These conspiracy theories are fueled by misinformed media and news outlets. Bitcoin has been declared dead for the 89th time and it is still alive and well. It did see a price decline, but that was mostly due to the Cryptsy hack that came at the same time as the blog entry that declared Bitcoin dead by Mike Hearn.

We will see a lot more of these articles in the media from now on, because most of the private ledgers in development now, will be implemented within this year.

Very good points, thank you for sharing!
It's obvious that banks and financial institutions becoming more and more nervous because of our success.
Bitcoin is much more attractive to younger generation than traditional money in traditional banks.
This trend will continue and banks know that now is last moment to stop it or they will loose Smiley
I heard this story that bitcoin will die many times and don't think about it anymore, just buying more bitcoin and enjoy Smiley

In my opinion bitcoin is far away from being dead. Just because some people don't like to see bitcoin succeed doesn't mean that what they say has to come true.
I believe in bitcoin and I think bitcoin is far away from dead.

I think one of the reasons that some people like conspiracy theories is
I think that they like to feel like there is a group of people who are so smart and powerful that they can pull the wool over an entire country or in fact even an entire world's eyes. That certainly makes them feel like somehow they're protected, even if it's not in they're best interest.

The banking sector is full of conspiracies. There is not a single market that they haven't conspired together in order to "fix" it - and some times they have been caught, having to pay fines or settlements.

Why would the emerging cryptocurrency market be any different - especially when it is a market that if it succeeds will cut on their revenues and profits?

Bitcoin will not die because of a little bad news... It's value might drop a bit temporarily, but dying is something else.

Every time I read that it has died I smile a little and buy a bit extra as the coins are cheaper to pick up.

A theory that never proved it's worth in reality so it's same to nothing in terms of reliability. There's always a guy in each system out there who acts as the opposite of being in the team and perhaps that's just Mike for Bitcoin as a whole.

What that article did not say, was that the R3 consortium has known about the article that would be placed in the New York Times before it was published. How did they know

that? Questions should now be asked : How much influence does the banks have over the mainstream media? They portrayed Mike Hearn as the fallen victim, sitting alone in

his dark apartment and walking in the dark woods... What a crock of shit. He chose to leave Bitcoin, when he failed with XT and then moved to the competition like a Judas. He

is the typical Job hopper and thrive on attention and power. He just made this VERY personal.

actually there is a lot of news to attack bitcoin, it is good cause bitcoin price will be lower, and we will see bitcoin is dumped by whales, and it is time for whom didn't buy bitcoin at 200 USD, so people can rebuy bitcoin at cheaper price and then will be pumped to higher when block halves, I hope I will buy a lot of bitcoin at 200 USD again, and hold hold hold for next big rise to sell.  Cheesy Cheesy Grin
