giving people the freedom of anonymity and the choice of linking a public address to their identity should go side by side.

EG having a website where people sign up to with real world details and be given an address that is tagged to their identity. much like how blockchain.info is tagging addresses, is the way to go.

merchants can then set it so they only accept tagged addresses or any address.

users can choose to sign up to a tagging webwallet or not.

there should be no forcing of either.

so that it is like real life, imagine where the local walmart / 711 only accepted card payments and asked for ID for every transaction. right now offering cash or card and only asking for ID for alcohol/cigarettes for those that the store does not know the age for is a freedom of choice.

I was thinking of how the public may be motivated to perceive Bitcoin in a better and more attractive light.

And I came to the personal conclusion that a well-designed 'outward identity' would serve the community well in improving perception and value.

Now everyone remains free to use Bitcoin in whatever way they feel, but if I were to present Bitcoin to anybody on a business or, generally, any social communicational level I'd want Bitcoin to be seen as having the highest possible display of value as compared to any competing product or service. I mean, you should aim for nothing less than excellence, right?

So, how do we do it?

I came up with some idea over what the 'official' color of Bitcoin can be. And I draw from what's already there. So no big deal.

And once we have a direction like that we can easily expand to more advanced improvements of our public appeal and performance. What do you think?
