i mined the bitcoin. which is why i was fed up. so yes. that .0005 should goto me.
Other people are mining the verification of your transaction, so it should go to them.

Who cares about 0.0005 doesnt go to miners that the network needs anyway ?

There are older versions of the client (v0.3.20, for instance) which didn't do fee checking but your transaction could end up in the queue for a while (hours to a day or two, depending on the queue).

Small transactions or ones that are composed of many small coins sometimes need a transaction fee.  This is to prevent people from abusing the network by flooding small, complicated transactions.

If you post your wallet address we can look at blockexplorer and give you a better idea what's happening, or you can just pay the fee.

this transaction is over this size limit. you can still send it for a fee of .0005?HuhHuh WTF?Huh?? sending a mined coint to mtgox.com....
