Thanks for the info. What does the pool luck actually mean? Luck luck?

It's how fast the pool finds blocks compared to its proportion of the global hashrate. For instance:
BTG block time: 10 minutes
Pool hashrate: 5 MH/s
Network hashrate: 50 MH/s
Pool has 10% of total hashrate, therefore should find blocks every 100 minutes on average
if it finds blocks with a 90 minutes average, luck = 90 minutes / 100 minutes = 0.9

Anything slightly below 1 is good, because indeed lucky (if you are superstitious), or because it has a slightly faster server connection or something.
Anything slightly above 1 is bad,
grossly above or below = fishy af

Luck is sometimes worded as "effort". Again, less effort to find blocks = good.

pool.gold ... well... just look effort from the last 20 blocks: 1.58, 1.06, 1.87, 6.14, 1.60, 5.90, 4.75, 0.22, 1.21, 4.17, 2.33, 9.59, 3.38, 2.49, 3.73, 0.42, 7.46, 4.42, 3.43, 0.69

Average luck, last 20 blocks... a whopping 3.32

Thanks.

Been mining BTG until price dropped and switched to ZEC.

Was getting approx .02 -.03 BTG per day with a single Gigabyte Windforce 1080 on Suprnova using EWBF miner. Sometimes more/less

Mining ZEC now and getting less actual coin but approx $5 to $6 ever day or day and half. Price keeps rising since ZEC has went on a little run.

Im starting to feel the same with pool.gold but for some reason I cant configure my EWFB miner to work with supernova. With pool.gold it just started right up but with supernova I cant get it running. I set up my worker on the website but I cant configure my cfg file properly I guess.

Can someone tell me what Im doing wrong? Should I be entering the info differently from pool.gold? Really stumped at this point. Thanks so much

paste your config and i'll check, it should actually be pretty the same like on the other pools, just use a username.workername combo instead of an address

I FIGURED IT OUT!! i wasnt entering my address as xxxxxx.xxxxx!! I forgot the period.

Was mining pool.gold with a single 1080 and was receiving about $3 every other day which is roughly HALF of the sated rate. Ill update with supernovas pay rate after my first payment... So far I can say that my accepted shares increased by double. Same hashrate and everything but supernova seems to be working faster?

Accepted shares don't mean much. Suprnova (and many other pools) use Vardiff. Your difficulty increases if your hashrate increase (but the value of your share increases too). This prevents pools from being spammed by low diff shares from huge rigs, and allows very small rigs to submit more than 1 share per hour.

Ultimately, you should get (total BTG created in a day) * (your hashrate / total network hashrate), and then factor in Pool's luck.
Suprnova luck is normal (like most pools). Pool.Gold's bad luck is a statistical aberration.

Yeah. Most of the pool are scams.  I remembered my wife just last year.  She was so enjoying the pool and even so excited that she was ble o reach the targetted amount for withdrawal.  But when she was bout to withdraw,  it was on pending status. So I asked her what happened,  she said that maybe she needs to wait for 24 to 72 hours for it to be completely process.. But after 3 days, she was still not able to receive the payment but instead sking her to deposit 0.010 btc to complete the process.  That was totally scam! Annoying! I felt my wife's disappointment after weeks of hardwork.

What was the name of the pool ? We should publicize such cases.

pool.gold is most definitely a scam. They have had roughly 25% of hashrate since day 1 and barely pull 12-15% of blocks.
Looks like some sort of Selfish Miner attack or Block Withholding attack.

Suprnova works a-ok.

I stopped mining BTG and sold all my coins altogether though. I just do not trust the project anymore, and don't see its added value to the ecosystem.

I just noticed that  pool.gold today morning (10.01.2018) transformed their website and changed pool address to new.pool.gold .

I was curious how it works now and started miner just to test it ... My miner showed about 40 shares accepted in few minutes ... and on their page it showed 13 shares (3 hours later)...  I cant belive how greedy scammers they are ...

Beware of the new.pool.gold ! It's a scam for sure .

Yup its a scam .  I only received about half of the projected amount , plus they took some more because it was below the payment threshold.   Also they delayed my payments by 36 hours .   I guess they think its better to steal a quick buck instead of building a nice business .

I quit mining bitcoin gold at all ... It seems to be a scam from the beginning to the end.

What you think is better to mine right now from this two :   Zcash or Monero ?

I'm mining my nvidias on Zencash and Zclassic .  Same algo as Zcash .     20,000 sols generates $263 a day and adds $10 a day to my electric bill.

I have my RX 570's dual mining ETH/Decred.

Is it confirmed that pool.gold is a scam ?

I mined all night and submitted and had over 4000 accepted shares ... but next day when I woke up i saw ... that i have  only few accepted shares and my unconfirmed balance is 0.00010312 BTG ... Its ridiculous ... If that is how OFFICIAL pool works .. i dont have any words for this ...

Additionally i noticed one more thing ... when i run EWBF miner i see accepted shares ... lets say i have 100 shares ... but on statistic site on pool.gold i see i.e. 30 shares ... I think ok .. its a delay right ?   Wrong ! As soon as i stop the miner it automatically  stops counting shares on statistics page and I never saw the proper number of accepted shares on page which I saw in miner..

Sorry for my bad english ... I hope you catch the sense.

pool.gold eventually had issues with payouts. They gave out a "negative" balance and information is inaccurate to what was actually paid out to the miners. The following transaction IDs will be able to help and confirm my claim.

https://btgexp.com/tx/ee0ce26b2b82c387e44df54d727457e29ba18595de78f55a9e93e60722359941

I dont know why these two transactions are almost identical. A possible "DOUBLE SPEND" Huh

Any clarifications from POOL.GOLD ??

ok as post above I was mining pool.gold with 2000 sols started bout midday yesterday with them, but late arvo noticed something not right with the figues so in the evening I looked at suprnova and it turns out when you click on their btg pool all the stats are shown about their pool but its not shown on the main page... So I took 1000 sols over to suprnova and by mid arvo today suprnova had caught up with pool.gold and both paid out 0.01 at near the same time and pool.gold had around 8 hours head start with 2000 sols... pretty poor on pool.golds part.. Goodby pool.gold hello suprnova.cc PS I get 500 - 545 sols on my gtx 1080 cards with EWBF 3gb or 8gb not much difference.

I had the same problem with pool.gold Never got any payout and hashrate was a fraction of my actual hashrate.  Now I have been using https://btg.suprnova.cc/ for 48 hours works great already earned: 0.024 BTG paid to my own wallet.
I am using a 1080 with GPU Miner EWBF NVIDIA hashing about 485 sol/s:

I am starting to thing the same as well with pool.gold. I just got back into mining and am doing BTG with one rig. It ran for 8 hours at 3000 sols, however average on the site statistics is only 2.5, Also my immature funds for around 8 hours of mining i only $4 worth instead of about the $6-7 that I should have received.  Think once I can get the payout I will move to supernova.

UPDATE ***

0.02573760 mined for nova in 8 hours only .022 from pool.gold all day long ... SCAM!@@!!@!@!

I agree .  pool.gold is a scam.    I ran 10,300 sols for 13 hours.  It was supposed to pay 0.165 BTG.    I received only 0.047.  There is another 0.042 that has been pending (immature) for 24 hours .   If they ever pay the pending amount the total will be about 0.089 or 55% of what it is supposed to pay.   This seems to be consistent with the other posts on this site.

have u taken suprnova into account?

No, I didn't. You are right. I went on their home page and it had all zeros for their BTG pool. But when you go to the actual pool page, it says they have 51% of the BTG hash rate. So thanks, I may give them a try, I have used suprnova in the past and been happy with them.

I am calling out pool.gold to come on here then and explain their numbers. Right now they claim to have 29% of the BTG hash and yet only found 11% of the last 100 blocks. I have been mining long enough to know that when things don't add up, you should run the other direction.

Anybody has experienced pool.gold? I'm so disappointed with it  Sad

Something seems off with Bitcoin Gold mining. For example, pool.gold is the biggest pool. Right now they are just over 25% of the total BTG hash rate. Yet they only have 14% of the last 100 blocks. I have been watching them for about 24 hours and those numbers have been pretty constant. The math doesn't add up for me.

Anyone mining BTG on Minergate? I've been hashing since Friday, but the balance/reward is 0, unconfirmed balance also 0.
Stats so far:
Good shares:46,353
Blocks:0
Unconfirmed:0.00000000
Total mined:0.00000000

Pool stats say 3 blocks have been found since I started mining...
Is it normal it takes so long to get rewards??

Anybody has experienced pool.gold? I'm so disappointed with it  Sad

considering my average hashrate against network's I expect almost 40% more than what they have paid (payouts+unpaid +immature balances ) to me. It seems unacceptable. I put average network hashrate for the last 5 days at 90 MH/s and it is a very good and optimistic estimation for the period and by no means could be considered much higher, actually I guess it is too optimistic.

So with an average of 9.3 Kh, I expect 9.3K/90M * 24 * 6 * 12.51  = 0.186 btg per day but practically my average gain from this pool is less than 0.11 !

How is it possible? They claim to be 'official' (just like .pro ) and they have a rough 20% of the network hashrate that is huge. They are listed on the bitcoin gold official site and they claim 0% pool fee? Believe it? 40% lower income than what you expect and they claim 0% fee Huh  Shocked

How often does BTGpool.pro payout?

Depending on the hashrate you have, there is also the other step that would be the part where what you mined has to mature once you have done that and having reached 0.01 they send you the payment.

I'm at 420 Sols/s...am i wasting my hash on the BTG Pool pro?

You can use the calculator to get an idea of how much you can generate with the hashrate you have. http://calc.btgpool.pro

Understood, but when should one expect the Pending Balance value for this pool to move?

Went to btgpool.pro after mainnet startet with something like 1,6-2M/sols. Only 0,0027 BTG after 8 hours  Angry. this pool is absolutely shit. Switched to sprnova, works perfect with MUCH MORE payments.

I also have an issue with this pool, and try to fix the problem on Telegram group (as they advice), but admins do not answer for more than a week. Now I sent a private message to the promoter of this pool here, offered all evidences of sent hashing power. I hope that he will find and fix the errors in their system.

I mined in pool.gold in the very first day as well with 4 rigs in almost 16 hours, total balance's around 0.35 BTG, but it likes I will never be paid, I check in the pool again, my BTG's 0 now. actually I moved to Suprnova already and got paid.

Yeah, not hearing too many good things about most. I'm on Suprnova, can confirm I received my first payout to HitBTC. I can't say I'd recommend anywhere else right now, and after all the day 1 issues I don't feel like changing a thing anyway.

Went to btgpool.pro after mainnet startet with something like 1,6-2M/sols. Only 0,0027 BTG after 8 hours  Angry. this pool is absolutely shit. Switched to sprnova, works perfect with MUCH MORE payments.

Any one knows where to rent hashing power aside from nicehash?

Bitcoin Gold Pools are SCAM ?

it's beginning to look that way....

If that’s the case then I’d be very wary of the wallets. I sure as hell wouldn’t import my btc private keys into what looks to be a scam.  Don’t be too quick to act on this one.  Let’s wait and see approach.  Maybe we won’t be on first coins and maximize profits but we also won’t get taken for a ride
