Hi, good news, Bitcoin Core 0.15 is now released for Ubuntu.

It has not been published for other OS neither in the official download page.

I notice there's a new initial step:

I quote from [mod edit: link removed]

"The first time you run version 0.15.0, your chainstate database will be converted to a new format, which will take anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour, depending on the speed of your machine."

have fun and UPDATE! Smiley

No it hasn't. Do not believe this.  Only rc's are available, although it is very close and has been tagged.

Nothing of what I've said is false.

The official Download section from Bitcoin is not updated but Ubuntu's launchpad has it to 0.15
I downloaded it from the official ppa. I'm not trying to scam no one

Anyway keep waiting for it...

Just writing some code
Bitcoin Core 0.15.0 has not been officially released yet. It is not officially released yet until the binaries are posted to bitcoin.org and Wladimir (the release maintainer) sends out a PGP signed email to the bitcoin-core-dev and bitcon-dev mailing lists. Do not download binaries from any site claiming to have the official release binaries; those may be malware. The only place you should ever be downloading Bitcoin Core releases are from bitcoin.org or bitcoincore.org. And you should always be verifying the binaries when you download them.

I have removed the links from the posts for safety. AFAIK the link is not malicious, it belongs to David Harding, one of the contributors to bitcoincore.org and bitcoin.org. The site linked is his development site for bitcoincore.org. There are no actual binaries posted there, just the release notes and post which Harding is writing.

this page looks alot like https://bitcoincore.org/, and this one: I don't see it somehow protected or secured...
better double check to trust the information on this page.
