which cannot be said about the second.
In general, isn't it all the same how the address is displayed?
There are only requirements of managers for companies that will be comfortable with this or that way of displaying the address.
I do not care.  Grin
Both are treated the same way. Google or any search engine indexes the keywords and putting any keywords into a HTML code makes no difference to the search engine.

To echo others; it doesn't matter beyond personal preference. However, the code snippet is actually great if you ever have to list a long list of Bitcoin addresses you should use the code snippet to condense the information, so it doesn't become tedious for others reading the thread. However, still remains readable to those that want to take a look. This advice probably applies to other things which are long in nature outside of Bitcoin addresses. Its always good practice to include long content in a code snippet.

Both look great to display on forum, but I often use the former whenever I post them. Obviously this just depend on each user's preference whether they like the link, barcode or post it directly without code. So I don't mind how it's displayed because I can display it in multiple ways if needed.

I'll prefer the second one because it is unique than the first one.

Code:
bc1qm79ausau382tfay9kas5nemne55ms04vkreygv
if this is the desplay of our bitcoin address  it's look like one of us is fassionate

The second. But it's really one of those things where it's really not that much of a big deal that you need to spend your time into thinking which one to use, unless you're going to create a huge mega-thread that's going to consist of a good number of addresses. It's like arguing if gif is pronounced as jif or gif.

if i were forced to choose, the second one would be better. at least the risk of a malicious bbcode in between the characters are smaller.

i agree about the qrcode though. if we can easily post it, it would be a good alternative for phone-based users.

Guys, what are the chances that someone would use a QR code to read the address? Most people don't use a Bitcoin wallet on their phone, and even if they do, it isn't so hard to make a QR code themselves. I would probably opt for the former, it looks neater that way. That, or use an URI so that people can click on it.

how about using BIP21 and turning it into a URL that people can click on. all you have to do is to put the word "bitcoin:" (without quotation marks) before of the address and put the whole thing in a url bbcode.

this way it can be clicked and when user who has a bitcoin wallet installed (most of them support this) their wallet will open with the address copied into its payment page.
there are additional things that  you can add to this like a comment or description or amount that you want to be paid for example.

https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0021.mediawiki

here is the example from BIP21: donate to project xyz

The second is better imo. It distinguishes it at brings more attention.
And it's seems more unique since it can be shown like this only on forums.

Both are perfect, so it's a matter of preference. But base on my experience here in the community, I seldom used members using addresses inside the code.

But as far as I can understand and experts can correct me if I'm wrong, I remember one member said that anything that is included in the inside the code is not searchable in Google. And maybe that's why some members prefer to put it that way.

I think it's a matter of personal preference, take me as an example, I don't add the code part because I find it tiresome because I have to do spend additional seconds to do that plus it serves the same purpose so no point doing the other if it has the same purpose.

The one in the bar code is the most unique way of forum bitcoin addresses display, the usual way of typing makes the address look like a text, and it is boring to look at.
