Hi everyone. This is my first post here, I just want to chime in on the discussion. Not as a troll but to raise some what I see a valid point about Gavins visit and communications with the CIA. I hope it doesn't violate the rules around here, if so please delete.
I found out about Gavins meeting on YouTube at the 11:15 mark here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv4q4i2Ktd0&feature=relatedI wanted to pose a questions about this to the community. My first impression is, what will other countries looking to Bitcoin think of this? Particularly in the middle east? These countries that loathe the US government, in particular the CIA for meddling in their affairs. They have a HUGE distrust of us already, and they stand to gain the most I believe from Bitcoin.
It's a political question, but now the world knows the CIA is at the least mingling with Gavin on the side and could offer a large sum of money through In-Q-Tel to grow the program. Will it cast doubt on what is a revolutionary currency? I think Bitcoin works best not because it works along with government, but without it. I think the move hurts Bitcoin.
