I Think Better Choose Bitcoin Forum Rules Compulsory user KYC Needed for active forum
better in what sense? what improvements can be achieved by requiring KYC?
KYCustomer, being a member of a forum isn't the same thing as a customer
so based on what reason would the forum force KYC on its member, it just doesn't make sense

Bad solution to whatever problem you think there is.

Imagine forum gets hacked and all users documents gets in wrong hands, that would be catastrophic.

It's always fun to read people requesting to add KYC on Bitcointalk. C'mon, people here value their privacy and I don't see any strong reasons to implement KYC. Maybe KYC would solve multi account problem, but bounty abusers isn't forum problem, it's not even forbidden to have multiple accounts. Ok, maybe it would reduce number of scammers, but don't you think that scammers will bypass KYC with fake documents. And did you considered how many legit users would leave if KYC would be added?
And another thing, who would be responsible for keeping KYC data of hundreds thousands forum users? What if this database will be hacked? Holding such big database of KYC documents would be big headache for theymos. And I don't see how such thing would increase forum users security. It would have only opposite effect.

It's Only My Opinion.........................

No system is secure tbh, and this forum already has a number of enemies for whatever reasons the database is hacked then gl if the hacker sells that info.

What's the point of change if everything's running smoothly already?

KYC is never really a solution for forum users' security. It can only endanger them.

We already have a trust system here that every members can use and refer to when planning to make a trade with any of the users here.

OP should read this, and understand the importance of privacy and security

This forum has several 100.000s users, you want to suggest that someone should store personal information of alllll these members in a centralized way somewhere. What if the database gets hacked, who would be responsible in that case?
It is too much of a responsibility for one person and it goes against the pillars of Satoshi's vision and general privacy.

KYC means that there is more personal information out there to obtain. Currently if the forum was hacked or leaked or whatever the only information they would obtain is current and past IP address, Username, Display name, Hashed password and and possibly gain access to your account through cracking the hashed password. Now imagine if KYC was in place and the forum was compromised the hacker would have access to Name, DOB, address and all sorts of information. KYC is more a problem than it is a solution.

And you would know this how after being here for a day or so?

Oh wait, another shit alt.

Just trolling or not willing to link your stupid thoughts to your main account? Man up.

Also on a more serious note, you can have security AND privacy. They are not mutually exclusive.

Do you show an ID when you pay in cash for a drink? No. There is no need for KYC everywhere, all the time. And especially not here.

Your suggestion is good (...)

I think the more prevalent view on this board is that it's really not.  KYC causes more security issues than it solves.  If you store a great big cache of valuable personal information in one place, people are going to be motivated to try and steal it.  KYC is inherently dumb.

KYC is too easy to bypass or manipulate. The establishment of reputation based on behaviour in the community is a far better solution in my opinion. This is something that Bitcoin Talk has been implementing, and recent changes have improved this.

As always - Caveat Emptor . The Jet Cash translation of this is "If you don't look in the dark caves, then your wallet will be emptied".

We aren't here for bounties; therefore there wouldn't be KYC  Cheesy , also, the forum is decentralized and nothing can make it change it sole purpose of existence.

Your suggestion is good but remember that this forum was made by Satoshi and he do not have KYC and still anonymous by now. I understand your  intention is good but when we are talking about KYC, there are still some issues that are vague and not yet ready to implement.
