The only problem I have in installing Bitcoin Core in my machine is the long download time of the block chain. Because of slow internet, it will take me weeks to complete the download. Tried the torrent, even that will take me a week or so of synchronization. Sad

I can see where that would be a problem for somebody with slow internet or data caps.

Luckily The Bitcoin Core Developers have been making headway in regards to the speed at which the blockchain downloads.

That's good to hear since loading the full blockchain takes a while on my PC
Still using a pre 0.10 edition myself so will need to upgrade soon

You dont need to download the data again after an update. The existing data will be used its just the executable part of bitcoin core that is replaced.

@dothebeats you could probably buy a USB stick or set of DVDs with the bootstrap.dat. As long as your connection is fast enough to stay synced it would only require you to download a few days worth of blockchain data.

If that possible to download the synchronization data manually? I mean, download it with Torrent?

I assume you are referring to the blockchain?

As of version 0.10.0 it is actually faster to download the blockchain directly with Bitcoin Core instead of the via the torrent.

If you would like to download Bitcoin Core via a torrent that link is here: https://bitcoin.org/bin/bitcoin-core-0.10.2/bitcoin-0.10.2.torrent

I hope this helps.

That's what I meant, the Blockchain. Grin
So, it's faster to download with the bitcoin core itself. Thx for the help Wink

I didn't use the bitcoin core a long time, and i don't want to use it in the feature. I believe lots of people have then same feeling as me, we just use SPV wallet.

Bitcoin Core version 0.10.2 is now available from:

https://bitcoin.org/bin/bitcoin-core-0.10.2/

This is a new minor version release, bringing minor bug fixes and translation updates. It is recommended to upgrade to this version.

Please report bugs using the issue tracker at github:

https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues

Upgrading and downgrading
=========================

How to Upgrade
--------------

If you are running an older version, shut it down. Wait until it has completely shut down (which might take a few minutes for older versions), then run the installer (on Windows) or just copy over /Applications/Bitcoin-Qt (on Mac) or bitcoind/bitcoin-qt (on Linux).

Downgrade warning
------------------

Because release 0.10.0 and later makes use of headers-first synchronization and parallel block download (see further), the block files and databases are not backwards-compatible with pre-0.10 versions of Bitcoin Core or other software:

Blocks will be stored on disk out of order (in the order they are received, really), which makes it incompatible with some tools or other programs. Reindexing using earlier versions will also not work anymore as a result of this.

The block index database will now hold headers for which no block is stored on disk, which earlier versions won?t support.

If you want to be able to downgrade smoothly, make a backup of your entire data directory. Without this your node will need start syncing (or importing from bootstrap.dat) anew afterwards. It is possible that the data from a completely synchronised 0.10 node may be usable in older versions as-is, but this is not supported and may break as soon as the older version attempts to reindex.

This does not affect wallet forward or backward compatibility.

Notable changes
===============

This fixes a serious problem on Windows with data directories that have non-ASCII characters (https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/6078).

For other platforms there are no notable changes.

For the notable changes in 0.10, refer to the release notes at https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/v0.10.0/doc/release-notes.md

0.10.2 Change log
