This morning a response from Bitcoin-Central and this afternoon, my money/btc is returned to me.  A year is still too long to settle an account, but credit to David for fixing the problem and honoring their debt. Thank you.

http://thebitcoinnews.co.uk/2014/04/13/bitcoin-central-net-insolvent-the-french-bitcoin-association-and-the-relation-to-mtgox/

Whole thread about their previous business where they stole A LOT of Bitcoins!

You have been warned, before they get "hacked" again and take your Bitcoins!

The main thief, David Francois (DAVOUT) is a moderator for the french part of strange enough, a post of mine related to warning the community about the thieves that own BITCOIN-CENTRAL (same persons as INSTAWALLET), was deleted this wknd.

Just a heads up for non-Eurozone customers who may have Bitcoin-Central accounts.  I first starting buying btc from Bitcoin-Central in approximately Feb of 2013.  Immediately verified completely.  In general, except for two shutdowns (reported as possible hack/bug problems), had a successful relationship with them.

Bitcoin-Central returned online from each suspension of services.  This was true until their last re-incarnation.  At that point, I was asked to verify again and after several false starts at trying to do so was told that the exchange could not serve non-Eurozone resident customers any longer.  OK.  Give me my remaining euros back or buy btc with it and send me that.  OK, no problem says Bitcoin-Central, it's coming to you any minute now, err, any month now.

Over one year later -- after many emails sent to them many times, I get the same stock email that I got at the beginning of this saga.  I have all the emails, but they are repetitive and boring and attempts to obfuscate.  My intent here is to alert members of the bitcoin community to potential problems.

Pitiful my French friends, pitiful.
