You can get a glimpse of it from whatever that is happening within the crypto space today and then you will know if it is really corresponding to what was recorded in the data, if altcoin season was here, would we all not have seen it, many of us would have already seen an increase in the value of some of the coins that we are holding, but the only thing that is a bit accurate is that bitcoin is probably approaching such dominance rate.

The more bitcoin dominates, the more it is that most of these coins do withdraw or decline in value, so I have not seen any altcoin dominate the market or altcoin season started, but I am sure that when bitcoin go sideways maybe this year or next year, no one knows, altcoins will also start dominating the market, but I don’t think the season is here yet.

There won't be an altseason as long as bitcoin dominance is over 60% and it doesn't look like its changing the next months.
Honestly, I doubt that there will be something like 2017 again, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

If based on the facts that occur in the market, bitcoin control is hard to stop. Moreover, if you look at a current state of the market, the dominance of bitcoin is really felt, but if you do not believe about a news, please do more research..

I think the current encryption data will change in the future, Because encryption is still in its infancy and will know many developments.

I wanted to share an article i have been writing on medium.com: Bitcoin Dominance Index: is Alt Season already there, without us even noticing?

Bitcoin dominance is said to be over 90%, according to a recent study and article from Forbes from Aug 22, 2019 if you take liquidity into account. This is no real news, as there have been a lot of discussions about this in the past, such as the article “Bitcoin’s True Market Dominance” from March 22, 2019. The question for me is though: can we trust this data? And is alt season maybe already there, without us even noticing?

I would love to get feedback on this, as i am trying to understand different sentiments here.

If there was a subcoin season, we'd all see it. I miss the last altcoin season. I wish everyone had that excitement.
For example I remember EMC2. It rose about %1700 just in a week. OMG it was awesome.

I think that altcoin season will happen with the next bull run, when new investors come to the crypto market, they will buy Bitcoin, then they will learn something about altcoins and then they will start buying altcoins with their Bitcoins.

well you first have to define the words you are using:
bitcoin dominance: is it actual dominance or is it market cap?
altcoin season: does it mean altcoins that become more adopted or does it mean altcoins that start pumping again?

you see that made a lot of difference in the entire discussion.

what Forbes said was mostly about actual dominance not silly useless data games with market capitalization.  that is why the percentage they come up with is 90%

as for "atlcoin season", if we are talking about actual usages and adoption of altcoins in real world i do believe that we are at least 10 to 15 years away from the day that could happen.
but if we are only talking about the new wave of pumps all over the altcoin market where each shitcoin rises a big percentage in a short time then falls back down. then we are very close to it, it has not yet started though. it will probably begin by the end of this year or start of next year. for now the pumpers are busy with smaller coins.

Although bitcoin prices have tripled this year, there are many other mainstream currencies that have risen to varying degrees, but the level of increase is not as high as bitcoin. I want to choose to hold Bitcoin is reliable.

If the real dominance of Bitcoin is now 90%, then altcoin spring has not yet arrived and there is no point in waiting for altcoins price growth. I do not expect altcoins to grow in the near future, because I think that for a start, Bitcoin should rise higher, after which its price growth will stop and capital will begin to move into some new but promising or old altcoins. But this is only my assumption based on my experience and not everything should be as I think.

Alts season can't be here without notice lol
It always comes with a blast for alt season to happen, Btc dominance has to reduce from 90% to say 45/50% of the marketcap. If Btc dominance sits at 90% then alts will keep being crushed.

It doesn't feel like we are having an alt season yet i am not sure we will ever have one.

Yes, some alts are gaining value but most of them losing and well, most of them should lose.

I have been following this for quite a while but it kept telling me otherwise, Bitcoin dominance is around 90% right now but the alt keeps moving down every day without stopping. If the alt season is around the corner, the alt should at least moves sideways because it needs to consolidate its support before the rise. But now we keep seeing the down which means it is not the time yet, even if Bitcoin dominance is over 95% we can not say the alt season is near unless we see a sign. We can trust that data but not entirely, what we can trust is our capabilities handling every possible scenario that might happen when Bitcoin goes up or down.

If altcoin season is already here, I hate to think of what the alt markets will look like when it's not here. Easy way to determine when it's here -- price of alts increase in comparison to btc. So not only do they increase in fiat, but their alt-btc ratios increase.

Very few alts are anywhere near their 'normal' btc prices. Most are at least half of the price they were just 2-3 months ago, some worse than that. Even some big coins are at btc prices lower than they were 2-3 years ago. So again, if the season is here, we are in for some rocky times.

BTC was dominating the whole time without any questions. But the problem is that during the last bullish trend, when altcoins grew by 100 percent a day, BTC dominance was between 30 and 40 percent, which gave place for altcoins to increase in price.

All we need know is Bitcoin is dominating the market, and we all know that it is higher than 50% and about the discussion, if we are looking at the correct and right data, it is for the traders and investors on what to believe in, if you think that Forbes is not giving us correct data and you have your own sourced that you think is real to you then it's up to you.

I want to see study and research that altcoins are also moving but I am very much ok with the thought Bitcoin is dominating the market, I always say, if we have full adoption of Cryptocurrency, it should start with Bitcoin, there should be no shortcut.

I think it all depends on the perspective you believe in, because indeed almost every year BTC always dominates and dominates the market. if for altc I think it's always like that every year they just follow every step of the movement of the BTC. even when BTC goes up sometimes altc is still below. in my opinion the altc season is usually at the end of each year and the data is indeed correct.
