That sounds shockingly high from my experience. Maybe someone else can chime in and tell us just exactly how much a new user should expect to consume bandwidth wise when first joining Bitcoin?

Mining is extremely low-bandwidth. I checked the network stats on one of my miners, it shows 9.7mb over 12 hours.

That seems high, but I suppose it's possible. New clients download the block chain from the network (it's about 300 MB), and you could have had several new clients try to download from you.

Hi everyone, I was looking through my internet usage records and I noticed a period of roughly 20 or 30 minutes where I uploaded 10 gigs.  This was a period of time while I was at school.
So I was wondering if anything to bitcoin could cause a huge use of bandwidth like that.

Any Ideas?
