Banks have been pushing people in Australia I know that for sure, Coinspot here has been forced to stop accepting instant bank payments for now.  There are also a lot of governments around the world that are threatening higher tax brackets for people who invest in Bitcoin and Altcoins.   I see this as the banks and governements fear that they cannot control it and trying to get a grip..  Desperate times , cause for desperate measures.. they can't handle the current massive transfers of wealth that they can't control..

Bitcoin goes down but Bitcoin cash up. Coincidence? Definitely not! There was a strong overflow from bitcoin into the cash. Bitcoin must die sooner or later, and cash will replace it

People say cme traders futures dump bitcoin because they want to buy at a low price. I bought more btc at $11k today. I think we are seeing a little bounce, maybe a bit of a bull trap, then it will go lower probably (I’m holding some cash just in case) and then in the new year everyone will be buying again.

The price is above 13k now, but I get what you mean, the price needed a correction, you need to understand that in order for the price to grow so much we need new people entering the market, which means that  a lot of new people got in in that last months and now we are seeing the consequences of that, a lot of people are selling in panic and losing money as a result.

I'm telling you, we will look back soon and ask our self why we didn't buy the coin when the price dumped to $11k, I believe there is one whale manipulating the price causing the sell orders on exchanges to be activated

It is still up on a month ago, the reason for the dump is that it just went up too much in a short period of time. I think the dump has ended but I would invest in ethereum rather than bitcoin at this point.

Now is a very good time to buy bitcoin. There is a correction, and in January we will see the price of 20,000 dollars.

This is a Christmas sell off plus a much awaited correction for BTC after growing parabolic since last month. This is the nature of the market, you can call it as a bubble or whatever. Bubbles will actually help in the growth of the asset in long term. Bitcoin is experiencing that right now and alts are also following that right now.

A combination of the following is the "reasons":

(1) Typical BTC correction (ebb and flow)
(2) TONS of new, experienced, non-battle hardened crypto investors who have never experienced a major BTC correction before selling like morons for little to no gain (or a loss)
(3) Cryptos tend to dip around Christmas every year

Nothing to fret about. Just HODL and buy moar! Wink

I only know two reason behind the dip in price of bitcoin due to past experience. Bitcoin is the number 1 crypto currency and there's always dump in price of it when Christmas is coming because every holder of it usually sell some part of their bitcoin in other to buy some stuff for Christmas but everything will be find after Christmas though
2. The hike in transaction fee, delay and stuck of transaction always cause dump in price which is the reason why we see Bitcoin Cash,Eth etc. Looking good acouple of days back.

EDIT : This thread ought to be move to Bitcoin Discussion area.

I think we can buy Bitcoin at that price for and then sell somewhere 13k$ for profit. Bitcoin price will drop more in next few day but we can still get profit will market recover after each blood day.  Grin

It's about time. This was really needed as the price skyrocketed in a short time. However, this is a perfect time to buy along with other coins.

it is really not much surprise to see the drop of bitcoin price, it is unusual to see the price of bitcoin rise more than 40% in few weeks, so this drop will take bitcoin back to where it belongs, so be calm, it may start rising back again in the future.

Current levels to look for are at 10k and 11k,if those go down no one will be abble to tell where is the bottom. There are few reasons behind the drop, first something that should be a payment solution was worth over 18k and yet it need a day for transaction makes no sense,2nd a lot of new money came in the market and with them wolfs from wall street wonabees who bought in on the hype that btc will be worth over 100k are now selling their btc that they payed 18k since this is their first encounter with correction
