Most of these coins that are born as forks of bitcoin are immediately distributed the moment the chain starts the software change and usually you will get the same amount that you had in the original coin. If you had 10 bitcoin you would get 10 BCH and they will be exactly at the same address of your original bitcoin and you can use the same key to move them and transact in the forked chain. It is just a question of using whatever tool you want to use to broadcast your transaction to the forked nodes.

I agree with what you explained but to my knowledge the name for getting free coins definitely takes time to wait and follow the rules in order to get the free coins, so that the name free coins don't exist, it's just useless without working just like filling out forms at least

So. What I need to do to split Bitcoin cash from ledger nano?
Do u know step by step? Smiley
Have you read my post above: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.57911601
those all the steps, choose the one.

1. here to bsv; https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012270054-Bitcoin-SV-BSV-?docs=true
2. here for bch; https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005174789-Bitcoin-Cash-BCH-?docs=true

have you tried the way @DroomieChikito pointed out?
I think that's the correct way to make a claim which can't be accepted automatically due to wallets that are not supported by hard fork coins.
I haven't, I don't have coins to claim.
it can automatically show forked coins when connecting with the correct way. but of course with different wallet electrum SV and electrum Cash

Thanx to all!
But I can’t find information about coins (it’s forked to Bitcoin SV (bsv), Bitcoin cash ABC (bcha), and remains Bitcoin cash (BCH))

So in output we have + 2 coins (Bitcoin Sv and Bitcoin cash abc) ?
Do u have stap by step how I can receive it?

p.s. Sorry for bad eng

And also be careful in the process there are lots of phishing sites that can mean you won't get anything.

I think free coins from hard fork will be generated automatically if they are eligible. They will immediately send it to the wallet that holds BCH with a predetermined minimum balance. Apart from that, you need to claim by logging into the wallet using a connection with the Ledger wallet.
They are automatically credited on your wallet but you still need to generate it on your own if your wallet doesn't support it.
That is why you have to send it to another wallet that supports the fork for you to claim the free coin.

BTW i think BSV now called XEC.
I just knew about that, good for them, they must remove the bitcoin word from the project. I heard also that project will carry a new POS scheme, Every 1 BSV will calculate ration 1 Million XEC.

As you have to know ledger live doesn't support BSV. and the ledger wallet is a hardware wallet, which means need a third software application to use it. not just claim by login or something connection, you must be careful about that, maybe you will get the trap by phishing site.

So, how I can get free coins, to my ledger nano x?
Thank u! ❤️❤️❤️
If you remember your address or receipt you got when you held your coins, research any block explorer that supports multiple chains (blockchair.com) to make sure you have the money and that it's worth a try.
Withdraw all your balance from your BCH address.
now use iancoleman.io to get the private key and then you can import it to any SV wallet.

BTW i think BSV now called XEC.

first, move this thread into altcoin board.

1. Just Connect your ledger wallet into electrum SV, you must download the software first.

https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012270054-Bitcoin-SV-BSV-?docs=true

2. another way, import your seed into exodus wallet. (exodus doesn't support ledger wallet).

3. another way 2, If you have a seed, just get the private key using iancoleman.io (offline) and choose BSV, get the private key below which is your own BCH before. same, as above, import the private key into bsv wallet.

for attention, before doing that (3 ways) you must send your fund into a new wallet. I mean old seed is useless, sweep at all into a new wallet (reset your ledger) https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019095214-Reset-to-factory-settings?docs=true
