step 1: buy a raspberry Pi
step 2: use that purely as your wallet client
step 3: no games, no free downloads, or other risky stuff
step 4: use main pc for junk and mining control with it set to send rewards to bitcoin address only the Pi knows the privkey of
step 5: never link the 2 units together and remember to follow steps 2&3 at all times

Not using windows?

Might be, and I'm not into this but don't you think they make viruses for ubuntu/linux and mac as well? I mean the most miners with gear are running linux based systems

What do you do to protect yourself ?  Huh  Roll Eyes
1. Only installing programs I really need
2. Not installing cracked full versions
3. Trying out unknown software only in virtual machines

Hi all,

I was just wondering how dangerous the viruses are nowadays. Some forums are writing about them but couldn't find that much on this forum.
Example link: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=110440

If some 'genius' would be infecting thousands and thousands of computers, would he be able to keep up the mining devices speeds? Or are mining devices easily 'captured' by these kinds of viruses as well? I wonder, because if they could possibly get half of the mining power I read somewhere it's dangerous to the existence of Bitcoin in general.
