A brief update for you guys.  Traffic is growing nicely, and Facebook likes are accumulating amazingly fast since I have put the "like" button up.

I am now looking for writers to create original content for the site.

If you are active in the Bitcoin community, especially /r/bitcoin on reddit, and would like a platform to share your thoughts about Bitcoin with the world, please contact me.

Not bad so far. Maybe consider linking relevant material in your point-by-point case for bitcoin for people who want a better understanding.

Fill Your Barrel with Bitcoins!
It's a very good domain name to say the least. You could add a chatroom for now to get people coming back. Best of luck with your new site!  Smiley

I'm not really looking to monetize the site at the moment.  The priority is building a solid site for people interested in Bitcoin, adding useful features, and ironing out the bugs.

Ever thought of putting up advertisements on the side? If this site takes off, you could really make some decent cash off of the advertisements.

Firebase provides the json files for the widget, and as far as I know that data comes directly from Coinbase.  It should be pretty stable, because big apps rely on them too.

If you haven't heard, bitco.in was finally launched yesterday.  Right now it's serving a simple price quote widget and will soon expand to more advanced tools, with charts and currency conversion.
"Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status 404 (Not Found), https://cdn.firebase.com/v0/firebase.js"

Then the price quote widget does not work.

Good luck and bfree!

In case you haven't heard, bitco.in finally launched yesterday.  Right now it's serving a simple price quote widget and will soon expand to more advanced tools, with charts and currency conversion.

The purpose of this site is really to promote Bitcoin, so any suggestions from the community are appreciated, both regarding content and site design.  Ideally, the site should provide something for the general public that doesn't use Bitcoin yet (hence the price quotes, because most people unfamiliar with Bitcoin are mainly interested in the price right now), as well as established Bitcoin users.

I think most of the work will be reaching that balance of simple vs advanced in order to become a really great and useful Bitcoin site.  So any contributions are welcome.

P.S. If you are a Google Plus or Facebook user, your likes and +1's would also be very helpful.  Smiley
