So, is there a reliable, accurate, up to the minute chart on BTC trading and volume?  I have yet to find one...

Weren't Bitcoins at $13.50 each at the start of the year, before all the hype? That seems like a more accurate rate for them to be at, since they were at $10 for most of 2012. They will increase gradually over time, but it'll be years before they reach $260 again.

Bitstamp was at $79, but when I tried to open an account, the website was not available.

Is it possible that these exchanges lack the cash to pay for people changing their coins into dollars?

Fluctuating between $60-$80.
Extremely volatile right now. When Mt, Gox reopens, it will be very curious what will occur.
