Have you heard of Electrum?? it's a bitcoin wallet that doesn't need the blockchain downloading.

+1 for Electrum.
Unlike Multibit, it is a deterministic wallet and so you only need to make just 1 backup of your wallet seed no matter how many addresses you create and use.

Downloading the blockchain from the start will take a huge amount of time depending on your connection,
but you can buy a usb stick with the chain in it in the market section Smiley

I'm not familiar with multibit, but there's probably a button named "Backup Wallet", or "Export private keys", or something similar.

Yea I found it , thank you

If you are currently using Bitcoin core you will want to make a backup of the file "wallet.dat". It is important to do this because if that file is lost or corrupted then you will lose your bitcoin. I recommend several copies. You can find this file by typing
Code:
%appdata%
in the run box in windows. If you use Linux it can be found in the hidden file
Code:
home folder/.bitcoin
. I forget where it is in mac.

The file may be named something else in multibit and the core wallet may not be compatible, but once you have a backup copy you always have a way to get to your bitcoins. Make a backup before you do anything else.

You don't need to use that wallet, you can use Multibit which doesn't download the blockchain. The online wallet on Blockchain.info is fine too.
