Yes, bitcoin is certainly like a fine wine as its value continue to appreciate in time and its utility cases has improved  compared when it was still starting. So it really gets better in time as it continue to progress in every year that comes. While fiat is seen depreciating its value and is starting to lose its essence as a currency, bitcoin on one hand is flourishing and shows continuous progress throughout the years.

However, although we cannot tell that bitcoin has already become mainstream these days, but seeing its promotion is growing and it’s blockchain is gaining more development, then bitcoin could be perfectly compared to a fine wine.

By character, Bitcoins performance should be compared to that of a wine 🍷 as a figure of speech because that's how it behaves anyway...

But honestly it's easier to say if you didn't experience the ATH crash as bitcoin had its best run ever but lost its character so easily going down as low as ~$30K, and today whatever we seeing is all part of the recovery process that many have waited for to get back up..

I just believe that after this next halving it will gets even better, and now is the best time to DCA into Bitcoin, because the reward will be worthy of the wait.
Waiting for the green light when things look rosy is among the reasons bitcoin can't hold its value because everyone knows when to buy and scape for some short term profit and it's the wrong approach as you buy bitcoin at a premium!!!!

Why not buy the lows when price dips or crashes which guarantees the investor of getting discounted Bitcoin and opportunity to make better profits is increased.

But am really confidence that it will get even better from it value, popularity and adoption because it's a fine wine 🍷 that gets better with age.

Seems everything is lining up in its favour 👌

I like the idea behind that statement.
And bitcoin will outperfom any wine price growth for sure.
Especially if devs will be ready to improve it

There is no doubt Bitcoin is only getting better day by day and the earlier we start doing DCA the better it would be and I am happy to say I had been doing DCA since last year and it has helped me accumulate enough BTC but still most of us don't utilize these benefit as they are either too quick to cashout or panic selling. The major challenge here is we do buying and selling but we don't do DCA or atleast we should have a percentage of Bitcoin saved for future while cashing out and should never cashout 100% of BTC.
If you know BTC 5 years ago, you will know that BTC is better than it was before and, the current price in this new year has show that we will experience what we have never experience before in the market and it will lead us to profits making season soon. BTC has helped many users in different countries of the world and it will still help those that are going to invest and those that has invested before to feel more benefits of BTC.

Who told you people don't buy BTC or sell , there are many buyers in the community which they have started buying BTC some years ago to ensure there are BTC in their wallets to sell when the price increase higher in the market and, it will be difficult for such people to know poverty in their home.

Bitcoin is really a fine wine,🍷 because it gets better with age, since it creation, it has progress significantly into an asset that is worth having,  from the days when it's value was not even up to $100 to now that it's over $42000 plus, I just believe that after this next halving it will gets even better, and now is the best time to DCA into Bitcoin, because the reward will be worthy of the wait.
Bitcoin is more than wine. Able to maintain value since it was first created so people are addicted to it even though some people think altcoins are better because they are cheap to get.
Good wine, even though it is small, the taste is very delicious. It's different from cheap wine, even though there's a lot of it, it's not delicious.
People who have tasted the pleasure of quality expensive wine will try to continue to have it in large quantities and DCA is the best way. Not enough glass.

Of course, life in the Bitcoin field is just a matter of hope without us knowing the direction of trust that we must have to be able to go beyond the information that everyone assumes only with the form of situations that lead us without doubt to believe in ourselves in the numbers above. under 100k or below that.

The impact of the problem remains as usual in bitcoin, only with the price falling without us knowing what the market conditions are.
A decrease in price which is influenced by uncertain market conditions is quite normal in Bitcoin because when there is an increase in price there will definitely be a decrease, even if it is only a small correction as has been seen recently in the market. And I don't think this is a problem that needs to be thought about because price corrections can also be used by many people which can also have an impact on further increases. As for whether someone believes in Bitcoin or not, I think it really depends on the level of knowledge and data they have seen on Bitcoin itself.

Bitcoin is bigger than a fine wine Bitcoin is a very valuable currency and once Bitcoin is used properly it will never find it convenient to use any other currency. Bitcoin is beneficial for both trading and investing activities Every investor crosses their path of success through Bitcoin investing. It is true that we are getting a lot more than what we bargained for, it should be considered as something that would benefit everyone, it could be a lot more important if we know what we are doing. I believe that we are going to end up with a bit of a better situation without a doubt.

I think the way it has grown and became something big is quite important, and it could definitely be something that would benefit us all. It Is not really a great big deal if we couldn't grow even bigger than this, a life where bitcoin is stuck under 100k, the biggest it goes is to like 90k's and doesn't go beyond 100k is still not terrible, but even with that information, I am sure that it will definitely pass beyond that for sure.
For the most maybe, but for some, they don't know how to bargain and HODL. They still can benefit if they will use BTC as a currency but not all countries have legalized BTC.

Yes, if we want to improve and get out of trouble, it is important to know what we are doing or going to do. We can ask someone or make our own research about it. The growth of BTC is important for both hodlers and active currency users, as it makes the price rise and the support of BTC wider. If in case BTC didn't go this far, yes we still accept it. At least the founder or his coin tried their best to offer us something out of the box which are also very useful and profitable.

Funny comparison of bitcoin with wine. Did you know that even good wine, if left too long, becomes vinegar - not suitable for drinking? Smiley Shitcoins, for example, become vinegar very quickly.Smiley

Bitcoin if you buy at the wrong time (during a bullish trend) and hold it too long, it will also turn into vinegar (during a bearish trend). I don’t know if it will be possible to hold bitcoin indefinitely and every year it will only get better (more expensive and more valuable).

As we can see, this wine only gets better with each halving. The question is how many of these cycles bitcoin can survive without turning into vinegar. Money (value) from the global economy doesn't come from nowhere and this resource is also finite. How much cash injection does it take for bitcoin to peak? How long will this continue and how soon will it stop? Admiration for the bitcoin is good, but let's look at things soberly.

I'm curious about 14 year olds understanding good wine, but you've made an interesting comparison through your own perspective. Bitcoin is becoming more and more convincing as acceptance is gradually increasing, the process of its emergence up to now has been a complicated journey that at times seemed like it was just a silly model but until now presently it has partly kicked away the opposing thoughts. Like talking about alcohol, maybe for me, as a person who doesn't often drink alcoholic beverages, I don't understand the delicious taste of it, but I know it has passionate loves like the analogy of absolute love for children, acceptance and trying to cultivate good things to accompany them.

Anyway, the future journey with bitcoin will still be very long. From the perspective of knowing what I have received, I am quite optimistic about the future that bitcoin will be of interest to everyone. The coming periods will probably be dramatic as we have gone through many ups and downs, and are heading towards a bullish cycle.

I think it's even more than fine wine. Bitcoin too has many benefits for those who understand how Bitcoin works. Bitcoin is very profitable for us traders and investors. when I was even still in school I could support myself just by working with bitcoin then trading then investing this was too fun it felt like sometimes I wanted to always want to party to see bitcoin on the rise. I even feel happy for how many years I have been with Bitcoin. I think this year is an interesting halving.

In short, Bitcoin was created for the long term, just like basic economics (supply and demand).
Satoshi Nakamoto is just smart because he/she made Bitcoin to stay and have value as time goes by.
Another thing about Bitcoin behaved like a fine wine is because it will make feel you better and will help you to sleep well  Wink

it. DCA strategy is
The Bitcoin market has never experienced the level of institutional Investment that the Spot Bitcoin ETF will attract. And this event might coincide with the halving which might make the market keep pumping. The market now seems unpredictable and it is possible not to experience any significant drop in price until we enter the bull run proper.
It is true that there are more institutional investors who are to come into bitcoin through bitcoin ETF, which is going to bring a higher price to bitcoin. There is no doubt about that, but we still don't need to give too much hype to what might happen, as we also need to think about it the other way around.

Because of the hype of bitcoin halving and the ETF approval, which brings the price upward, there could also be some possibility that after the halving or after the ETF has been approved, the price might drop much more than we can imagine, as those who bought and some of the institutional investors could take advantage of the hype and sell massively during the pump, which can cause a market drop. It could happen, and it will take time before the price will correct back to normal.

As many have said, there are many roads to Rome, and bitcoin is no different. No entity can stop the advancement of bitcoin technology except a global nuclear war that can destroy the infrastructure. So the analogy as you say is interesting comparing bitcoin to wine. The longer the better, the longer Bitcoin will be a valuable asset, even a rare asset if one day all bitcoins are successfully mined.

So it is not surprising that many people who already understand Bitcoin will continue to use dca on Bitcoin because they believe that Bitcoin will make their finances stronger in the future and of course they will be richer.

Wine tastes better with age, the older they get the better they taste and the same thing can be said about Bitcoin because as it's getting older, it's price will increasing due to its characteristics of have a fixed supply and also the halving effect that reduced the circulation of Bitcoin coming into the market for trading. For a 14 years old invention and for a currency, I believe Bitcoin has done very for for itself but due to the high expectations from new investors it seems Bitcoin hasn't achieved anything and they keep asking for more.

With time Bitcoin would be unrecognizable as it'll become a better version of itself than its current form, more development will be added and the fees problem will become an old.news as it'll be no longer a problem. We're very early in the history of Bitcoin and it would be unwise for we to miss owning Bitcoin which is a more concrete point why we should be investing in Bitcoin. Buy and hodl but not being in a rush to sell for small profits that can't match the profit we would get from hodling for long like the early investors that's are still hodling upto this day.

Wine gets better with time, Bitcoin becomes profitable with time so the choice is yours to make it you'll be among those enjoying the profits of hodling Bitcoin or be on the other side.

I don't see it as a wine, Rather, I would liken it to honey rather than wine, because the older honey gets, the more precious it is. the start is always taken from the first step and as any product climbs the ladder of success, its value and importance also increases. so the price of Bitcoin was negligible at the start, but now many people want to buy Bitcoin, but don't have the buying power.

You can still do DCA, but the best time to do DCA was when the market was falling, now the market is recovering. It may happen that at the price you buy now, you will have to make the next purchase at a higher price instead of a lower price. so I don't think DCA will be more suitable now. no one can say anything about the future with certainty, but everyone has the same guesses that Bitcoin can prove to be an excellent asset in the coming time.

Bitcoin is really a fine wine,🍷 because it gets better with age,

You're right, however, we must never forget to realize that a new wine should be put in a new wine skin, you need to always get yourself updated about Bitcoin, be security conscious, understand what you're doing and know that as Bitcoin is very nice and lucrative to be with, same also it can appear so boring and disappointing if we fail to learn about what we should have known about bitcoin.

It's indeed like a fine wine looking at the age and performance since its invention and when you compare Bitcoin with Assets like Gold, very young but great performance. It is very clear that BTC is becoming more valuable and acceptable because of its usability, if you check the rate of institutional interest lately, there is a drastic increase on their side showing it credibility. I wonder what would be the price of Bitcoin with more adoption in the future, next 10, 20–30 years from here when more people who are yet to join the trend get on board.

Comparing this analogy to bitcoin because over time it is more valuable and it is a better quality wine.

That's what I'm still doing by DCA to bitcoin even though the current price is $45K the return is still worth what we get later especially in this year and next year 2025 it will be a moment or event prices will definitely go up, so I want to hoard bitcoin the same as wine which the longer it is hoarded the more expensive it will be.

It's only been 14 years and what we've seen has really changed the world in part by affecting some economies financially they like it.

I think the analogy is correct to a large extent because Bitcoin keeps getting better as it gets older. Sometimes the price fluctuates and reduces to a large extent but the good thing about it is that it will always recover. Hopefully, the price will beat its current ATH by next year and investors will be able to gain some profit. DCA strategy is the best if one intends to invest in Bitcoin because it is convenient and reduces the level of risk. But buying a lump sum when the price has dropped to a large extent will not be a bad idea if you have the funds to invest.

$42k is among the highest prices it has reached, not its ATH. I believe after the halving we might see a new ATH, but that' won't happen immediately; it might take some time, and we might even see some drop in price before the initial price pushes up. We just have to hold what we can and see how it goes. Not having too much expectation will reduce the disappointment many might get as a result of them not seeing the price they believe it will reach at a certain time.

The Bitcoin market has never experienced the level of institutional Investment that the Spot Bitcoin ETF will attract. And this event might coincide with the halving which might make the market keep pumping. The market now seems unpredictable and it is possible not to experience any significant drop in price until we enter the bull run proper.

your analogy about bitcoin being like fine wine is very true, where it gets better the longer you hold it in your wallet. we can see that since it was launched by satoshi until now it has increased tens of thousands of percent and it is not an exaggeration to say that bitcoin is the best digital asset to invest in.

the potential of bitcoin is undeniable and its adoption will increase in the future, and if holders want to experience the best taste of bitcoin then they have to invest in it for a long period of time, either with dca or with a lump sump, they can choose which is the best investment strategy for their investment.

It's true that we can liken Bitcoin to fine wine that gets better as time passes, because it has continued to proof it's worth from the time of it's creation, it's value has continued to increase till today. I remember when it came on board as the first digital currency, people were very skeptical about it, many thought that it was a Ponzi scheme or a scam and after sometime it'll vanish with it's investors hard earned money. Today Bitcoin has proven critics wrong, many of them have turned believers and started it's investment, better late than never because they've seen that it's acceptance, adoption and profitability keeps increasing, and they can predict that it will keep getting better as time goes by. Bitcoin investment also gets better and sweeter if kept for a longer time.

It's like a fine wine in terms of adoption I believe. Not on it's price because bitcoin is still volatile, it could pump and dump any time, and it cannot be said it's consistent like a fine wine which there is an assurance that it would taste better as it age.

As believer of its potential, we should focus on its adoption rather than it's price as currently we aren't at the peak, we are still lower than the current ATH.

I like this comparison. Bitcoin is indeed getting more valuable with time, although I'm not sure that it's working better than it used to (considering that the overload of transactions is sometimes leading to issues that weren't there before). Adoption is happening at a slow pace, but there's still a lot of potential there. The comparison is optimistic, but it's the start of a new year, so perhaps a good time to be hopeful and to expect Bitcoin to actually get better over time. Not just more expensive, but also better in terms of usability and reputation.

I think just like most other assets, they developed overtime like Gold. But the thing with Bitcoin though is that it is the first, the prime mover and so everyone jump on the bandwagon and it's throughout it's young infancy, and as far as the price goes it has developed and now we are entering another block halving, and so for sure we will be looking for a new all time high again.

Let's see in the next 14 years, and yes maybe it will really grow as we expected and the value itself will be like in the 6 digits, or as you describe it, a fine wine, a highest quality crypto.

Right now, it's just a 14 years old teenager still trying to find it feet in terms of adoption all over the world.
But am really confidence that it will get even better from it value, popularity and adoption because it's a fine wine 🍷 that gets better with age.

I like the comparison & I definitely agree that Bitcoin is like a fine wine. It becomes more esteemed & more valuable as time passes. I guess the question to many holders is how long can you hold it without opening/selling to enjoy it’s flavour. No, being serious, Bitcoin continues to increase in value & gain increasing widespread adoption. It won’t be long before it is unaffordable for even the middle class to own even one Bitcoin.

It has indeed matured and evolved over the years, gaining value and recognition and its early achievements are undeniable. DCA is a patient move to savor the rewards later, and the long-term investment strategy for Bitcoin is the most successful in this volatile market. The upcoming halving event is indeed anticipated to bring about significant changes, and it’s exciting to think about the potential rewards for those who choose to DCA into Bitcoin now. I’m confident in its future growth, not just in terms of value but also in popularity and adoption.

Bitcoin gave up a lot of opportunities for so many people that believe in it. Yes,  it started as a low-priced coin, but who knows that it will skyrocket and become more popular? As we know, its technology is unique and was created by Satoshi, which leaves a legacy for all of us. Over the years, bitcoin has kept on growing because it has a good road map and technology, and also because many people are believing it, which contributes to bitcoin's growth.

As long as bitcoin is being mined and many people are still investing in it, it will keep on growing and give more opportunities to a lot of people. Bitcoin is complex and hard to study, but with effort and time, you will be rewarded. You just have to have patience and keep on growing. It's still not too late to invest in bitcoin, so beginners and those who are wary of investing should take the risks.

Good analogy we can also look at it as an investment a good wine requires a long time to reach a certain wanted taste so depending on your goal is how you decide how long will you store a wine if you have already invested in bitcoin, the longer you hold it the better just like wine however at the end of the day it all depends on your goal

OP you are right in a few different ways.

Bitcoin gets better with age

Some people like buwaytress above like to drink and savor it / use it when its ready, others
like to HODL it for a more important occasion or even collect it for a longer time.

Some people are very enthusiastic about getting involved and others are experts and can
distinguish  between what is vinegar$hitcoins and what is Fine WineBitcoin

Others who are not in the know or not experienced think its 'corked'

Well fine wine it is but don't ingest too much as it could get you drunk. Bitcoin is a good choice for investment and from the looks of it, it will continue to grow. From 2009 to 2024, that's a long journey Bitcoin have made in order to reach what it is today. It was not a smooth journey, there were ups and downs as well in it. Those who were successful of taking advantage of these ups and downs, are the people who are real bitcoiners.
Thinking Bitcoin has a fine wine and keeping it stored not checking when to take advantage can be a foolish decision. Yes it is a fine wine but you need to have a test every now and then in order to understand how good it has become. You should never miss any opportunity if it's in front of you. We need to learn this as well if we want to be as successful Bitcoin user.

Almost like fine wine, most people who want it or can afford it, know not enough about it to distinguish between fine and not-so-fine wine Wink Hence why so many think alts are superior.

I'm happy to drink good wine, I think gourmet flavours are not for my palette. Also happy to have sommeliers tell me Bitcoin's aging great Wink

Debatable though, because I have heard that persian carpets and most notably women get better as they age and mature, on the other hand, we have Bitcoin, as it ages more and more people realize there is something they haven't screwed yet, so they come and try their best, one could mention ordiballs, erc20 whatnot and other garbage out there. 😉

Indeed, bitcoin has shown its potential over the past years, starting when I met it at a high price compared to what it was when others entered the market. The price was earlier even below $1, and it took a gradual process to get to where it is right now, which is an amazing movement.

Bitcoin did not come this far on its own; the growth result has been a replica of how many people believe in it, and it has continued to grow, and it will still see more even with all the internal and external challenges that the currency does face from time to time, which sometimes leads to price drops and, after a while, a price correction.
