It will definitely bring lot of attention to Bitcoin. It might skyrocket the price or the opposite. Many sites will make a comment on their blogs about Bitcoin doodle. It would be great if someone actually make Google draw a Bitcoin related doodle.

It would be nice for the 10th anniversary. That is, January 3rd, 2019.

Yeah, but let's not have to wait 4 years to see it!

Let's get the Google doodle ready for January 3rd, 2016! The birthday of Bitcoin is the best choice. When you click on the doodle it could take you to one of the flashy "history of bitcoin" graphics.

Does anyone on this forum work for Google? I'm sure someone does....

Yeah, it would look great, I have seen some which are really animated and interactive and they could add some feature like send button with a little preview of blockchain. But can't we choose another day which is a bit closer. January is too faaar!

Yes, of course. The doodle should be ready as soon as possible.

They generally pick a significant date for the day's doodle. It's often the birthday of some famous person. They can't use Satoshi's birthday, so bitcoin's 10th birthday sounds right.

If anyone wants to create a Google doodle, they have a contest this year in September.

Google has designers that create their doodles, but I bet you could lobby them to get them to create one for a bitcoin related day.

What day would be a good one for a bitcoin Google doodle?

What day did bitcoin go live?

So it is possible but I think it needs a controlled group effort like a petition because a bunch of emails here and there won't be enough to convince Google. They might think we're spamming if we just start sending emails randomly, isn't it?

Would be cool to see a google doodle but for some reason I can't see it happening or it's a long way off at least. Maybe if we keep sending requests to the email below that might spur them on a bit. Would be cool if google started accepting btc also and maybe it could coincide with that.

I've did some looking around and it looks like one can suggest a doodle. This is also where the problem lies, Google receives too many suggestions so they respond only to a few certain individuals.
The email that you should be looking at is: [email protected]
So we should suggest January 3rd, because of the genesis block. Who knows, with enough requests someone might get a response. Maybe if someone made a story about this on reddit, people could organize and send a lot of emails.

I'm pretty sure they'll have a whole team dedicated to the doodles and would need a manager to sign off on it. Maybe one day on bitcoin's anniversary we may get a surprise.

January 3rd,2009(BTC birthday) was the day when first Bitcoin block was generated, so I would like to see Google to pick January 3rd as Bitcoin day and put a Bitcoin doodles on their homepage.

Like all things Google, they probably already have their eye on it. Maybe not the doodle specifically but they see the general demand for Bitcoin and I think it's still not a big enough bleep on their radar.

http://www.google.com/doodles/about

Cool idea. I think we can certainly try submitting to them. I mean it's basically free promotion. I bet if bitcoin really does become mainstream one day, they will probably do it on their own without us asking them to. I can imagine the 2 "o" on the google word will be replaced by the bitcoin logo.

I assume the google team schedules the doodles probably tears in advance, the genesis block creation date would be fitting, and honestly I'm surprised its not a thing yet. I am almost certain it will be made sometime, for something so historic, especially for internet standpoint.

Is that possible ?

Do google chooses them on their own or can they be persuaded to use a Bitcoin doodle one day? I think it attracts a lot of attention and could really help bring in more people.

Thoughts..

Edit: typo fixed.
