You can export your private key from address with BTC at the fork time! Import it to new BCH wallet! But for security, you need sent all BTC to other wallet before you import!

Problem solved.

1.) Open Debug Window in your wallet
2.) type listaddressgroupings
3.) check every address for its balance https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin%20cash/
4.) if address has some coins in it type dumppkey + address
5.) now you have the private key
6.) sweep it into Coinomi wallet

Thanks for the help !

Hi,
I still had some bitcoins on an old bitcoin core wallet.
What is the best procedure to obtain bitcoin cash, I would really apprecciate some suggestions, as I am very worried to screw it up  Wink

Can I just install another wallet and transfer it to it, so I have on one wallet bitcoin core and on the other wallet bitcoin cash ?
Thanks !

first of all you need to have a wallet that hold bitcoin before the fork and all the way up to the fork, otherwise it's not possible, you get an empty wallet if you import to bitcoin cash, then you just do, dumpprivatekey and import to bitcoin  cash with importprivatekey command

Thanks. Of course there were some bitcoins in the wallet Smiley
I moved them on the 2nd of August to another wallet.

I used many different addresses and tried to figure out the privatkey. I all tried them, but unfortunately Coinomi keeps telling me "The private key does not contain any funds".

I checked every address manually, and it shows me that three different addresses contain 0.416 BCH this is also very strange as I had way more bitcoins in my wallet. Huh Cry Cry

Is there maybe another way, that I copy the wallet.dat in a Bitcoin Cash wallet or something else?

Does nobody have an idea ?

get COINOMI wallet app, select BCH (Bitcoin Cash) and scan the code, you should get your BitcoinCash.

I did it from a paper wallet.
Blockchain for BTC
Coinomi for BCH

Thanks @odolvlobo unfortunately haven't found the right one, yet.

listaddressgroupings should give you addresses with their balance
Nice idea, but it shows me a listof my addresses unfortunately all of them are empty. I assume this command only lists bitcoin values and not bitcoin cash. This seems to be the big problem.

I took the first address that I have ever used with this wallet and it seems I found the private key.
Before I sent all my funds to another account and now i tried to import my privatekey to Coinomi wallet.

Unfortunately I receive this message: "The private key does not contain any funds"

I am somehow clueless, what did I do wrong ? And how can I redeem my funds ? Undecided

I know exactly what you are talking about. A wallet contains many addresses. (That is why the term "wallet address" is wrong.) Unfortunately, I haven't used Bitcoin Core in a long time so I don't remember how to get the addresses with bitcoin coins in them. Take a look at the debug commands to see if there is an appropriate one.

Thanks @odolvlobo
I did step 1-3, but unfortunately I am struggeling at step 3. (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/aug-1-summary-2059111)

I am following this guide in order to find my private key:

1.Launch your bitcoin client
2.Click on 'help' in the menu bar (top right)
3.Click on 'debug window'
4.Select the 'console' tab
5.If your wallet is protected by a passphrase (i.e you have to enter a passphrase before you can send) unlock it by typing
walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600
dumpprivkey [your Bitcoin address here]
This will return the private key which will start with the number 5

The problem is, how can I find my Bitcoin address for step 5 "dumpprivkey [your Bitcoin address here]", I used so many different addresses for receiving and sending. I really would apprecciate any help.
Thanks.

I'm actually in the same boat.

The instructions so far I've seen  have been loose/unclear for those wanting to be super cautious. Those that make videos on youtube for ads - I bet the first one that does a BTC-core to BCC step by step screen cap is going to get a ton of views/some ad money and it would help users be less fearful; especially if they hold large amounts.
