503 error, when was this ?

What have we stolen exactly ?

The 503 was happening early on Sunday morning around 7 AM (GMT).

I have withdrawn my accusation, it was an expression of the Anger I felt because you seemed to be doing a runner so-to-speak having been out of contact for such a relatively long time ... and then the appearance that your website had been 'taken down' was a sort of confirmation that things had gone bad !

-------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT (30th August) : At the time I wasn't aware your website was dependent upon the "Shopify" network and just now I've looked back at their Server Status history at https://status.shopify.com/history and found this little nugget of information :

An issue in one of our database servers rendered our core applications out of service for eleven minutes
An issue in one of our database servers rendered our core applications out of service from 2:37 AM EST to 2:48 AM EST
Jul 27, 03:07 EDT

Which just so happens to be in the time-window I was unable to access GroupBitcoin.com !

It appears the "Largest Bitcoin Mine In The UK" otherwise known as "Group Bitcoin" has either gone out of business or were never a business in the first place ?

After a little digging around it seems their registered address of 145-157 ST JOHN STREET, LONDON, EC1V 4PW (taken from http://www.groupbitcoin.com/pages/contact-us) is actually the address of a company called "Sedus Stoll" (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sedus+toll&oq=sedus+toll#q=sedus+stoll+ec1v+4du) or perhaps they share the premises ?

Hopefully I'm wrong but there's been no answer from their telephone number nor their email address for some time now ...

Hey "Group Bitcoin" >>> Is Anyone Home Huh

P.S. Has anybody actually visited their Mine said to be somewhere in Essex ?

Hello there,

We've been in business since October 2013 and we still are. We had someone code something to send us a few thousand blank emails, a few hundred pages mixed in with genuine customer emails. We've been working through it this weekend.

We will be in the office tomorrow if you'd like to give us a call on our main number, emails should be replied to by now.

Regards,

Just a quick note, alongside 'mining now' we're now also offering Pre Orders again from only $1.17 per GH/s

They Start September or a full unconditional refund is available.

http://www.groupbitcoin.com/products/group-bitcoin-cloud-mining-pre-order

We've also just got our electricity costs down on a bulk tariff which should be in effect for these new contracts. Standard terms apply.

Hello,

Thanks for your message the facility is in the UK near London the address is private for security but Colocation customers can come and visit and members with over 1TH/s on cloud mining can too.

The cost of a diesel generator capable of powering everything on our small scale would massively out way any benefits given the reliability of the grid. The same goes for a gaseous fire suppression system which I think you were talking about. The sever room is built from metal stud work and fire board there's nothing to burn apart from the board in a miner, every power lead is fuse protected and there's 24/7 remotely monitored fire alarm systems.

The Insurance covers the value of the hardware against fire and theft.

We have 24/7 access to resolve any issues currently we are trying to get Uk Power Networks to have more power supplied to the building to increase the total capacity above 6 x 96amp 42u cabinets.

Power is delivered to each rack via 3 surge protected 32amp pdu's balanced across 3 phase. We have spent considerable effort on cooling and security.

And finally yes we have the relevant expertise to run our facility. Many years in IT and mining for over a year now.

Thanks,

Thanks for the quick reply, I dropped you a message earlier through the site too. Depending on what the costs are like I might pop over on Wednesday and take a look assuming you're around.

- What are the provisions for backup power, fire suppression and network connectivity to the site?
- Do you have insurances to cover the equipment that would be collocated in the facility?
- Does the facility have 24x7 access or engineers onsite to resolve issues with miners?

Separately.. You say 252u of rackspace, this is around 6 full racks. I also assume that the 'tunnel' in the picture below is just a wall print so what are future expansion options at the facility?

96 Amps of power at 230v is 22KW, how are you delivering this to the rack? Also how is the cooling provisioned to dissipate that much heat?

Interesting, would you be able to confirm a few things:

- Where is the data centre located?
- Who is running the DC, do they have relevant DC experience?

Hello I have just now paid for over 100 ghs my first order..wish me luck..  #1522    Jun 17, 2014    pending    $300.90 USD

As I grow I may do colocation as well if I purchase a second rig down the road. I am in process of buying one rig will stay in my Friend's house but if I ever get to buy  second one at least I know where to house it. I have no clue about running a rig so if I buy a rig and you receive it your end do you turn it on for me to hash as well? Grin

Thanks for choosing us and welcome, Yes we set them up and rack mount them, you can have remote access to monitor and direct them to a pool.

Dear Bitcoin Community,

We have just finished our new mine and launched our new site, here's some more information about our Cloud Mining and Colocation service as requested in another Topic.

Cloud Mining
We have always had a problem with the fact that Cloud Mining providers generally charge almost everything upfront, their profit, running costs, everything in the initial cost per GH/s, some even charge an additional ongoing % management fee. They're basically betting against Bitcoin by saying you give us £ or $ now to run for a year and hopefully you receive more btc back, it doesn't effect us we've already made our money.

Well we've decided to do things a bit differently on our new site, we charge the cost price of the hardware as the initial one off cost per GH/s including any relevant import taxes, shipping costs, one months running costs and any additional equipment required, PDU's, server cabinet accessories, shelves etc.

This hardware is then run 24/7 and at the end of each month we take the running costs (our standard Colocation fees) for the next month of mining from the pool of mined coins divided between members. This means we can run hardware indefinitely there's no fixed end date as you would do at home, run the hardware until it's redundant, until it can't pay it's monthly running costs but you can do all this with a 1GH/s share using the latest ASIC hardware.

We can currently offer contracts from 1GH/s up to 8TH/s. Using our new method we can start contracts instantly, offer a far lower cost per GH/s, no fixed end date and lower entry levels.

We make our money from mining, from selling our rack space. not from betting against it.

06/06/14 From only $2.80 per GH/s or $1.47 on Pre Order http://www.groupbitcoin.com/products/bitcoin-mining-contracts

Colocation
We now also offer a colocation service to everyone where you can host your hardware in our UK mining facility, the largest in the UK. From only £25 per ‘u’ per month it’s also great value, electricity at cost price 18p per Kwh (the UK average). High power density (96 amps at 230v per cabinet) which is needed for mining hardware and generally isn’t available elsewhere, raised access floor, contained cold aisle with powerful cooling and 24/7 security systems. Extensive internal physical barriers, man trap entry system, CCTV and 24/7 remotely monitored alarms, Perimeter fencing monitored by a security company which is locked at night. Backup internet connections and cat5e cabling which we make ourselves for each switch/cabinet. Platinum members are more than welcome to come visit our mine, a maximum of two people and government issued photo ID is required (Passport or Driving License) contact us for full details.

Our current offer is £25 per ‘u’ of rack space per month, pre paid for 6 months.

In the Bitcoin world at the moment nothing is quite as important as a companies legitimacy. We've been going since October 2013 and have seen many other sites and competitors come and go for various reasons. We're open and transparent with clear terms of service. Our systems are secure and our site cannot be hacked of it's coins as we currently do manual monthly payouts. Support by phone, email and live chat. We're a registered UK Limited Company No. 08826900. We are one of... if not the only Cloud Mining company to show pictures, allow customers to come visit us and the mine. Few people realized the work and the facility needed to run TH/s of mining power. The pictures on our site are our own, we don't use pictures from Google images of data centers.

Lots of our customers were scammed by things like Bitcominers who claimed to have almost 1000TH/s. In order to do this you would need your own sub station in the UK or a huge extremely expensive Colocation deal at a new empty data center, basically they weren't mining and never planned to.

Our site reviews are through Yotpo which verifies people through their FB/Twitter accounts http://www.groupbitcoin.com/pages/customer-reviews
