21 is way too young to die, very sad news   I extend my condolences to his loved ones.

Without meaning to appear rude, how did he die?

My deepest condolences to his family. How is that his death is only public several days later ?  Great loss for the Bitcoin Center NYC to lose its Chief Technology Officer but I hope that the one who will replace him in this post is as enthusiastic as Andrew was. Centers like this helps in growing the number of users aware of bitcoin and we all must support these initiatives with all that we can. I am sorry again for such a big loss to the bitcoin community.

It's always sad to see young people dying before they even started their career and their life. It is even worst when a young guy with so much drive for Bitcoin and a passion to make it succeed, pass away. My condolences to everyone that has known him and a huge thank you from the community for what he has done. ^RIP^

I have not heard of him. But my condolences to him and his family. It is so sad to see someone go at such a young age. RIP.

My condolences to the bereaved family of Mr Andrew Martin.  I sincerely do not know him and I just google it to see if this article is true.  And yes, he died at a very young age of 21 without any reason yet.  So sad that at his very young age he could do more a lot.  He could be the next forbes billionaire in the next years.  It is nice to know that he is so young and yet he has already this reputation for bitcoiners around the world.  I will continue to be updated on this thing.

One odd thing was the death occurred last month.  Why'd it take 3 weeks to be in the news?

The Bitcoin Center in New York City has been one of the most prominent places to discuss and trade cryptocurrency every week. Over the years this location has grown out from a niche crowd to attracting people from all over the city and beyond. Andrew Martin, CTO of Bitcoin Center NYC, was one of the driving forces behind this project. Unfortunately, Andrew passed away a few weeks ago. A funeral mass will be held shortly.

ANDREW MARTIN PASSED AWAY FAR TOO SOON

The Bitcoin community is filled with people from all ages and strides of life.Young, old, veteran, novice, developers, writers, artists, and the likes, we all share the same passion for Bitcoin. Some of us decide to take things to the new level and help run a Bitcoin Center, such as the one in New York City.

Andrew Martin, a founding member of the Bitcoin Center NYC and Chief Technology Officer of this initiative, came to pass on July 21, 2016. Although the details regarding this event were not disclosed – and we can all respect that – it is sad to see a 21-year old Bitcoin enthusiast taken away from us.

Even though it has been a few weeks since Andrew’s passing, the Bitcoin Center NYC team has decided to hold a funeral mass at the Greek Orthodox St. Ignatius Loyola Church later today. Anyone who is interested in attending the event can do so, although RSVPing through the Meetup page may not be a bad idea.
