I think upgrade is always necessary. For me, I am always a bit conservative- if possible I always use one version older than the current one just in case of any bugs.

"Warning; this version is obolete;upgrade required!"
That's likely because of soft-fork changes that aren't supported by your current client.

My question is : Do i have to upgrade
You don't have to, but you should upgrade.

Or can i continue using old version safely ?
Yes, you can, but you shouldn't.

Lol, a lot of people is known if the new update is always having any improvement but maybe the op is still worried about upgrading bitcoin core into new version because worried to getting any bug or error in them.
No. There are no 'major bugs' AFAIK that should cause you trouble.

In my opinion, the new update will be better but you should read through the stuff changes that the update provides accurate and carefully load the update, make sure your download does not get repaired by third parties

You should upgrade. Instruction for verifying binaries are on the forums, you can find them linked in the News section

Agreed, at this point there is no reason not to upgrade. The download links are now posted on the top header of the forum.

To the OP: Verifying signatures can be a hassle, but it's good practice and gets easier in time. Here is the guide that Theymos posted for verifying your Bitcoin Core download: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/verifying-bitcoin-core-1588906

I'm really looking forward to 0.13.1 and Segwit implementation, so please do keep upgrading. Cheesy
