To be very honest, I have never felt being part of the $15K+ BTC trading happened at all. Too short, too bubbly, must go down.
Happy to see BTC "crashes" 50% from all time all because my mind is still lingering around BTC being around $9K+ or so!

Is the market getting ready for futures? I predict the price will continue to drop exponentially  Shocked

Nothing new here. 10% is still normal for Bitcoin price change. I am aware that you are newbie (in rank, idk if a true newbie) but this is all normal. Bitcoin is very volatile and a 10% change within a day is pretty normal. The correction will stop sooner or later and it won't continue to drop exponentially.

I have been looking at your profile, and you have only created your account in here to post fud about bitcoin

Why are you so scared about posting with your main account? You only have five threads, those five threads are just talking about the same.

1- Bitcoin a ponzi. bla bla bla.
2- Bitcoin down
3- Bitcoid, no reason for it's price.
4- and more garbage.

You are a waste of time, you really deserve to have your account red tagged.

What a downer Sad Too soon to speculate such things. We know that it is really hard to predict the price of bitcoin so why not be positive on your predictions and hope that bitcoin's price will just continue to increase and will defy all those bubble speculations from all people that had been saying it to bitcoin. As of now, bitcoin is increasing again so that little dip just now made quite a turmoil in the bitcoin community.

Bitcoin drops then bitcoin pump this is how the cycle goes I think people are so much afraid of the fluctuations happening in bitcoin price they don't understand that this is the market bitcoin are entitled to. I admit before I was one of those who keeps checking the price of bitcoin and afraid that my money maybe gone if bitcoin price drops but now I don't worry much because I know after a drop a much higher value of bitcoin will come.

Isn't this huge volatility normal state of affairs in our line of work?
Bitcoin was always extremely volatile - we were just put at ease by a long period of a bullish trend and recent sudden price gains.
One is certain - with corporate money flooding bitcoin markets it will be even easier to crash bitcoin price.
I expect that volatility won't be lowered on the contrary - massive coordinated pumps and dumps will be a reality.

I see no reason to panic. Remind those who have bitcoins stored from last year about that in the beginning of this year bitcoin was worth a little more than $ 1,000. To what level the price will fall I don't know but it would still be more than we had. How to react in such decline they know. Keep calm and all will be restored. This year we will see the price at $ 20,000. Wait.

If you weren't here in 2013, I suggest you change your chart to log scale and zoom out.

This weekend is barely a ripple.  I won a contest for guessing when we would hit $1000/coin, and then I had to hold my prize for two years while it dipped as low as $160.

If 10% gives you poop emojis, you would be better to just sell your stash now and buy yourself something nice.  Otherwise, lock it in a safe place and come back in 2020.

From the bitcoin was created the price is fluctuates in a market, but still it's moving upwards and reach 15400$.If you had invested for future purpose then just hold .The price fluctuations is often happens in bitcoin waited

Corrections shakes the crap out of everybody. They are scared of losing what they have seen as a profit but not thinking beyond the correction which may push bitcoin higher.
Well at every upward gains their should be a neutralizer to enable more in the future.
The aggressive increase never gave any security to anyone that is why it's great having such events. It really gives another mark just like another starting point to anyone who wants to start in this industry. Late or not late bitcoin is the Future of transactions.

At last, the correction everyone was waiting for. The massive surge in the price of last week is finally having a pullback, everyday we saw almost a 1k increase in the price, there some attemps of correction but they were just small $500-$400 dips that lasted a couple of hours before a new price increase.

This is actually a correction and I wouldn't be surprised if keeps going down. I believe panic sell is going to hit hard in the next few hours as many people and newcomers just got into bitcoin in the last couple of weeks, when the price was off the charts.

Everyone should take this opportunity to buy cheap btc, if not, you're going to regret it.

A lot have been expecting there to be a correction these past few price rises, and it's quite possible for the price to be low for quite some time. This correction should be healthy but it can't be avoided for there to be some panic sellers especially since there are a lot of new investors. A lot will sell with the fear that the price will just keep going down. In the meantime, this is a great chance for others to buy.

Is the market getting ready for futures? I predict the price will continue to drop exponentially  Shocked

I'm sure that it'll bottom out very soon and see a lot of sideways movement before another explosion. Potentially even taking us to $20k+. I don't think that this is going to be the end at all, we're still a long way from prices freefalling.

10-20% drops used to be daily business in bitcoin but recently BTC's on such a run that people have forgotten about it.

Just buy the dip now, be smart about it, and hold your position until another pump comes. That's the aim of the game, really.

it is a healthy dip and there are lots of forks coming ahead. i think it will explode again soon! btc will moon again before the first december fork.

better not to sell.

Continue to drop exponentially? Barely.

It's just a correction. You didn't mention the fact that we are still up in regards to last week's price. In fact, we are up a cool 20% from last week still. So this should show you how crazy the pump has been and of course, a correction had to take place.

Even in the worst case scenario of this being the final straw to break the camel's back, i doubt there won't be a last push upwards for all you bears out there to sell at a higher price at. Though personally i'll be holding through this patch.

I don't feel a bit sorry for the jack asses that drove the price to such a ridiculous high. This will hurt mainstream adoption for a while.

What do you predict the price will drop to in the next hour? next 24 hours? next week?

It will correct below its true price in due time. Then probably bounce above it before settling somewhere well below where we are now.

Thats really all I can predict.

So it really means that we do really need to hold. I'm sure it will bounce back, but if you haven't dump your coins at $18K-$16K, then there's no point of selling it at today's price. But still for me, at $13K bitcoin a pop it is still a good price still. And this correction is a good because we all been waiting for this so that we can get to the market once again. I'm sure others are thinking the same, maybe waiting for the floor price (which we don't know) before coming into the picture.

So for those who have loads of fund to still buy bitcoin, get it while the price is down, when this market becomes bullish again, You will regret your decision not to enter at this state.

Based on what logic would the futures market lead to bitcoin price dropping exponentially? I suspect that this is a correction because of how quickly bitcoin rose in anticipation of the futures markets.

This is a big correction, what I fear eventually happens. I think it will continue to drop by 15%. I don't know why this happened, there must be a very impact cause to make it like this. Soon we will know the original price of bitcoin. This will not be long time, bitcoin will again grow in the last few days of this year.

I have been saying this a lot.

This seems a awful lot like 2013. Like, down to the T.
Go take a look at what day BTC dropped 50% in 2013......

Not trying to induce fomo. I just feel that the symptoms of the surge were similar, and everything is playing out the same.
Yep.  I've been nervous about the price ever since we broke $5000 and haven't bought much bitcoin since then.  It probably isn't a bad idea to short bitcoin right now, because I have a feeling we're going to drop quite a bit, and soon.  As OP has said, we're down quite a bit from $15,500 or whatever the high was.  That price still makes my head spin, because even though I'm late to the party, I've been following bitcoin since around the time of Mt. Gox, and I remember when it slid below $200 for a while.

Shorting is a dangerous, nerve-racking activity, though.  I would never actually do it because I'd pretty much have to watch the price constantly.  You could easily lose everything if bitcoin rises more instead of dropping.  But hey, good luck if you do it.

Yeah as of right now time of writing it is showing down 8 percent as of yesterday's closing price. No need to worry the prices seem to do crazy rises and drops of double digits it seems like this is the new normal behavior for bitcoin each day just dont panic sell.
