Bump -- anyone found a better option than the $600 appraisal (that I assume everyone finds when they google this)?

I will do your appraisal for free.  We are trying to encourage wider adoption of this tax technique which can save significant taxes and encourage more coin usage.  The rules are surprising tricky  in this tax law area and even if you paid $600 you might have some problems in the future.  I'm new to this board so I'm not sure about the solicitation rules when offering free help.

You can contact me via our volunteer charity website.  My volunteer work is in interesting tax incentives for donors.  I have participated in many form 8283 donations.

The charity needs to receive your donation in a wallet or you don't need an appraisal as you would report a bitcoin capital gain and a cash donation.

I want to make a charitable donation in bitcoin.  However, it seems that I need to get a third-party appraisal from a qualified appraiser for the bitcoin value in order for the donation to be tax-deductible.  The cheapest one I can find costs $600.  This seems quite expensive considering bitcoin isn't hard to appraise (a few minutes on the internet would do).  Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative?

Thank you very much.
