Thanks for these, this one is very useful:

http://blockchain.info/charts

Does anyone have any indicators of:

    1. The number of Bitcoin users in existence?
    2. The % other altcoins represent of the total crypto economy or relative to Bitcoin?

one of my favorite: http://bitcoinrichlist.com/charts/bitcoin-distribution-by-address

this show that on 7 May, the majority (nearly 95%) of bitcoin addresses are worthless, more or less. Only around 1.5% of addresses hold any significant value (>1BTC)

If accurate, that's staggering.

I have no reason to doubt its accuracy.

According to the site's FAQ, results are obtained via https://github.com/znort987/blockparser

But what it doesn't tell us is anything about wallets.
If I've been paid 0.1 btc to 20 different addresses, my wallet has 2 btc but shows up as 20 "worthless" addresses in that useless table.

The MultiBit download stats are available here:
https://multibit.org/awstats/awstats.pl?config=multibit.org

They are updated hourly. I normally go to the bottom and look at the actual MB downloaded and divide by the size of the installer (about 10 MB). These figures are the number of downloads so they can either be people upgrading or new users.

The geoip information on that summary page is to be taken with a pinch of salt - I haven't even bothered downloading an accurate geoip database to make them deliberately vague - but they are quite interesting nonetheless.

There is also a very useful chart in the blockchain.info charts page for "Bitcoin My Wallet Number of Users"

Does anyone know where I can get good data on the numbers of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency users and usage?

There were some really good stats at bitnodes.io but this seems to have been taken down now Sad. Does anyone know if there is another copy up anywhere?

I'm trying to locate fact based figures for measures such as:

    • Number of cryptocurrency clients downloaded. I have this for Bitcoin-QT on sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/stats/map?dates=2013-05-01%20to%202013-05-19) any other stats for other wallets and cryptocurrencies would be appreciated.

    • Number of users on: Bitstamp, MTGOX, Vircurex, BTCe etc.

    • Stats on miner and wallet nodes on a given cryptocurrency network.

    • Any other stats that may be available.

Thanks.
