I don't know mate, it looks like John is really up to something. I mean he wanted to stay relevant, even wanting to run for the US Presidency. So I don't know if we really have to trust every time he open his mouth, in my opinion. If IRS wanted to sue him or go against him, they could have make a case years ago.
I am not sure McAfee has in mind to run for USA president and I think he is trying to prove to them that whatever they know he also know. We have a government that did not want a "decentralized financial system" like bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and McAfee is one of the leading personalities on this and to me that is why they are trying to silent him.

The IRS can't come after anybody. It's always a man/ who comes after you. Almost 100 percent of the IRS cases, the indictment says THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA vs. somebody. Require to face your accuser, and get the THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on the stand. Oops! No can do because THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is paperwork and can't take the stand. Case dismissed because the accuser didn't show up and take the stand.

In a dizzying weekend Twitter rant, McAfee claimed that the Department of Justice is compiling a bogus case against him for money-laundering, racketeering, and murder.

McAfee warned that if the feds don’t leave him alone, he’ll drop several bombshells that will reveal mass corruption within the government. So they’d better back off — or else.

If it’s true that federal agents are trying to hunt McAfee down, it’s presumably because he admitted that he hasn’t paid taxes for almost a decade.
