Hi guys.
No doubt about the fact bitcoin halving will definitely be coming up this year.
What do you make up of that event?
What do you think It is gonna be its effect in the price.?
Will you suggest accumulation of bitcoin before the event?

BTCCheersBTC

Halving is not something that comes unexpectedly, people have a lot of positive expectation on it, this is the reason why on the two years that Bitcoin was in red the community are hanging on because they all knew that it will not last long and there is always hope and answer and the coming halving is the answer and our hope for a big turn around.
The mentality that this halving will help lifting the value of  bitcoin is all over the place, many traders and investors hanging with this news. With how those previous runs after halving gives hope to people who are still inside this industry. The market will be lifted once there's people who are interested to wait and take their chances.

In essence, halving is provided on the Bitcoin network in order to protect Bitcoin from inflation, although this moment is a little incomprehensible to me, since everyone knows that there is exactly a certain amount of Bitcoin.  And if we talk about how halving the rewards of miners will affect the price of bitcoin, then you can study the early situation in the past halving.  One way or another, in 2013 the price of Bitcoin increased slightly, but after the previous halving in July 2016, we observed a rapid increase in the price of Bitcoin in the flesh until 2017.  Based on this, we can assume a positive effect of the halving on the pricing of Bitcoin and on the entire cryptocurrency market.

I'm ready for both scenarios anyway. I'll just accumulate alts & BTC and be ready to ride the next cycle the right way. Grin
This is the perfect quote for me.

Whatever happens, we must be ready whenever Bitcoin goes down or goes up before and after the halving. If you are a holder, just continue to accumulate Bitcoin and other altcoins that you want to buy.

Will you suggest accumulation of bitcoin before the event?
Accumulating Bitcoin before the event is advisable but still, there is no certainties that Bitcoin will rise before the halving happens.
Even though we see Bitcoin rising slowly and the charts are saying that we are in a bullish phase already, don't forget that there is still a chance that Bitcoin can go down big time. This happened years ago and it can happen anytime Smiley.

I suggest accumulate as much as you can.
If you did it January 27 from this post then you know why and won't have any regret.

Don't just look for the halving also.
There are a lot of reason into why you should by bitcoin.
You are already in this forum with lots of information about it.
Maybe you should start with that. The reason into why you are really buying it and not just because there is an event going on May.

I'm going for two scenarios: Bitcoin will either go through the same cycle it went in 2016 & 2012 or this time would be different.
Well, that covers all the bases pretty much (lol).

I do hope that we don't see a repeat of the bull market craziness that led up to December 2017, because who knows how long it would take the market to recover from another crash like that.  I certainly would like to see bitcoin have some big gains this year, but exponential price growth, while it might be really fun to participate in, isn't sustainable or good for bitcoin in the long-term.

Right now the price is creeping up to $10k--or at least it looks like it's doing that--and I think that's much better than if I woke up tomorrow morning and saw preev showing bitcoin with a 5-figure valuation.  True, I might be elated at first but the rational part of my brain would realize that a serious correction would be looming.

If you have money to invest, now is still an opportunity for you to do so before is too late when we finally get closer to halving event of which there is a strong believe that the market is going to skyrocket more than what we have seen in the past halving event.
And we don't have to lose this opportunity otherwise, we might regrets later. The market to show a few pumps and continuously moving ahead.  Anyway, they'll have a choice but it would be great if they started it by now and see what we've got later coz it will be sure that the market will turn back high again.
Whoever was able to follow some of the speculation in one of my submission above and buy as at that time should be in profit by now base on the current market value of Bitcoin and some other altcoins that have have increase significantly. And is still not late for whoever want to hold for over a period of a month because as we get closer to the halving event so shall the positive news keep coming in and that will influence the market.

So you do talk or mention about interest of miners on said halving? I guess it wont really be that attractive too much for them.Block rewards been cut to half do you think that
it made them happy? thats still questionable if majority of them would continue or not yet rewards been cut and it will surely compromise profitability on miners side.
Only big players would consider on continuing.I dont know to the small ones.

Not to mention the amount of expenses a small time miners to spend in upgrading their GPU, since every block halvings, blocks are become harder and harder to solve that It needs more power from the machine. So does the electricity consumption will increase as well.
I guess huge mining farm has an edge over the small time miners, because it will compromise their sustainability.

yes, for sure. Even we should hoard bitcoins from $ 7k. Halving events every year cause good influence to the market. but please, be carefull. Never be too subjective because the crypto market capitalization is still very small and the whales can reverse the market at any time. Not only do you buy and hold bitcoins, you need a plan to make a profit. For example, you predict that the price of bitcoin will increase by about $ 20k. Then choose the strong resistance points to sell the bitcoins you are holding. It's a way for you to be both profitable and able to buy back bitcoin at a lower price.

Hi guys.
What do you think It is gonna be its effect in the price.?
Will you suggest accumulation of bitcoin before the event?
Bitcoin halving would affect greatly in the standing and value of Bitcoin in the market, simple concepts about supply and demand indicates a decrease in supply causes an increase in demand and would make the price of Bitcoin to also increase due to the fact that Bitcoin halving is the literal halving of what the miners would get from mining.

I think, there would be a lot of people that would invest in Bitcoin and would hold the currency during and after the halving for a chance to sell it to a higher price and earn a lot of profit from it.

If we talk halving event then I have an imagine that the price will up much more than I thought. As you may know, seeing bitcoin price before halving event came and after halving event came there were a lot of change even its price up drastically. We can count bitcoin halving had happened for two times exactly at 2012 and 2016 and you can see how the effect after this event was happened.

This thing will make many investor there have an accumulated and they will have prepared to meet this event. And as you can see now how the price movement and how the sentiment market effect bitcoin price. It means, there are many investor who already buy bitcoin to gain a lot of money from this event. And regarding to all your questions I guess I can't accumulated what profit that will you get but in the essence you will gain money if you buy bitcoin now.

I suspect that a lot of people who invested money into crypto around the end of 2017 will have probably cashed out already.

It takes some strong hands to hodl from those highs. That said, anyone who already sold may have already bought back in to try recoup their losses.

I believe there might be a difference due to the wave of new investors. We've got +1M addresses still holding their coins... so when the next cycle comes, these address might become active. If they do, it'll probably be a huge selloff from those who invested @20k.
It would be a bit unsurprising to see if there are many holders who would sell immediately once the price starts to rise, and when the market value is enough to cover their losses from the previous downfalls. They would surely take advantage of the situation and make sure to prioritize regaining their profit, and would probably not risk it again. Many people have regrettable not selling before when the price was still at the 'peak'.

If we are expecting price pump this year than we should also be ready for the halving which might occur immediately after the pump occurs. This has already been shown to us by bitcoins in the mid 2017 and hence this time we should prepare ourselves firstly in order to face those situations.

In situation like bitcoin halving, leverage trading would be most beneficial I guess as we can easily short or long bitcoins and make instant profits even in the bearish markets. This has been a life saver one but yes, it does posses a number of risks which needs to be studied before going onto leverage trading. Let's first consume the sweet fruits from the bull markets and than think about the halving.

This is going to be the third Bitcoin Halving so far. Research shows that 85% of all bitcoin will have already being mined at the time of the halving, which is approximately 85% of the total Bitcoin supply. This would mean that at the time of the halving there would in fact only be around 13,700,000 Bitcoin available. That’s even less than 0.002 Bitcoin for every human on Earth!
But not ever human on the Earth would buy and hold those bitcoins. There are pretty less people involved with bitcoins in the entire world as the most of the population is been engaged by the youngsters(who hardly invest into bitcoins) and the old aged ones(who might not even know what exactly bitcoins are). The remaining population is further divided into few classes like high class, middle class and low class.

Low class individuals would never invest in commodities like bitcoins due to their high volatile nature. Middle class would think about them and maybe 50% of the total class might consider investing into bitcoins. Now, the remaining high would have least time for something like bitcoins and majority of them might be treating bitcoins as a mean of entertainment to fulfill their needs like gambling, etc.

i have plan with my friend to make a "bitcoin halving party" of course its private party , its really important to my  life, bitcoin is my source of income, so i think halving will make bitcoin lover do it too.

with halving our income can rising, by rising the value of bitcoin, im sure after halving the resistant of bitcoin price will be $10.000 can't lower thant that's
Look fantastic when celebrate with halving party absolutely bitcoin raise with higher price but just worried when getting bitcoin have been in higher price you have to sell all it without waiting with halving time, maybe you can lost chance with bitcoin down with lower price and keep holding next halving again.

Halving is supposed to be for the limitation of mining rewards. This is the same with the actual mining of precious metals and stones. The longer the mining is being done, the scarcer the reward goes because there is only limited resources. Just like Bitcoin, there are limited number of Bitcoins to be mined. Due to this, the value will also grow because of scarcity. This is in theory. In reality, the price is still determined by the public.

Well the public seems to be interested only in what happens to the price before and after this event takes place. More than understanding how and why it happens, a lot us prefer to look at previous halvings and make up speculation that compare this year's and the ones that took place in 2016 and 2012. Though you've put it quite simply there dude.

If the public is interested in the price that could be brought due to halving, there is a possibility that they will choose to HODL instead of sell their Bitcoin. It is because they believe that halving will bring some nice pumps. Especially if they compare the upcoming halving with the previous halvings, they might believe that there is price increase due to it. And as a result, if the majority has the same mindset, there will be a price increase. They're the public after all.

bitcoin growth after 2017 is very difficult to predict, many surprising changes in movement. so many predictions fail. halving will come in a few months. but I doubt, it will guarantee a rise in the price of bitcoin. maybe 50:50 to trust bitcoin to go up. I have several crypto assets that I hold. but I also make backups on money. I don't recommend accumulating your money on bitcoin. just do what you dare to lose. I hope this year's halving will have a good effect on all crypto.

Nothing is certain in talks of future and no one can predict on whats ahead.

-It all matters on your risk management. We know btc is volatile and if you
can afford to risk then its our choice.

-snip- scalpers always wants to have quick benefits and not willing to wait and maximized the potentials
profits but enough with small to decent benefits, as long as they already gained something out from their position they will be happy to repeat
the process over and over.
scalping method becomes very effective to reduce the risk of loss when market conditions do not allow for other methods.
a small profit but always done repeatedly will make the profits that get more leverage.
Scalping method is one method that I like when looking at unstable market conditions, utilizing every increase and decrease in the price of bitcoin or other altcoins.

maybe this will be a little different from the previous halving.
if if the same, it is likely to go down first before halving and a few weeks after halving the price of bitcoin rises continuously.
It would be best of all previous halvings said by the economist. They are very hopeful and spread the good news among the users by predicting that halving would give good and surprising results to all. The price of Bitcoin will rise at a highest point this year, this would be beneficial for all the traders. I am also expecting the same by looking at the present success of Bitcoin in the market.

This is a lot different then the 2012 1/2 ing.

This is somewhat different the the 2016 1/2 ing.

Back in 2012 there were no really big gear companies.

In 2016 bitmain was fairly big in both market share and wealth.

In 2020 bitmain is big in both market share and wealth.

they have a huge interest in price rise to be able to sell gear.

canaan/avalon

whatsminer

innosilicon

all want a price rise to sell their gear.

Newer gear 5nm is coming out very soon.

It may be 20% better then the 37 watt a th gear on market.

so. 37 x .8 = 29-30 watt gear.  if coins are only 9000 selling gear will be hard to do for them.

they all have a huge incentive to push price to 13000 to be able to sell new gear.

I think this 1/2 ing is the first 1/2 ing that many builders will attempt to boost prices hard.

Well, I see Bitcoin in a little progress during this period. Is it the calm ( stability )  before the storm ( halving ) ?
Absolutely yes,  I am pretty sure that the next halving will be the appropriate event for a significant pump of Bitcoin and the same thing for the other followers ( cryptocurrecnies ).
Plus, I would guess that after July, Bitcoin's price will rise to 15K and 20K, but probably our predictions will never happen, everything is possible in this domain. Let's hold and wait.

Interesting, those who bought at the peak now are waiting for the best moment to recover their lost, i used to think that its trend will follow the previous halving, but after seing your opinion about this, I change my mind. Once the price hit the ATH there's gonna be big dip due to those Holders. At least we have to prepare for these two scenarios.

This is the common mindset hodlers commonly have, where traders have different in their minds, traders usually couldn't wait too much but they scalp to earn money, if we apply the principles of being a trader and a hodler, then we could basically maximize profits we could have even before halving happens.
The mindset of the trader will be very useful when this happens. Make use of halving to get a lot of profit. Buy bitcoin at the start with a fairly cheap price then wait for halving to sell it. FOMO will also occur before or after halving. Profits will indeed get more leverage with the principles as a trader and holder, but it must also be remembered that market conditions are unpredictable according to what we predict. must be prepared with all the risks that occur.

Of course we are always ready for what happens with market conditions. I do that with full risk, so we are convinced now and have bought bitcoin earlier.
I am not a long-term trader and I am always happy when there are profits in my coins including bitcoin at this time already for several percent but I am still waiting for the right time because I am sure bitcoin will rise even higher.,

I take this view in a long term perspective. I plan to hold until about a year after the halving until there is a parabolic move up. Then sell hopefully before the correction that will definitely follow.

The coming of bitcoin halving is pretty obvious right now and just as history holds it we are very likely going to see a rise in the price of bitcoin as it is currently. This might be the last time we are seeing bitcoin this cheap so it's good to accumulate as much as you can waiting for a bull run hopefully.

If we track the past history of bitcoin halving before we can see the impact of it to the price, now many are expecting that this year it will be the same thus they are accumulating before it happen.
What I really noticed about the bitcoin's price is not really the market price it have in real time, what I mean is that, bitcoin is achieving greater heights, that is correct, but what is evident is that it doens't mean that halving makes a new All time high, thus, what is being created is the exponential growth of the all time lows we've mostly encounter in bear season.

Its quite normal to have an expectation because of this event but I dont want to rely too much on this. I hodl my btc for long term and if this halving will become the reason to see another bull run then its like a reward for us who patiently wait in times the market is bleeding.

Yes the bitcoin halving will take place by June this year and it will have a positive impact on the price of bitcoin because it will reduce the supply thus creating more demand. This year has started with a positive note for crypto world as bitcoin is performing well if this trend continues then we will see massive pump similar to last bull run.

Bitcoin price already started growing and the growth is pretty positive towards the bull run. In the bull run of 2017, many people came in crypto without having knowledge, so, they are more hype about the upcoming halving, as they Don't know well about it. So, I think after the halving Bitcoin price will grow but it will be dumped quicker than 2017! Because lots of people waiting to recover the losses occurred in 2017!  So, Bitcoin's price many not go enough high! You can buy BTC now, but I would suggest waiting for another dump, this is not the right time for buying Bitcoin!

It's true this year Bitcoin halving is going to happen. Everyone is excited about this halving bitcoin. The reason is that  last Bitcoin halving was occurred in 2016, and the price of bitcoin increased hugely after that halving and we all know that 2017 is the golden year of Bitcoin. From that believe, everyone thinks that after this halving, Bitcoin prices will have an impact. Sort term thinking is not a good point, you must patiently see everything. It took a year after the last halving to see the huge results. It is not right to think that this time and it will be the same as before. We all know that the market goes in the opposite direction of what looks positive.

In my opinion, since the block reward will be reduced by half, the price of bitcoin would have to be adjusted to keep miners interested and and for miners profit. So there is a good chance that something good will happen.

The time to accumulate was at 5k when we broke the bearish trend. Now it's a little more risky because we may not go above 10k this year and even if we do it's not going to be big. Maybe 15k before December?
Of course that still means that you should accumulate just be careful and don't go all in. There's so much manipulation in the price of Bitcoin that it will only take 10 min for you to be significantly down on your investment. Take that into account!

You're right, but you're missing one thing: Bitcoin's max number of coins to ever exist is known. Gold and silver's is not. Maybe one day a huge lot of precious metals will be found under the ground.. the same thing cannot happen to Bitcoin. When 21M coins are going to be mined, nobody will ever be able to recreate another new Bitcoin. Gold might be recreated in the labs one day through science, Bitcoin can't be. I do agree the price is determined by the public though, and I wonder what would the price be if whales were not into the game.

I think bitcoin's price will be affected for sure like in each halving that it happened before. We just noticed that before the halving bitcoin's price decrease and then increase hugely after the halving so that's what probably happen for this year too. I don't expect a big bump of price though, but I just think that bitcoin will increase till 15k after few weeks of the halving and maybe it reaches the 20k$ by the end of 2020 and it will be stable at this range for a few months till it will increase again in 2021, this is my opinion about the halving and bitcoin's movements predictions.

Why wait for February if there's a possible signs that bitcoin may soar more than the predicted price, and yet we're having three days before month of February is going to start. This is the most exciting part for bitcoin to perform a lot better, that's why every another day is our hope for some spikes which will come up a good movement on every market value.

Hi guys.
No doubt about the fact bitcoin halving will definitely be coming up this year.
What do you make up of that event?
What do you think It is gonna be its effect in the price.?
Will you suggest accumulation of bitcoin before the event?

BTCCheersBTC
Honestly, I am not that sure if halving will have an impact on Bitcoin's value but I do recommend that you should really accumulate Bitcoin before the event because even if halving doesn't make any difference you could still HOLD it and wait till it pump. However, I have seen few speculation(not mine) who said that halving will bring a good impact on its price and in the market.

Well, we really have to accumulate bitcoin from now at least we have held bitcoin for the halving event, for the impact of course many predict will be positive about the growth of bitcoin increase but we must also look at the bitcoin movement from now at least we can analyze ourselves then concludes it.
The halving event will be really awaited by many people even though this is not the first time.

I think accumulation phase will happen again, but not much as when it is on last halving. Once again, maybe this is more like speculation. Because people only can predict what can possibly happen, and not exactly will happen in halving. I think halving will still attract people, especially if it look like will reach new ATH, people will start to buy it again.

maybe this will be a little different from the previous halving.
if if the same, it is likely to go down first before halving and a few weeks after halving the price of bitcoin rises continuously.

Accumlate bitcoin but at DIPS. I don't think accumulating bitcoin at current price will be a good idea. What we learned from previous halving is that price has gone, its only guess that this halving will also increase bitcoin price.

Well the public seems to be interested only in what happens to the price before and after this event takes place. More than understanding how and why it happens, a lot us prefer to look at previous halvings and make up speculation that compare this year's and the ones that took place in 2016 and 2012. Though you've put it quite simply there dude.

Yeah bitcon halving will happen this year and it seems like this event has been eagerly awaited by all crypto circles because the effects of halving may have been felt by us from now on, namely the price increase on bitcoin is slowly beginning to rise to the surface. We hope that this situation can continue onward, although surely there will be a correction between these price increases. So do not miss to keep bitcoin in the wallet.

Yes I would suggest to accumulate more before the event since the price usually go up before halving occur.
I also expect the price to reach atleast $13-15K before it happens.
It has always been like that even from the previous halving events,
And if I am not mistaken every halving there would be a BTC clone like BCH and BSV so it would be another reason to accumulate more.

The possible scenario of the price during event was be big differences or might be possible also for the to double. although it is no like 2017 price or surpass it because the hype of that year is already fade and not possible to happen again but for sure for the current price we saw now it will double because halving event is everyone was waiting for.

Everyone are excited to see halving this year, well I am planning to buy a Bitcoin now and wait till halving. Hopefully I can make some good profit, a lot of experts analysis says BTC could reach at least 15k by the end of the year also I did some research on this as well and it seems like the history will repeat again I am just curious to see that again.

If we track the past history of bitcoin halving before we can see the impact of it to the price, now many are expecting that this year it will be the same thus they are accumulating before it happen.

Its quite normal to have an expectation because of this event but I dont want to rely too much on this. I hodl my btc for long term and if this halving will become the reason to see another bull run then its like a reward for us who patiently wait in times the market is bleeding.

Nevertheless we cant certainly predict whats going to happen after so lets just wait and see.

I suspect that a lot of people who invested money into crypto around the end of 2017 will have probably cashed out already.

It takes some strong hands to hodl from those highs. That said, anyone who already sold may have already bought back in to try recoup their losses.

All my friends who've bought in late 2017 haven't sold their BTC, nor have they bought more. I wonder how many of these many addresses holding since 2017 have had any BTC received since then.

I think holding happens more often than selling when a price crash occurs. My friends' mentality is "I'll wait until the price rebounds to an ATH to recover my loss", rather than "Let's buy more to lower the average BTC price I invested at". Remember, many of the late 2017 investors have put their money in BTC hoping to get rich overnight. Unless you sell, you still haven't lost anything basically. You still own the same amount of BTC. This is speaking from my real life experience though, anyone else's could be different..

halving will certainly happen this year because historically half happened every 4 years, so I personally and other investors have previously bought a bit of bitcoin to prepare it because I am sure that when this event occurs, the price of bitcoin will rise to the highest level of all time and set a record new in the world of bitcoin.

If we compare the upcoming block halving of Bitcoin to its previous halvings. This 2020 block halving Bitcoin is not so possible to reach a new all-time high.
If you check previous block halvings, we already see huge upward price actions months before the halvings like 5-10 months before the block halvings.
But now, if we can see, almost 4 months left before halving but we are still on almost half of its all-time-high price.
I am still positive on Bitcoin, even if we don't reach the all-time-high this upcoming block halving, It's okay for me.

Actually it is very obvious that bitcoin is coming this year 2020 as if it always happen every 4 years of the bitcoin or of the cryptocurrency. This probably means that the halving is always happening to control the distribution of the bitcoin all over the world and also to maintain the approximate mining of bitcoins by the miners all over the world.
It definitely affect the price and value of bitcoin because there will be a large impact of it in the liquidity of bitcoin and also to the price as we can see what is happening right now in the current market.

if we talk about halving then its related to bitcoin supply. While its gets less by half per block, it will affect surely but not taking so fast since it needs time for people to know that supply gets cut and if demand gets rise, the price will be going up too. That's the scenario we know, but u know something not always people think. In 2016 it needs about a year to make a movement, in 2012 too more or less. So don't assume it will get rocket as soon halving arrive.

Yes it will be going to happen this year around June. after bitcoin halving we can expect the one more time bitcoin can be reach again all time high. because we can see how pervious bitcoin halving has gives very good move for bitcoins and crypto market.

May, not June.

As far as the fiat price goes, unchanged or increased demand and a decrease of new supply, should lead to a higher price eventually. Whether that is before the halving due to anticipation or months after the halving due to the anticipation already occurring is anyone's guess.  In short, no one knows, it is just guessing.
Bitcoin halving in middle May and looks become good moment see bitcoin on the top price, we got bigger time with bitcoin and altcoin back to their place on higher price for giving optimist to many investors have been long time holding bitcoin and altcoin, I think when halving time bitcoin can back to higher price.

At the past 2 halvings, the price of Bitcoin has increase dramatically.  I know history does not necessarily mean the same thing will happen again, but it just makes sense that as the mining reward decreases, the price increases.

History plays a big role in the future events. Like for instance, the past halvings had a good impact in the market boosting the marketcap to reach new price high's specifically Bitcoin. Investors and traders will expect the same would happen, thus accumulating more would give them the mentality of harvesting good profit. This will become a trend everytime the BTC halving comes every 4 years as long as it will leave positive impact in the market.

People like me expect increase in the price of bitcoin. With less supply and more demand in the market will make bitcoin pump and surely it will results to more investors to be attracted and invest in it. Hopefully this year will be another year for cryptos just like what happened on the year 2017.

I believe there might be a difference due to the wave of new investors. We've got +1M addresses still holding their coins... so when the next cycle comes, these address might become active. If they do, it'll probably be a huge selloff from those who invested @20k.

I'm going for two scenarios: Bitcoin will either go through the same cycle it went in 2016 & 2012 or this time would be different.

On the other side, it could go through the past cycles which means a parabolic price increase followed by a bear market for a long term.. I'm ready for both scenarios anyway. I'll just accumulate alts & BTC and be ready to ride the next cycle the right way. Grin
