Nothing like healthy scepticism and hard evidence
That depends on showing evidence that the account was indeed stolen. In the past, they required none and always sided with the buyer of Crypto, even when the IP that accessed the account was the same. Only, recently, I read some reports suggesting some slow change.

Giving protection to scammers, that do abusive chargebacks on crypto deals or limiting accounts with stupid pretexts, are impositions of US regulations?

Some of the account login/pw were stolen.

So, they are protecting account owner and not scammer.

I do hate paypal and not only because of their exchange commissions.

One has to have nerve, to return the money to scammers that buy crypto and then do scamming chargebacks. And lets not forget their infamous and abusive limiting of accounts policy, specially the unverified ones.

I agree. Not just commisions...

Chargebacks, unauthorized transactions, frozen accounts, claims to protect both parties (completely a lie) etc..

Not really their fault that they need to comply with US law and enforce regulation.

All these translate to higher fee to everyone.

Unfortunately, because of ebay, I still have to use these scam bags.

But I never have much money there. I'm always expecting another freeze of my account and a blackmail on sending personal documents or something.

Paypal's currency rate is suck. If paypal accept bitcoin as deposit method ( in my opinion no way ), they will exchange bitcoin to dollar with the mininmum %10 rate.

Paypal will use bitcoin as it uses the dollar. Transactions of bitcoin will be inside the paypal system, so they can be reversed, unless paypal allows you to withdraw your bitcoins from their system. Well, I bet paypal will create a series of delays (its infamous "account limited") for people willing to withdraw all their bitcoins.

Personally, I don't think paypal and bitcoin is a good fit. Paypal focus on protecting buyers even when they are in the wrong. Bitcoin on the other hand. Once you're paid, YOU'RE PAID! Also, I have to agree bitpay and coinbase are always getting more and more merchants to accept bitcoin through them so why add paypal to the mix?

It may already be too late for paypal to integrate bitcoin.

Bitpay already reaches out to many merchants.

Well i dont care if paypal adopts bitcoin or not, we dont need those banks extensions in bitcoin, what im expecting is a store chain or restaurant chain to adopt bitcoin or sone place where you can buy things in exchange for btcs

It's exactly what i think, but if big company like ebay will adopt btc to pay goods, probably also more new stores and restaurants, will adopt our loved cryptocurrency, so, for me if this adoption will occurs in a near future, probably we will see a new expansion in btc use.

Paypal adopting bitcoin would be like Stalin marrying Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

I don't think that Paypal will integrate Bitcoin in the near future. But I can see Ebay adding a Coinbase / Bitpay option very soon. During the past 2 months or so, a lot of mid-level and small-level merchants has started accepting Bitcoin payments. Ebay won't be able to ignore Bitcoin for too long.

I think the opposite. Paypal and Ebay working together. If Ebay accept bitcoin directly, Paypal's endorsement will be reduced. In my opinion there is the only way that if Paypal accept bitcoin as deposit method than you can shop in Ebay via bitcoin indirectly.

I am thinking about what advantage does Coinbase + Bitpay have over Paypal?  The key is that the consumer pays the fees instead of the merchant. Thus more merchants will prefer it. Why will customers prefer that?

Then I got to thinking. The problem with Paypal is there are too many competitors. The elite want to control this new digital money system. What if you combined Paypal + Bitpay! Then you can see the founder of Paypal is the main angel investor in Bitpay.

This is all about getting more merchants and customers into the digital fiat system.

Honestly I think if ebay and paypal were to start allowing for bitcoin transactions and maybe paypal would be the escrow of the bitcoin transaction that it would significantly help with bitcoin adoption. However, I personally would not send bitcoin to another person though paypal, if paypal was the escrow. Paypal always favors the buyer and screws the sellers. It is for that reason that while I make purchases on eBay, I would never sell anything of any significant value on ebay due to the fear of chargebacks, reversals or any other BS that the buyers can come up with when they are tired of your product.

Adoption is definitely speeding up. In the last 3 days I have made more bitcoin purchases from newly-accepting online businesses than in the previous 2 months combined. It feels so good to be able to spend bitcoin without ever considering fiat. Eventually I will forget what a dollar looks like.
eBay thinks the digital currency is a threat to PayPal.Perhaps once bitcoin exchanges become more secure and developers near guarantee a safer and more secure bitcoin community then it’s possible that cryptocurrencies will merge with PayPal and others like it.

It's well known in the virtual currency world that using PayPal is a recipe for disaster - many have fallen foul of the problems with PayPal which it is particularly vulnerable to.
I have stopped selling anything on Ebay because of Paypal. The link between Paypal and Ebay, to my mind, only benefits both of them, and as a seller, you are the one who suffers when things go wrong.

Pay pal can give away free bit coin and I would not accept it. They are a poster child for the problems with our current monetary system.

A lot of threads like these, Firstly PayPal was ignoring bitcoin and taking actions against It, but they understand that bitcoin has a big potential to go much bigger and It would be very big competitor for them so the smartest thing Is to be in one side with It, so I have no doubt that In the future they'' have to "adopt" It.

This is probably the 10th thread on the subject  Cheesy, but it's kinda exaggerated and not as exciting as it seems. It was just a brief mention that they were merely keeping their eye on it, as are probably most big businesses, and if they're not then the should be. Still, I'm glad of any mention from them, but to get excited about it is a probably a bit premature.
