This was talked about forever ago and it's already been happening as a few have said before.

It seems that alcibiades was a visionary back then in 2013.

There's a shocking amount of visionary-esque posts here from back then.

Obviously, in hindsight it seems like BTC getting this big is pretty inevitable, but back then when BTC's price was sub $1 and barely anyone knew about Bitcoin? It's amazing how much foresight and 'belief' a lot of the early OG bitcoiners had.

Ok, this entire post from mk4 is very relevant. There is a reason bitcoin is still number 1.

There is a reason why we respect satoshi to the same level we respect the dead.

There is a reason why the OG believers were believers to begin with.

It's why people call bitcoin a "religious fanatic group".

There are people at work for freedom for all.

And they won't stop until it happens.

Mostly by holding.

Buy bitcoin.

It's amazing to see that more than a decade trade that has talked about Bitcoin ETF has now become into a reality. And the institutions aren't stopping from there because it seems that each country will also have their own proposal for their own markets and citizens that the idea came originally from the ones that have been approved. And those that have been approved for sure came from discussions like this where in many have doubted its approval circa 2013 or so.

It seems that alcibiades was a visionary back then in 2013. Great research work Geremia, I don't think it was easy to find this lost thread from the Palaeolithic, and I think it's a good idea that we honor him by opening a current debate about ETFs here and not in a newly created thread.

I just double-checked the thread opening date. Initially, I was wondering why such threads were in the Beginners and Help section. I guess they're a better fit in the Bitcoin Discussion section. I opened the thread to read the content, but I was kind of surprised to see that the three are 11 years old. Yeah, we should consider the OP a visionary. BTC was around $55 in March 2013 when this member considered Bitcoin ETF. Today, Bitcoin is trading over 67K. Since OP is inactive, they will not tell us what is in their mind. But yeah, it's nice to see that people had faith in Bitcoin.

Is it possible to create a bitcoin ETF like this one for the British Pound? https://www.google.com/finance?q=fxb

The idea is that the price of the ETF shares track the value of the currency, but you can trade the ETF shares on stock exchanges.
