The majority of people who sign up here these days only do so because they've heard you can earn money
Thank you, I could not have said it better myself--this is precisely what's happening here.  At one point I swore Theymos must have billboards offering "work from home" opportunities in the Phillipines and elsewhere in Asia, because that's where most of the nonsense is coming from.

I think campaigns need to start doing a better job of screening applicants and denying the shitposters.  What happened to SMAS?  I've seen Yahoo62278 take some of the worst posters on here into his campaigns, and recently too.  Joel_Jantsen just ran a campaign (Narbonne), and he did a fantastic job keeping the shitposting in line--he denied payment for quite a few posts, and it was obvious that he checked people's posts manually.  That was refreshing to see, and that should be the model for all current campaign managers.

These altcoin campaigns?  Forget about it.  I think there's basically zero quality control.  I have that whole section on ignore, so I don't see anything that's written there.  I've caught a number of people doing copy/paste jobs lately, though.  It's terrible.

Nothing will change until changes are made to how signature campaigns are allowed to operate here but theymos doesn't seem interested in that so it's just going to get worse with every day. The majority of the content and posts on the forum is embarrassing and as long as there are crapcoin campaigns that pop up by the dozens every month who will pay for any content regardless of quality this will only get exploited. The majority of people who sign up here these days only do so because they've heard you can earn money here so you just get dozens of illiterate kids from developing nations signing up who can barely speak or comprehend English hence why you have such crappy threads asking the most basic of stuff. Just look at all the threads asking how activity works that pop up daily and they only want to know so they can earn more.

The level of account farming that is going on to exploit crapcoin campaigns is also ridiculous. There are certain individuals who have or are farming literally hundreds of accounts by shitposting or copying and pasting others responses (some with bots and some manually) and nothing is ever done about it. My solution is to ban the campaigns and accounts of anyone who is clearly doing nothing to control spam and also remove signatures from ranks/activity. Everyone who joins the forum can only have a basic signature and if you want a bigger Senior or Hero sized one you have to donate to the forum to get one. This will instantly stop account farming and people having dozens to hundreds of accounts and is pretty much the only way to stop the abuse here. I used to say it's not going to be long before the only people posting here are third world kids trying to earn money but that's pretty much what this forum is now. There are solutions to it but it theymos doesn't care about it nothing can be done and it'll only get worse day after day.

Agreed - seems to just be a site for marketing shit coins and scamming third world countries with bounty campaigns and ICO's that will never fulfill their promises.

Kind of sad - but I guess money talks and it'd be the easiest way to make it.

Ah well, just food for thought, hopefully people will start to get sick of it.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/low-quality-topics-do-not-belong-here-1649348

Low value topics that do not encourage constructive discussion do not belong in Bitcoin Discussion. Threads not directly about news or developments within the Bitcoin ecosystem such as the following all now belong in Off Topic

So what happened to this post - are these forums not regulated?

The following titles are all currently on the front page,

Are you addicted to Cryptos?
Good time to buy BTC
Being Unemployed Drives People to go to Bitcoin
Bitcoin Can Now Buy a Mansion in Moscow Suburbs
Is bribing via bitcoin a good idea?

The garbage being spread across some of these forums is pretty terrible - not to mention the quantity of duplicate posts and the sheer amount of clickbait titles.

It's hard to differentiate these forums to buzzfeed sometimes.
