Flux in value might deter some major companies as if the value drops they lose money. If this becomes a thing, it would be pretty cool

Anything is possible with Bitcoin. Anything fiat does, Bitcoin can do better. We should have Bitcoin health insurance, auto insurance, home insurance, etc.

So far I haven't heard about any bitcoin health insurance yet but yes you are correct, this is actually a good idea in the near future if bitcoin will be accepted as an digital currency and of course if the government would allow it too. But that's too far to tell yet but then again, we will never know too maybe tomorrow someone might create that idea and turn it into an ICO.  Roll Eyes

Are there any major american health care insurance providers that accept bitcoins? If not, could this be a good idea in the future?
Dude do you think that you will spend  every thing using  bitcoin?  Like you can't expect  every thing  to paid and received only in the form of bitcoin  . Even now most of the places don't accept debit / credit cards, and you are asking for bitcoin.  Just convert your bitcoin to  fiat and use it for your expenditure .

Bitcoin no, using the blockchain technology: there are some starts up but they are still in a development phase or research for most of them. For example, AXA invested several millions dollars with Blockstream. Dynamisapp is one of them, using the ETH platform but I don't know how they are doing since

Haven't heard of insurance company accepting Bitcoin at this point of time. But I am definitely looking forward to seeing Bitcoin as a payment mode. I think it is a good idea.

I've never heard one but soon, there should be. It's a great idea if health insurance companies will accept bitcoin payment. This way, the contribution of the members will remain safe and thoroughly recorded in a ledger. The incident of corruption is less, better yet, gone.

I don't think there are any health insurance out in the market that accept Bitcoin as payment, and with the volatility in the values of Bitcoin, it is quite difficult to set a fix monthly payment in terms of USD, if I were the customer and I have purchased Bitcoin at the rates of $4300 USD and if the price of Bitcoin dropped down to $3800, I would lose out a lot of money to pay for that month insurance payment because I have to send more BTC in terms of USD.
