There was a website, but now it is gone:
http://bitlegal.net/

It displayed the map of the whole Earth and the current legal status of Bitcoin for each country. It was quite often updated. I'm not sure what happened.
The main players are Russia and China. The rest you can find here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country

Maybe bitlegal.net got banned.

How many places have banned bitcoin to date?
How effective is the ban(s)?
Can Bitcoin be stopped by government(s) and how?

I initially wanted to just joke on this thread to get my post count higher, but I would like to hear some opinions on the subject of the (possible)  threat "they" might be, and what we can do to make the threat less likely.

Thank you if you reply, and feel free to follow my initial idea of turning this into a joke thread filled with Memes  Wink
