i dont think you will have any problem to transfer money from a Greek bank to a foreigner exchange or vise versa. But the limit is 800 euros per month because of the capital controls

I have send double that to an exchange in August ... I am not sure there is a limit ... eurobank says you can transfer up to 12000 ?
anybody else has an experience with this ?

And a bank will open an account for you at any time as long as you have GREEK TAX NUMBER (AFM or maybe EUROPEAN TAX NUMBER) and you state that you want it for your work but you have to pay for the POS (credit card machine) about 130 euro

I think the limit has increased to 1800 per month from 9/2017.

Even for us it is difficult to open a new bank account Undecided If you don't stay here for a long time, it is better to use your bank account and withdraw money without any "capital control" issue  Wink

This might help you out: https://hellenicnews.com/opening-bank-account-greece-foreign-resident/
Also the capital controls in Greece don't restrain business money, which means you can wire more
than 800 euros per month anywhere in the world (you just have to justify why you're doing that).
If this works out try choosing Piraeus bank, they're decent and have 24h. fraud protection for their
customers.
Thank you very much, I will have a look
