Bitcoin prices are at an all time high and despite the recent correction, I expect to see the price hit $5000 before the years end or byJanuary at most. With the recent mass adoption in India, Japan, Africa ETC, It's prospects are great. On the surface, it seems that mass integration of digital wallets could very soon be part of our everyday lives. India and Japan could well be the tipping point. It can only get better.
A year may be too soon but before the end of next year for sure we should reach 5k$.
Everything depends on the feedback of users. If this year another country will take bitcoin, by the end of the year we can touch the 3000 mark, and in the middle of next year 5000.
If these pump continues, we will be seeing the price of bitcoin at $5000 or $6000. We still don't know what might happen, but all we know, is that, we had a big profit these week.
I would normally say that bitcoin would not reach 5000$ this year but I can say for now that it might reach it because I thought that btc could not touch 2000$ price range this year when it was still at 1200$ price ranges and look at it now, it is above 2000$ which I thought was not possible so therefore I conclude that there is a chance that bitcoin will reach 5000$ but don't expect it too much because it might not reach that point either.

to me i think if the price of bitcoin will continue to increase with the the present trend then there is no doubt that the price of bitcoin will reach to 5000 USD level with in a month of 2. i think most of the people are still holding bitcoin because they are very much confident that the price of bitcoin will reach to 5000 USD level and that is the reason that they are not ready to sell their bitcoin and are holding it for some more time.

The truth to say for today I'm already irrigation growth rate Bitcoin but And the scale that you announced the next 6 months is already too much. I'll go to church for a candle for this.

I would say no, bitcoin cant reach that 5000$ value. Even the price is on rampage 5000$ price within this year is too difficult to achieved. If theres a great news that will occur it will only driven the price to go 3000$ by the end of this year.

I think the answer is not but bitcoin keeps defying common sense and my expectation, I would have never thought that we will prices like the ones we are seeing now, I thought that for us tho reach the current price we will need to wait for years and it only took a few months to get there.
Now the bitcoin price has reached 2700USD. I think this is a very real miracle. Prices increased nearly 130% from 2 months ago. I honestly feel disappointed to have sold a lot of bitcoin at 1700USD rates. Now I try to hold hold until bitcoin reaches fantastic value, it might be reached in 5000USD.
When i heard it will go up to 10million $ i laughed.

I think all of the price that are gonna be passable that are over $2700 right now can be speculated on what price does bitcoin really going to settle, and the most possible price are the $3000 value mark, and right now there are no such resistance or what so ever that I am seeing that might interrupt bitcoin from passing that price.

The growth percentage of bitcoin is pumping much higher compared to the days where we were all talking much about the increase happening in terms of $10 and $20. Now it has gone beyond limits crossing $100 and even more. In a thread it's been quoted that the next jump might be in multiples of $1000. When it happens we'll shortly reach $5000.

I think the price of bitcoin even this year will not touch in $4k maybe $3,000 value we can see this high price this year until this coming december since before every december we are seeing huge price increase so i think we will see huge increase this coming months gradually.. like other said japan treaten bitcoin not only alternative currency it is legal right now .. and hoping that bitcoin will be legal here in my country that i think if it will happen more price increase will come.. so for those old bitcoin holders i am sure they can get more profit with their bitcoins.

Things are very different than they were years ago. Exchanges are more spread out, user base is increasing, countries are starting to realise they cannot stop Bitcoin - but most importantly right now, Japan making Bitcoin not just a currency, but legal tender, is causing a massive supply and demand effect. I may be wrong and this could all go to shit shortly. But I genuinely think this journey is only just beginning. Time will tell.

All of you saying that this is not possible this year, need to look at everything a little more closely. Japan has seriously kickstarted this run, Korea is paying ~$3K/BTC and it shows no sign of slowing down at this moment in time. This bubble, if it is one right now, is only just starting.

As the bitcoin increasing day by day it will definitely touch 5000$ this year but by increasing it's price transaction fee also increases which is not good for us.. but if we get that huge amount then no one will bother about transaction fee i guess.

For the price of 1 BTC right now, you could have bought like 7-10 BTC back then. It's all about believing in Bitcoin's potential. I always believed that at some point we would reach the $2000 level, so I kept holding. In the same way I believe we will reach the $10,000 level, and again, I will keep holding.
It is very good that there are such optimists as you. I also believe in bitcoin. That's why I've been holding coins for a long time. And I believe that in a few years their price will grow several times. I bought coins for $ 700 and friends told me that it was very expensive)))

because if you think about it a rise to $5000 in such a short period of time is actually pretty scary and that would be a real bubble. that is a 400% rise in this year and it can cause a very long bear market.
Depends on your definition of bear market. We went from around 15 to 260 between 2012 and 2013. Then we saw six months of consolidation before propelling to 1100 from the starting base at 90. Yes, it is bubble - but also merely another local peak before long consolidation. I doubt bitcoin will enter true depression before testing 10 000 dollars per bitcoin first. Perhaps as soon as next year.
Yes we will see thw price of bitcoins to be more than 5000$ by the end of this year.on the other hand it can be predicted that the price of bitcoins would fall down drastically and we may see a steady rise in the price of bitcoins.

We are not even halfway of the whole year so anything is possible.
Since it doubled its price from January until now then maybe something like near $5000 could be reached.
Still that is a long way to run and anything could happen but I am looking for a big increase in the BER months that will come and the holidays to when they use much of online stores as giving gifts.

We are all waiting for the next hack, FUD or other crap. I´ll expect a correction soon. But until that, it can go up to $5k, yeah...

These crazy bumps in the chart takes the bitcoin value to peak value every time but mining has been increased now. When the bitcoin is in the low value, fees seems also low. Why nowadays mining seems as a high amount. Why providers are making money of it nowdays by it? These questions are not answered in the forum. This is why people are holding the bitcoin completely without selling it.
Bitcoin is back in business and getting hyped again.
You always get the gamblers pushing the price up to absurd prices.
Then some people get burnt and we drop again for a while until it stabilizes.
But then again I don't see crazy spikes only crazy growth.

I think the major stumbling block we face are the scaling issue resulting in high transaction fees. The $2000 mental barrier has been check, and we are all saying that its not possible but within a few months we touched that price. I think the next mental barrier will be $5000, but I doubt we can achieved it this year though. I think the price of bitcoin is really pushing and might get to the peak that we need some correction. Of course, who doesn't want it to get to $5000 but I really having doubts that we can get it, but not this year, but possibly in the next coming years.

you are half correct.
if the scaling issue is finally concluded and we move forward. and also the backlog aka mempool is finally cleared only one scenario can happen.
- the news of moving forward comes out
- price surges upward at another 50% up to 100% from where it is going to be at that moment
- then a correction happens but it will be very short lived and very small because the good news will come out contentiously about bitcoin and all the altcoin bubbles will finally blow up and all the money+profit will fly back to bitcoin and we see another 100% rise.

That's great idea of bitcoin investments in the future of price development has to be more profitable if that $5000 will be a reality next year. If we observe the proper situation now of price movement in the market , we see it has a successive increase in a matter of few days. So we now see the actual pump of price due to the uprising adoption of people in both asia and western countries.

I would say the same thing...except I would have said it for $2300, and that's where the price is right now. You've got people writing on this forum at this very minute that we're going to reach $100k, but that scares me. If we ever jumped that high in a year from $1300 (which is a couple months ago), that just isn't rational or sustainable. Things that go up that fast have a tendency to crash as hard as they rise. It's been proven more times than the Pythagorean Theorem in finance. So let us all hope for bumps and setbacks. Don't get carried away with the madness of the crowd.

BTC lost 85% after it topped out at 1200. i couldnt disagree more with your statement of not having anymore deep corrections, i see major spikes and crashes in these yet young days. Even gold with a market cap leaps and bounds more then BTC has drops of 30-50%. The lottery-ticketers buying in at 10K will be the same ones buying in at a grand last bubble. Wash, rinse, repeat. You need suckers for bubbles, temporary suckers if they have the balls to hold. Most cant, and a tidal wave of selling ensues.

You are right on that time . we could sense it right now that the price right now is getting huge and huge and it also happen that a big crash will happen that happen way back 2013 so i think it would be reach with that price but eventually it would dumps or crashes a lot .

The price could continue to increase considerably (not sure if $5k this year, though) if these problems are solved with SegWit or by other means.
It's very probable they will get fixed or at least improved by September.
I have no doubt that the current bitcoin rally has the enough momentum to send the price to $5000 or more, although I don't see realistic basis to support this high levels. But the power of speculation is enough to skyrocket the bitcoin price huge this year, and perhaps in few weeks you will see that historic price.
