Hello everyone Smiley
Another beginners question, i have came along these dice websites. Is it possible to win any bitcoin with these games or is it just like a pub machine. I have tried some probabilities calculations and it says it should be random but doesnt really look like it.

If i roll under 90 ten times i always got 1 wrong which by math makes sence but than the script/machine/game is not fair because in all randomness if i roll 100 times it should be possible to have 100% winnings.

Thank you for answers...if you got secret tricks PM me Wink

The more you spread your attempts, the closer you will be to the statistical average. Remember, statistical average is always in favour of the house. You need to beat them with luck, even if they provide a probabilistically correct randomness.

If you play dice for 10 rolls with a win chance at 90% (so usually 1.1x) you can "match" one of those config :

Of course, in 100 rolls is possible not lose... but is not so easy:

p = 0,9 ^ 100 = 0,00002656139889

1 / p = 37.648,619

Thats called variance mate. There is the house edge anyway so you lose in the long run.

There is no way to tell if the site is fair or not by just looking at the bet results. As you said, you could be winning 100% of your bets if you are lucky, but you could also be winning just 80% if you are unlucky. To check the fairness, you should learn to verify your bets instead.

First, make sure you are playing on a good provably fair site.
Some sites claim to be provably fair when they are not. Some sites use the old-fashioned provably fair algorithm without a nonce, which is hard for players to verify the bets.

Also, make sure you actually verify your bets. The dice sites should have a page teaching you how to do so in details, and there are also some third party tools such as http://dicesites.com/provably-fair. You should always check to see if the hashes match with the bet results.

Direct Dice is Provably Fair.

What Provably Fair means is that there is no way we can influence the roll of the dice, even if we wanted to.
The roll of the dice is completely random and you can verify that after the completion of the game.

This is explained in more details here :

www.directbet.eu/Rules.cshtml#Dice

You can reveal the secret of your dice rolls. Then you will be able to verify your dice rolls from the Bet Status page by clicking on Verify next to each roll result. This will show you in great details how the dice was rolled for your bets.

Direct Dice seed changes every roll. It is the transaction ID of your bet transfer, as appears in the block chain, and we have no control over that value.

Direct Dice also features Lowest House Edge for frequent bettors, 10 BTC Jackpot on the house and Instant Payouts !

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or if you need any help.

All the Best,

Michelle

Sites with provably fair are usually fair but you will lose, eventually, in any of them, my recommendation is not to gamble for money, dont play dice, it's a waste of time and you won't get any profit, play other games that you might enjoy. It's definitely better than slots tho, that's for sure.

this is the gambler's fallacy.

Just lost 1 roll, that doesn't mean the next 9 have to be wins. If each individual roll has a 90% chance of winning, and they are truly independent, you won't necessarily win 90 out of 100, because 100 isn't very many rolls.

Also, you are forgetting about the house edge. If you did 100 rolls, and won 90 and lost 10 you would still have less money than you started with because of the house edge, that's how casinos make money.

There's a decent explanation on provably fair here:  http://dicesites.com/provably-fair

Quote
Although there are several implementations of the provably fair method, we will describe the most common one. With this method each roll-result is calculated by the following variables:

Serverseed - provided by the gambling site
Clientseed - provided by your browser and adjusted by you
Nonce - A number that increases with each bet you make

You will get an encrypted hash of the serverseed before you start gambling. Since you get it in advance, the site cannot change it later. However it is encrypted, so you cannot calculate your own roll results in advance (only afterwards if you get the unhashed serverseed.)

Your browser will generate a random clientseed. However, you could and should adjust this clientseed before you start. This way you can make sure the site does not know your clientseed in advance.

Now if you make a bet the nonce starts with 0 or 1 depending on the website. After each bet you make, the nonce number will go up by 1.

You can use there site to verify most of the popular dice sites:

http://dicesites.com/primedice/verifier
http://dicesites.com/justdice/verifier
http://dicesites.com/satoshidice/verifier

Just remember not to gamble too much Tongue

Most of the sites have a provably fair system which have a system in order to verify that they aren't cheating. It would make them much more difficulty to cheat without skipping nonce which changes the nonce to another nonce and thus producing losing roll. It is important to select a good gambling site to go to. I would recommend going to primedice or justdice as they are very trusted among the community. Primedice provably fair uses a server seed, a client seed and a nonce. They are used to generate the rolls. The hash of the server seed would be revealed to you to ensure that they don't cheat and the client seed can be chosen by you. The nonce increases by 1 with every roll.

you also have to consider the house edge which will change all your calculations that you did without considering it.

p.s. move your topic to the gambling section of the forum.

the odd are aginst you, think that after % of try 1 will surely go to the table/site/dice game, so unless you have huge luck it better to leave those pure gambling games where they are
