Has anyone else noticed that Humble Bundle removed the paying with bitcoin option at checkout? I bought some bundles and I had to use PayPal for the purchase.
I'm not sure how this is relevant to the topic but I'll answer.

Bitcoin is available as a purchase option whenever US Dollars are listed. Users from Europe may not see Bitcoin listed as an option in the Humble Store where prices are listed in Pounds and Euros.
It also depends on the publisher that they're working with. They can tell them not to list Bitcoin as a payment option.

Maybe its not big news for you but it is for the gamers who play there, they would be able to purchase items much easily and its a start, others might follow soon. Altogether, great news for Bitcoin.
As I've already stated, these games have a lot of players. However, Riot has the most players at the moment.

exited about Wargaming.net accepting Bitcoin via BitPay. The MMO market is huge and Bitcoin and Gaming is well suited for each other. {micro payments}
Bitcoin was never and will never be suited for micropayments. However, I don't understand how you consider e.g. 30$, 50$ and 60$ to be micro payments (WoT packages)?

I would love it if Steam integrates bitcoin in their payment options and also other online game shops like G2A and GOG. This will bring good publicity for Bitcoin being associated with thriving businesses.

Well the closest you could get to that for now is if you use these types of sites ---> http://steamgamesbtc.com/ or https://steambitshop.com/ .. I must

be honest, I have not used them before, but I just saw someone speak about it a while ago on Reddit. Check them out on your own risk. I am very

Wargaming? I don't play any of games by Wargaming Sad

It's great news, but i would love to spend my bitcoin if steam/valve accept bitcoin as payment Smiley
Bitcoiners would spend their bitcoin on DOTA 2 & CS:GO items if they accept bitcoin Grin

It seems we are all thinking the same. It's some good news but nothing big.
If steam however would accept Bitcoin as additional payment option this would be really great news.
I'm still hoping it will happen sooner or later.Fingers crossed!

I hope this will be successful but games might have varying bitcoin rewards if they will be dependent on the real world value. But I hope that it becomes successful so major companies will adopt them once they notice the interests in the system.

This is good news.  I'm playing World of Warships on my second monitor as I browse this forum.  Smiley
It is quite a good game for those who like ships and naval warfare. I have tried it in the past.

How would that actually work? People would get cryptos for playing games based on the time they spend? Or there would be competitions inside the games?
These games are free to play (some call them pay to win). There are in-game items and currencies that can be bought with money (this is the main source of money for such companies). Bitcoin was added as a payment method.

If Steam and Riot start accepting Bitcoin that would be really huge.

Yea. Then it would be easier to watch out for Steam sale. Less hassle for anyone else!

After this we may see some good buy force coming from united states causing some pump in the price which everybody wants.
This could be one of the good big thing for bitcoin this year.
It would be great that it will help to pump the price but i wonder if how many of them only knew about btc.

This is excellent news for us, but I wonder what will motivate Credit card users to move from CC's to Bitcoin? I can see a lot of users who are already into Bitcoin using this option, but no reason for Credit card users to shift to Bitcoin as a payment method?

I used to play a lot of MMO's when I was younger, but my time management with a family does not allow for that anymore. I think I will join up and play when I am away with work in the field. ^smile^

Let's support this initiative people.

I like this news because I think it will spread awareness of Bitcoin to a lot of people playing games that previously may never have heard of it or had any interest in it. Now they will know of it and want it because they know it can help them in the game and maybe even become interested beyond that.

Gaming has been one of bitcoin's most promising markets, as we've seen from a year of working with merchants and technology partners in the space. Today we're happy to announce the addition of one the most prominent names in online gaming: Wargaming.net.

Wargaming is the creator of 15 titles in strategy-based massively-multiplayer online (MMO) gaming, including World of Tanks, World of Warships, and World of Warplanes. The company's games are all free to play, and players can customize their gaming with new weapons and vehicles. Now players in the United States can use bitcoin to get the virtual gold that serves as Wargaming's currency for in-game power-ups in World of Tanks, World of Warships, and World of Warplanes.

Finally some positive news. It has been a while since a big name started accepting Bitcoin. Apparently there are more than 75 million registered users on World of Tanks alone (I've yet to find a better and newer source on this number).
