What a nice read you've got us into  Wink
But what's the point for you to advocate?
Do you consider yourself being an infringement victim?

The way I operate /r/Bitcoin is consistent with self-ownership. /r/Bitcoin is a private, centralized website. I am free to operate it as I wish. I am under no ethical obligation to allow total free speech just because I believe in self-ownership. And you are free to either convince me otherwise or go elsewhere. This doesn't give me any inherent control over Bitcoin, except the ability I have to

As for me it's all clear after that...

I dont think it is advisible to share conversations publicly without consent of all parties.

You can send to lawyers and others for review but you should keep private information that was meant to be private.

Just bringing this up to remind everybody how much of a star Theymos is  Cheesy Grin
Although the written moderation policy remains unchanged, discussions regarding alternate implementations that could result in contentious hard forks have been allowed on r/bitcoin and in the main sections on bitcointalk. Although, disappointingly, I was disallowed from being able to post on r/bitcoin about a hotfix to a BU exploit.

He actually responded to you appropriately OP. I would have stopped talking and ignored you a long time ago. You obviously don't want to talk or engage objectively about XT or censorship and instead want to trap theymos into saying something inflammatory

I wasn't talking to Theymos, smartie

I didn't catch that, thanks. Either way, you are supporting what he is saying in trying to villainize theymos, so my point still stands.

Although I don't support any kind of censorship, or deleting of posts related to XT (or whatever BIP, or any other future client implementing a BIP), theymos is right, he knows all to well the power of moderation, as he moderates many things. Nothing wrong with what he said in the logs I saw, taking in account what the other user wrote him.

People downvoted theymos' comment. Here it is...

This subbreddit is rather engaging in self censorship.

That subbreddit was engaging in lots of things beginning with self, with the top comment (+114)

At least I understand the difference between moderation and censorship.

Bitcoin is *not* "anti-fragile" as many people say. Its decentralized/transparent/secure nature provides a lot of inherent strength, but in the end it relies on the people who use Bitcoin to behave at least somewhat correctly.

Hmmm, makes sense, this Theymos chappie could go a long way....

Theymos has already travelled a long way. From 4chan to BitcoinTalk is not a small journey...

I remember bitcointalk tolerating not only all kinds of crazyness in politics&society, but allkinds of scammers as well, for the principle of free speech. And it impressed me. But try to fork Bitcoin for allowing larger blocks, now all ideals are thrown away?
