I currently have 3% of a Bitcoin having started dollar cost averaging in June after the crash.

It is not a lot but it is slowly growing and I have many other Altcoins I am invested in so can't put everything into Bitcoin.

I am wondering what everyone thinks this the price of Bitcoin can realistically get to? $100k? $250k? $500k? $1m?

I am happy holding Bitcoin for the next 10 years or more if it reaches these prices above.

I am just debating if I should continue to DCA into Bitcoin or sell all and put into stronger altcoins which will see better ROI over the next few years.

Bitcoin is my Favourite altcoins in whole cryptocurrency World because no one can predict it's price and also no one tell the price will go up in the future. It is wondering it's price hit $100k. It is possible in next few years I think 2025.

Bitcoin is always difficult to guess so that it makes us always curious, I'm sure that the future trends will be positive so that we are worthy As now then the best thing is to continue buying so we have the opportunity to get a big profit.

Regarding people's predictions about Bitcoin will reach $100k also based on the history of Bitcoin price changes. They do a comparison of every time the price changes after the bull and bear market.
Many think that BTC will reach $100k very realistic when compared to the previous ATH which was at $60k. I also believe that BTC will be very likely to release new ATH as we were able to identify that once the market has hit its lowest price in this period, there is great potential for new ATH in the future.

Bitcoin is not an altcoin. Bitcoin is still Bitcoin, while altcoins are other than Bitcoin. If you say Bitcoin is your favorite altcoin, then that's the wrong sentence. Unless you mention that BNB is your favorite altcoin.

Since the price has decreased to $17k , it will be difficult for the price to reach $100k or $250k before the end of next year 2023, but the price will surely reach $100k in 2024 for those that bought when the price is low to use the opportunity to sell and earn well.

If the price reach $1m in the next ten years or above, it will really bring a good income to you in future, which is the best price many long term holders are waiting to see before they can visit the market to be part of the celebration.

This is the kind of question where some people have struggled about. But selling your Bitcoin in exchange for alts that you think could potentially gave you ROI might be a bit risky than just continuing to DCA in the next 10 years. Of course you might wanna plan how you DCA and avoid buying during the peak of the bull season.
IMO, the most realistic price Bitcoin could get in the next 10 years would be above $100k for sure. It could even get to $200k.
I'm not a so called expert but that's the least most realistic price prediction for Bitcoin. Now, If you've continue DCAing over the next 10 years, imagine how much you'll get when you decide to settle down.
That is true, alts could make you some profit if you are lucky about it but if you are not then it’s not going to really work out in the long run. The best thing to do would be making sure that you DCA for as long as possible, if you can do it for 10 years that would be great, but anything lower or higher would be good too as long as you keep on holding.

It’s clear that not many people will be able to actually make a profit from this situation because they can't hold it and get panicked and sell, but the reality is that people who have "diamond hands" will be the ones that profit from the situation. I am not going to sell anytime soon unless there is a better thing I can invest into, and if I won't find any, will hold for at least a decade, more if I can.

If you have funds to spare for doing so then just go and also if you have trust btc all the way. But saying that you are holding for 10yrs or more then go for it. Just dont expect a lot of what figure it could be cause no one could really know if btc will be a great investment but one thing is for sure. 10 yrs from now the people who dont uses btc are probably stepping up on using it.
From The what we hve notice so far in cryptocurrency investment and especially bitcoin is that the longer the investment time duration or time frame the tendency of Bitcoin changing value's, because i believe that bitcoin as well market price is specific or stagnant and you can't depend on the price value today, so from my observation concerning investment, bullish market can hit the investment, and the investor will make profit, so it's dependable the bearish market and bullish market, and also dependable to the investors.

There's no need to debate about continuing with DCA or selling everything and putting in a stronger altcoin because it all depends on how confident you are in investing in bitcoin. If you can see the benefits of investing in bitcoin over altcoins, you will choose to invest in bitcoin as your main focus and make altcoins your next focus. You will also definitely continue DCA by investing in bitcoin and not investing too much in other altcoins. Maybe you can buy some altcoins but your focus remains on adding more bitcoins to your wallet so that, in the future, you can sell bitcoins for a big profit. You also have the added advantage of altcoins as some altcoins may increase at a higher rate than their current price.

realistically ? bitcoin can reach 100k even a million , this has been answered for long time now , the only thing that matter is when this will happen.

that is the only thing that we can assume for now.

but while you created this topic about How High bitcoin can , another thread created asking about how fast it can fall lol

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-fast-will-bitcoin-fall-down-5419180

observe the market , check the graphs and learn from it.
There's a same topic like this before but the answers on that thread are not sure because none of us can time travel and see if what's coming next. Last ath of btc was only $69k and that was even far from $100k to say that $100k can occur but many people are optimistic about it so let's give them a benefit of the doubt but sorry not for the million dollars for now.

Maybe if btc reach $690k then they can start on assuming for that. Not all are the same when it comes to bitcoin speculations. That is why there are threads which are completely opposite to this thread we have here. Btc is unpredictable so each sides are always possible to happen.

and whether it can last until bitcoin reaches higher and higher prices. My guess is the OP and a few others will only stop holding when bitcoin hits ATH before.

The question of how high the bitcoin price should also be included about the specified timeframe, if only asking how high it would be there would be no time limit. because in each analysis there will be a measured time span so that it will be seen how prices will occur in the future according to the predictions made.

It is indeed a risky currency to invest with it is still very volatile, it may not be a good decision but if you are confident in your trading then I believe it will be fine.

If I have a BTC Asset I will Hold it as much as I can until the price returns to normal.

I am a big fan of BTC.

stronger altcoins

Declaring some other blockchain stronger then Bitcoin would be quite controversial a topic to try and establish.  Its unlikely we find anything superior mean time but possibly a more speculative higher growth product can appear that outperforms BTC, it will be at far higher risk.   Typically its best to mine the very newest projects and gain entry that way, thats a whole different subject to discussing BTC price hence we generally divide the two topics.

All of the above price speculations can happen in the long term of course $100k can easily reached in the next bull market if we based on history of bitcoin price, btc is getting scarce everyday as btc adoption is growing really fast, I cannot advise selling bitcoin and buying altcoins, you are correct take a dca every dip and hold it, buy altcoins if you have some funds to allocate for them but not selling your btc.

Yes, long term is what we are looking at here in crypto, specially that in bitcoin there is what we call a cycle. But there could be speculators, who day trade and try to squeeze money in their own way. I guess there is nothing with that strategy except that you really need to work very hard as compare to just buying in the dip and accumulating and holding for longer term or at least one cycle here (bull/bear).
Buying on a downturn is not a problem at all as long as the one buying is the best like Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin price recovery is still very possible and those who try to hold more Bitcoin will also be very good for price resilience in the market, than those who always try to sell when they see a small profit.

I'm sure the price increase on Bitcoin will still occur before the new year arrives, and I think it's still good to hold Bitcoin for now before deciding to sell at a price that might be better than now. So there is no harm in those who are still patiently waiting for the bull to arrive in the market to get more profit from Bitcoin that has been held for months or years.

Do not expect much in the short term but in the long term Yes, it is certain that after ten years the price of Bitcoin will be many times the current price I cannot accurately predict how much it will be but it could reach a million dollars, at the moment the best thing is to continue to accumulate Bitcoin at price levels Different and steadily waiting for that time to come, during this time comes a lot of opportunities by altcoin you can take advantage of profits to accumulate more bitcoin in your wallet.

An altcoin is just for speculation or you can say for quick profits. Check out CMC history of the list of top cryptocurrencies. The top 10 currencies changed their position except for bitcoin. Whales use altcoin to play pump dump games with retail investors. They mostly do this in a bull market and sell off their altcoin to buy more bitcoin in a bear market. Why do you want to do the opposite?

I haven't thought about how high the bitcoin price will be but what is clear, the bitcoin price has been at the $69k level and if we talk about the future, there is a possibility that the bitcoin price will touch above $100k or even $1 million. If you want to hold bitcoin for the next 10 years or can reach a price above, I think you better choose a bitcoin price that can reach that price because it is more realistic. Or you can also choose when the bitcoin price can exceed the last ATH price then you start selling your bitcoins. That way, you can get a big profit and invest in bitcoin again if the price drops sharply again. But if you still want to hold bitcoins for the next 10 years, maybe you don't sell your bitcoins at the highest bitcoin price level because your target is the next 10 years.

Bitcoins are limited in number, that means no more Bitcoins can be created. So this makes Bitcoins very rare assets like gold. So as the time passes, more people will know about it and develop interest in possessing it. So this will lead to increase in demand of Bitcoins. As Bitcoins are limited in number and the demand increases, this will lead to the price rise and it won’t stop. More people will be willing to pay more amount in order to get those Bitcoins. Hope this clarifies it OP.

Well its very very hard to project into 10 years forward. We can't exactly assess where crypto markets can go because its still young, relatively new thing. In my opinion Bitcoin can go to somewhere like 250k dollars for sure. But its not important where it can go. We should worry if it can stay there. I mean if it sits at 250k usd but then drops to thousan dollars in a day means its shit. I don't think this will happen by the way. But I wanna say Bitcoin's price stability is very important.

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Investors, on the contrary, try to shift from altcoins to bitcoin, while you have the opposite. Or have you still not understood that altcoins are not suitable for long-term investment due to the fact that they are too centralized and subject to various hacks and exploits? Altcoins are good for medium-term investments, but then they still lose 90-99% of their value. Of course, there are good examples of altcoins that rise in price over time, such as LTC, ETH, DOGE, etc., but shifting liquidity from bitcoin into them would be extremely stupid. Name at least one advantage of any altcoin over a distance of 5-10 years that bitcoin does not have. If you cannot answer this question, then there is no point in leaving bitcoin for altcoins.
Not all but there are indeed some options we could take because not all people could really take that kind of holding for very long time in case they do go all in with Bitcoin.
Some would really be having reconsiderations on finding another options which i cant really blame others on making diversification on altcoins which im also doing it.
Speaking about Bitcoins value on how high its price could eventually go then it would really be totally depending because it all matters with the demand and recognition
on the community. It could be affected on some other factors and this is what makes too unpredictable.

There is some kind of contradiction of belief and decision in your post. If you are strongly sure that you want to hold a coin for the next 10 years why not go all for bitcoin? You are talking about 10 years and you are still saying of selling off your bitcoin to buy a strong altcoin. Are you sure the altcoin is going to last till 10yrs?
Besides, I am not even a fan of saying the amount of years you want to leave your investment. If you buy bitcoin now and bitcoin manages to make a new all-time high at $70k, sell off your bitcoin and wait for another opportunity. I could be wrong but it could also be a wise decision

Bitcoin has proven its high profitability a lot of times so you should never doubt it and continue to do DCA because it’s the right thing to do. And to think that it’s value always seen increasing in time, then there are really high chances that it could reach above $100k and beyond. But telling what future price in particular, no one can tell about it. Bitcoin has always high volatility, so it never gives fixed and certain price as always.

Hearing people talk about the price of Bitcoin reaching $100k, $250k, even $500k might seem strange. The feeling of something impossible happening. But Bitcoin can exceed that price limit. It will even reach $1 million. Of course the high price requires a long process. Or we can say with a natural phenomenon that will change the price of Bitcoin to reach $ 1 million. Like the bullrun process last year, it seemed as if the Bitcoin price would not reach $50k, but in reality the Bitcoin price passed $50k.

There's nothing wrong about the target or expected price of OP, those numbers are always possible because for example from $1 to $69,000(all-time high) of Bitcoin happened so, I believe that $100,000 and above is still possible but it will take time, it will not happen in just a short period of time, I want also to make it happen in a healthy way.
Yeah right, I want it to happen in a healthy way too but people are too excited perhaps they can't wait that long til Bitcoin hits the $100k. I believe Bitcoin will head there or even more in the future but for now let's just ride what's the market best to offer. We are now in a bear market and so it's the time for accumulation or do some DCA depends on how someone would manage to make some profit during this recession.

I take it you have bought 0.03BTC till date. You are doing good if you are buying it with DCA in mind. I would suggest accumulating more till you reach a selling level at which point sell to recover some of your investment and add that to make more BTC.

Realistically I expect bitcoin to at least cross it's last all time high if not 50k USD should be a high selling point. But true bitcoin believers will make targets close to 1mil and never sell.

Altcoins are only a diversion to your money. Don't go too much into them even if you feel that they might do good because they wont. Altcoins are never going to be as big as Bitcoin. Check the charts of Bitcoin and your selected altcoins and you will know the truth. Also to get that good returns, you need the the long term profit from bitcoin not short term altcoin gains.

Here I completely agree, it would be interesting to hear about which altcoins stronger than bitcoin the author says. But as time shows, there are no altcoins as powerful as bitcoin. As for the potential price that the author is talking about, it all depends on how positive the political and marketing influence will be, and what kind of reputation Bitcoin will have, I think we will definitely see an increase to 100,000.
The bear market isn't over yet but there's no doubt about $100k for Bitcoin prices in the future as well, it's just that we're still waiting for a real bottom to be reached,
because we know a lot of people are waiting at $15k and maybe the whales will play around with it so many people get liquidated in the futures market and after that maybe we will see $15k or even $10k,
so don't get too excited to be optimistic in the short term this bear is over.
When you do have able to experience that 2018 onwards bear market or crypto winter then these situations or condition wont really be surprising you as you do already have the idea on whats happening on the market.
Therefore, you should really make yourself that prepared on whatever things you might encounter. Its normal for people to look and say about possible bottom which you couldnt really resist
on waiting for possible lowest price for us to place ourselves and able to accumulate.
Speaking of new ATH then it would be usually happening on after halving which it cant be determined on how far we could go but basing up on history then Bitcoin never
fails to surprise us.

The crash started before June but maybe the price drop more after it so it was still a great way to do a DCA. 3% of btc may look small but it can also be huge depending on the amount we are talking about. Their worth can also grow big by the time btc value pumps. It's okay if you have altcoin investments, many experts in fact recommend it as it's a way of diversifying one's fund.

You only want to make sure that the altcoin that you invest in are worthy to hodl for long term. With all the price that you list I think im more certain for 100k but the rest would be questionable, especially 1 million. I think that's unrealistic already even if all the supply of btc have been mined out.

I will advice you to continue to hold your bitcoin, because if you can flash back in 2009 and 2010 what was the price of Bitcoin and compare to the current price or state of bitcoin now, you will understand the benefit or the reason behind holding a bitcoin for a long duration. It's encouraging to purchase Bitcoin at lower price and hold for long time, so i believe that. Investing in altcoins is good but it's the ability to find the altcoins that the project is reproductive for investment, but be sure of the coin, and it's understandable that the profit is been determined by the time frame of Bitcoin and the increment in the market.

DCAing still remains the best way to continue accumulating your Bitcoin or cryptos, I will say you should put the largest Share of your investment capital into Bitcoin, maybe 50% since your expectation is to hodl until 10 years period of time, In this case Bitcoin will suit in this duration of time. Reason?,  it's trusted, transparency and Money secured base on its decentralized nature.

In regards to the future price of BTC, Base on history Bitcoin usually do from 2x-3x of it price after every having, if using 2x of the previous ATH $69k to predict the price , $150k per Bitcoin is realistic price it could get to.

Hi all,

I will continue to DCA into Bitcoin and hold till it reaches £200k minimum as anything less is not worth it to me.

Even reaching $200k gives us only 10x from current price and that can take years - with altcoins at least that can happen in months, that is why I am thinking of Altcoins too.

I am a only investing what I can afford to lose so will be interesting so see how Bitcoin performs compared to the altcoins I do have in the next bull run.

Understandable. If you're a "good trader", we plebs don't have the right to to discourage you because we would merely be stopping you from making profits to your maximum potential. But the fact that you're asking plebs like us for advice, I personally would give you the safest advice from my own viewpoint. HODL Bitcoin.

Plus you believe that it probably will take years for Bitcoin to surge to $200,000? OK, perhaps. But I believe, especially after QT, we would see Bitcoin surge the same way it did during 2015 - 2017.

I have to say it could go as high as possible, that depends on the time we are talking about. In 10 years, we could definitely see 200k, that doesn't seem impossible at all and it could definitely happen properly. However, 500k is a bit of a risky number, could it happen? It could. Will it happen? I am not so sure. I am sure that it will be somewhere above 200k in 10 years, and that means if we could save a lot until then, we would have a lot of money.

But, I am not sure how much higher than 200k, it could be just 220k, it could be 700k, all I know is that I trust it to be six figures when that time comes. Hopefully we will do a lot better in the long run, and could buy even more.

Bitcoin cam go as high as $100k when it gain the full momentum that will take it to that price. The market is always going up and down. Sometime it will go more down to gain good momentum to go very high to the extent of reach 100k and above. We should not under estimate the market right now because more bulls are coming.
It's not about underestimating market conditions, but everyone who has looked at the current market conditions and made an in-depth research in several ways and stages, begins to make a few conclusions for the price that Bitcoin will reach. Because price fluctuations in Bitcoin will always occur and a big increase in Bitcoin will only occur when there are more moments that can benefit several parties such as investors.

Because the influence of news alone will not be enough to make the price of Bitcoin increase in the market at this time and besides that for now there is no moment that can really affect the price of Bitcoin in the market.

The best thing one can do in my opinion is to DCA bitcoin indefinitely through bear and bull markets. Price goes up, price goes down.  It always does.  But just continue to put in/accumulate, and you'll have something of value that no one can take from you.  It is such a rewarding experience to hold an asset with the ability to transact for yourself.  The longer you hodl, the more you realize it isn't about price.

Right. Never think of what will be the future price of bitcoin as history proves that bitcoin never fail us in the long run. Hodling long term needs a lot of patience and I think that’s what we need to overcome first if we can be highly patient whenever the market turns sideways and very unstable, which means bitcoin price will definitely drop again and ends in a low price. But if you believe in bitcoin, never hesitate about it as it will always recover in every price drop and still ends with a profitable price.

How long do you want to hold your Bitcoin exactly?  Huh
If you plan to hold 5 years, you can expect Bitcoin to reach $100k. But if you plan to hold 10 years, the price possibly passes $100k.
However, thinking Bitcoin price to achieve $500k to $1m, is too much. We don't know how long Bitcoin to reach that price, even some people may doubt that Bitcoin price can be valued at around $500k or above.

That’s the goal of bitcoin to become very profitable, but I can’t tell as to how high it would reach. But if we trace back the history, bitcoin reaches significant height every year so most probably, we will really get there in time. Just be patient hodling bitcoin and never expect too much about bitcoin knowing it’s a very risky and volatile investment.
The always key on here is  that you should really not expect something because there's no assurance on what would be the future or what would happen on Bitcoin.
How high it can go? No one really knows and every speculations and guesses that we do see in the market is always just presumptions. There's no assurance that it could really hit up on certain degree.

How high it can go? Lets assume about those breaking ATH's.Bitcoin never failed on surprising us.We didnt even thought that it could reach up almost 100k.
Yet we've been just wishing that it should break that 20k ATH on previous years and now we are just hovering normally with these levels.

There's no roof because you haven't given a time frame. If we take 100 years, it can go to a million dollars and beyond. If the frame is 200 years, maybe 2 million is the target.

The main difficulty with this equation is that we don't know how valuable the USD will be in 10 or 20 years. If the inflation is 10% in 10 years you're going to need twice as many dollars to buy 1 bitcoin than you need now and that's with bitcoin staying at the same level with the same number of users. So with that in mind you can expect at least $40k in 10 years but it's gonna be higher than that with bitcoin's scarcity.

Pretty simple math, if you are willing to hold Bitcoin for the next 10 years, then go back to the 10 years and see what was the price and what is the price now. Isn't pretty simple? Something would happen like this if Bitcoin exist next 10 years. We don't know or we can't predict even what will happen with the world. So how can we assume the Bitcoin price after 10 years? You have to use your brain here because it's a financial decision. There would happen massive adaption or massive dump as well.

It all matters on your faith. If you believe that bitcoin has huge potentials to succeed more in 10 years hodling, then take the risk and go for it. But always remember, investments have no guaranteed profits, we may lose or make profits in the long run so learn to be open minded too. As long as you only invest on the amount you can afford to lose, I guess that’s fine as you never end up regretting when things don’t work in the end.
If he does it long term I think it will be fine especially for bitcoin. And what you need to know is that you have to make sales at the right time because after an increase there will be a decline that is not easy to predict.
invest for 10 years if you do DCA is the best choice and you can do it in a week or a month to buy it in small or according to your ability and also use the money you can afford to lose not money for needs, and if you understand and remember the trail bitcoin that bitcoin is for the long term.

It is not a lot but it is slowly growing...
The quote that immediately came to mind as soon as i read this line is, "Little drops of water, can make a mighty ocean". You are doing well DCA-ing and you should continue with the same comfortable amount of money you have been DCA-ing or increase it. Within a five year duration, with this strategy, you will be baffled at the bitcoins you have been able to get.

I am wondering what everyone thinks this the price of Bitcoin can realistically get to? $100k? $250k? $500k? $1m?
If we are to select, I'd say 100k should be the first milestone, when it gets to $100k, the next milestone if still possible will be $250k, and then we look to another milestone.

You really wanna know the answer? Do the latter if you want to see the results of it and have a record on how much you'll make if you've just kept it in the form of bitcoin.
But to have some realistic results, do an experiment for you to see how much you'll get with "stronger" altcoins and check how much the ROI will be.
When it's to questions like this, it seems that people don't like how stable, nice and slow bitcoin is in terms of growth. And you guys like the quick and unstable movement of altcoins.

Bitcoin has already reached 69,000$ once, so we can expect a new ATH must guarantee us bitcoin near 100,000$ at least. However, until it happens, we can't say anything else regards bitcoin price, otherwise we would be skipping an essential stage on the progression of bitcoin. It is like desiring to know what happens on the middle of a game's storyline without playing the previous levels which lead you there.

What I keep in mind is that bitcoin is pretty likely to hit more expensive price levels yet, so it is a good investment for now and for the future, although I can't say exactly how further it is going to reach yet.

Theoretically the price cannot be guessed because the supply of bitcoin is very limited so other people are always optimistic that it will be very realistic if the price of bitcoin can reach 100k or even more this takes a long time, so you can't be sure now because we don't know what will happen later, but I myself can be sure the price of bitcoin can go up even more and always break new ATH records so I am always optimistic about long-term bitcoin investments.

Well that's fine because you are planning on holding on for longer but what if that happens, will you continue to hold bitcoins anyway?
I think during this journey there will certainly be obstacles where temptation is always there.

Better sell altcoins and move assets to bitcoin, because no coin can exceed bitcoin, I will never hold altcoins for long.

It's good if you only invest what you can afford because that is the main key in investing, so you don't take risks that are too big or you can't afford them later. The performance of bitcoin will be very interesting, especially if the price increases and gets rallied to reach the last ATH. Indeed some altcoins can also get a rally, but that's not all, and if you can continue DCA to bitcoin, you can accumulate many bitcoins that will be able to provide benefits in the future.a

But specifically for altcoins, it may be a short and medium-term investment because when the bitcoin price starts to increase, the altcoin price will also follow, and that's when you will benefit from the altcoin. After that, bitcoin will follow or even bitcoin first, which will increase, and then altcoins.

Holding Bitcoin tilll this year, is a good choice that will help you to see the light in the future when the price of bitcoin reach $100k soon, which is the best season many bitcoiners are waiting to happen before they can visit the market to make something good. I will advice you to continue holding your bitcoins and release other coins to the market to earn something that will sustain you till the price of Bitcoin move to a level you know that if you sell your bitcoins it will eliminate poverty from your family . since this bear season has taken over 8 months and some weeks in the community, show that bull season will pump like 1 year or two years to reach $120k or $100k before it will return back to bear season.

the window of value which the price wiggles inbetween was

2020: $4k-$40k
2021: $10k-$75k
2022: $15k-$95k (average)
2022: $16k-$106k (oct)

this is not based on market price data. its the underlying and high cost of mining

there is no possibility of a $150k btc right now

its the simple knowledge if everyone under the sun can min for less than $10k right now there is not real reason for anyone to buy bitcoin for more then they can acquire by other means
its why in previous ATH they top out at a certain level

yes market price speculates above the current bottom underling cost because not everyone can mine at the low cost.. so prices are random speculative depending on sentiment and personal levels

but there is always a top and bottom window people cant or wont go below or above

In that case, Bitcoin is not an option for you, because you just want as much profit as possible in the shortest possible time - and it seems that you don't have too much money for a serious investment. What you may have forgotten is that you include inflation in all of this, which will reduce the purchasing power of possible earnings after x years.

In the end, it's your money and your game - just don't be too greedy, because there are few who really got rich by investing in cryptocurrencies, and many more who lost much more than they wanted.

There will be a lot of volatility but that’s the norm with bitcoin. I see absolutely nothing to suggest that in the next 20 years, $1,000,000 per BTC won’t happen. Fiat currencies are failing through a mixture of government mismanagement, war, COVID & inflation. BTC Is ready to take advantage of the current turmoil that the worldwide financial system is in.

It's funny that a few weeks back people were asking how low can we get and now they're asking exactly the opposite. Nobody knows the answer!

There are a few things that work as universal truths in bitcoin and other investments as well:
-the majority is usually wrong. If people keep telling you that it's going down, it's usually going up.
-people who give you specific price targets simply make a bet and hope they'll be the ones with the best prediction. If that happens they'll sell you their trading courses or other useless shit.
-market swings every few years. In a 10 year period you can be sure that if you invest in a company stock, bitcoin, real estate, whatever, you will make money, because as long as an asset exists it will appreciate in fiat price, simply because fiat depreciates over time. This means that even a boring company that doesn't expand will gain value. The worst thing you can do long term is own fiat.

I'm 100% sure of two things:
1. By the end of 2023 Bitcoin will be worth more than it is today.
2. It will break its ATH of 68k by 2025.

Probably only a nuclear war or some kind of global disaster could stop this from happening. You do what you like with this information Wink

There are almost what, 8 Billion people on earth? Not accounting those part of some lost tribe who do not have internet and live in some backwoods area with absolutely 0 contact to civilisation, I would say we definitely have not even seen the beginning of what price Bitcoin can reach. But Bitcoin is slowly but surely becoming adopted worldwide by everyone and at some point I truly believe it will become the one and only global money. So 1 million per Bitcoin is the smallest estimate I can give you. I don't doubt it will go beyond even that. Only time will tell though. Huh

It's good to diversify investment but choosing altcoins as alternative over bitcoin isn't good enough, you'd better prefer other investment assets than alts as alternatives but if you think the risk involved is not beyond what you can bear enough, then you can be ok with such.

I think it is better to just diversify when new funds come in.  Pulling your investment in Bitcoin (selling your holdings) at the current market condition is a bad thing.  It is better to hold a coin that is proven to bounce back than gamble in an altcoin that is only driven by pump and dump scheme.

I am wondering what everyone thinks this the price of Bitcoin can realistically get to? $100k? $250k? $500k? $1m?

It will definitely got six figures we just need a little patience, who knows maybe this bitcoin bull run, Bitcoin market will reach its new all-time high at $100k+

I am happy holding Bitcoin for the next 10 years or more if it reaches these prices above.

I'll gladly hold more than that years if am sure that my patience will be greatly rewarded.  And I think Bitcoin will deliver our wishes and hopes in due time.

Why not do both, split your funds into 50% Bitcoin and 50% altcoin?  That way, you don't have to problem with where to invest your coming funds.

It's good that you already have the mindset of a long term investor with your bitcoins. HODL has been one of the most profitable strategy over the years and I would recommend it to anybody entering the market right now. DCA is my preferred purchase method as well, I have been buying a few coins since February and will continue to do so until next year. If you don't need your money at the moment and don't want to buy more alt coins than I would keep adding to your bitcoins. Within the next 10 years I am sure we are going to see a new ATH. A bitcoin pice above 100,000 USD is very realistic in my opinion within the next 2 years and after that everything is possible. If inflation is going to stay in the double digit area than the crypto market should start rally eventually to protect our money.

You confused yourself in the above two paragraphs, you said, you'r happy of holding Bitcoin for the about ten years or more but in the second paragraph you are confused again either to invest hold (DCA) into Bitcoin or use the Bitcoin you have gotten to altcoin. OP can you tell me the strong altcoin that is stronger than Bitcoin? OP from my understanding I don't think you have Bitcoin but thread was created to find out something else.

If you like altcoin more Bitcoin then you can invest on it. Investment is a personal choice or business. The business that favoured you the most is the one you must follow. So if altcoin is okay with then you are free to invest in it. I wish you all the best

I am just debating if I should continue to DCA into Bitcoin or sell all and put into stronger altcoins which will see better ROI over the next few years.

If you ask such a question, then you are in serious trouble, you might lose everything you have if you start gambling with altcoins. I understand that you are only in this for profit, but no one can tell you how much Bitcoin will be worth at this time next year, let alone how much it will be worth in 10 years. I'm pretty sure that Bitcoin will be around in 10 years, and all those stronger coins you're thinking of will most likely be buried deep under a pile of digital junk.

Of course, this does not mean that you should not look for alternative ways to profit, but you must know when it is time to board and when to leave the ship that is about to sink.

I have only seen many people selling their altcoins and buying bitcoin but I have not seen anyone selling bitcoin to buy altcoins which is a discouraged action. I agree with you that investing in altcoins has a much better chance of getting a return than bitcoin but the bottom line here is which altcoin will give you such a return. Finding altcoins that can x100 in the next few years is like finding a needle in a haystack, very difficult and not to mention the risk that you could lose your entire fortune instead of profit.

DCA-ing into certain altcoins isn't really all that bad. The question is — can you actually pick the ones that will outperform bitcoin? Or will you be like the 95% that would end up picking dying coins/tokens?

My advice is that keep your Bitcoin Holdings and do DCA all the time,Bitcoin is facing the bear market doesn't mean that any alt coin has value over it. Alt coin are shit coin, they end up depreciating and forgotten, I guess you take alt coin to be valuable.

Bitcoin Holdings needs patience like every other cryptocurrency. A time is coming when all Bitcoiners would not want to sell anymore, that is the time bitcoin price will hit the highest price, maybe 1mill. Just the way we can't predict when something good is coming to us,is the same way that we can not predict the next bull market and how much will be the highest price accurately.

I currently have 3% of a Bitcoin having started dollar cost averaging in June after the crash.

It is not a lot but it is slowly growing and I have many other Altcoins I am invested in so can't put everything into Bitcoin.

Once I also made such a mistake, I chose altcoins from which I expected that they would grow in price and then I will sell them and buy bitcoins. But this was a huge mistake, because my altcoins only fell in price, and did not want to sell them because I was waiting for them to rise again so that I could at least return the money invested. As a result, this led to the fact that I lost almost everything I had and was left without bitcoin. Altcoins are some kind of illusion that only leads us astray, if you want, allocate a few thousand dollars for altcoins, and just look what this investment will lead to. Let this be an experiment for you, but main part of the investment portfolio should consist of bitcoin.

If the altcoin you hold has good potential in the future like ethereum, stick with it and wait until you see better ROI in the future.
Bitcoin ATH is currently still at $64k and of course it will continue. the price of $100k for bitcoin is still realistic and will probably be reached when the 4th halving occurs or maybe sooner. All have the same expectations on bitcoin. Doing DCA doesn't hurt, it's a good strategy that needs to be done as long as you still have money in reserve.

Holding bicoin is the best option you have done so far then talking of Bitcoin price to get so higher is not what could be predicted so easily, looking from the ATH of $68k which dip down to 17k was something you unimaginably and could likely gets to 100k and dip down to $25k as the case may be, from the analysis and its movement.
Investment in altcoin can be considered valuable but asking me deeply I would prefer bitcoin instead than altcoin.

Just stick with bitcoins when you have that investment plan, you probably end up increasing your money with assurance since bitcoins price will be expected every after bitcoin halving which is approximately 3 years from now based on the history BTC price chart when the last bull runs happens.

But if you also consider altcoins, better not to expect that much from the altcoins that already had their ATH especially the top Altcoins in the crypto market because they might not probably gain that much again.

Now, i am wondering if there is really any altcoin out there that is stronger than bitcoin, i might want to know about them and the reason why you think they are stronger than bitcoin...

Anyways, the price of bitcoin, just like any other cryptocurrency out there is not predictable, i mean they are highly unpredictable coupled with some factors that may likely affect the price positively or negatively in the future, like
1. Regulations
2. Acceptance of bitcoin by different governments of the world
This and many more factors i believe will play important roles in determining how far bitcoin can go in price, and right now, some of this factors are unclear to us all.

I am wondering what everyone thinks this the price of Bitcoin can realistically get to? $100k? $250k? $500k? $1m?

I am happy holding Bitcoin for the next 10 years or more if it reaches these prices above.

There is nothing better than to continue to DCA into Bitcoin as long as you can do it. Yeah, some Alts might be also profitable but Bitcoin is a better guarantee of your investment if you are planning to hodling for a long time.
And considering whether the price of Bitcoin might get to $100k or more, I believe it is just a matter of time before we would see that price per BTCitcoin reached, history has thought us that much.

Bitcoin price will obviously hit new all time high and will return you a high roi and for this you just need to have patience. You can continue doing DCA(Dollar Cost Avarege) or can invest on some top altcoins from the CMC.

Don't mind the percentage, the important thing is you'll be a consistent holder and adds more to it doing DCA.

Many of us are aiming for the high price of bitcoin in the next few years and that's why we're just holding it until those day comes. But at first, we're thinking of seeing the $100k mark first.

And then next are those high prices more than the $100k price that we've aimed at the start.

Altcoins are at the peak from a relative high against bitcoin now and I'd suggest pulling investments in them until btc dominance shoots back up (there are charts that measure btc dominance that you can search for to see when would be a good time to invest and when wouldn't - when bitcoin dominance is high, alts are a good investment, when it's low, they have a greater chance of falling relative to bitcoin).

The gains of altcoins recently have only been made from chains pretending they have significant news and pushing through changes that have generally attempted to make them all like each other.

DCA into bitcoin if you want to own quite a bit but also dca into traditional investment options if you want more protection (like shares). Bitcoin going over $100k is probably going to happen.within the next 10 years, $50k seems almost certain but we're near the point of when things are hard to predict because of how big the market cap of bitcoin.actually is (assuming most coins are movable still and aren't lost).

OP, I have been saying this over and over in the forum. SIX digits at the VERY LEAST during the next bull cycle, and some people would believe that's not very optimistic. Hahaha.

Although, I was proven wrong by the market when I thought Bitcoin would be at six digits during the last bull cycle, I'm very confident there are more bull cycles coming that would take Bitcoin there. When in doubt, zoom out.

When you are looking for long term ROI you do not invest in Altcoins, i would tell you not to invest in them at all, but it is your call and your funds to spend, but if you'll listen to me then don't invest in Altcoins, over the next few years more than 50% of the "attractive" Altcoins in the market now would be no more, some would have made a classic rug pull scam on investors, dumped totally or are no longer tradable; but many more will keep coming out with the same hype and promises, if you don't like to gamble you can see there's no need going for Altcoins.

If you have started to use DCA into BTC, there is no need to change, there is also no need to diversify, if you wanna do that go buy something else that isn't connected to the crypto network in anyway, you don't buy BTC and Solana and think you've diversified, no you have not.

It is certain that Bitcoin price would definitely get higher than our expectations and calculations but I strongly believe it would gradually do so. While I said so is because as time goes on the world would definitely get to know about Bitcoin whereby  more than %50 of world population holds a little fraction of it added to the demand and pressure on Bitcoin. When that happens, there would be much higher demand for Bitcoin but as it stands now, what Bitcoin needs more is creating awareness about it globally because the world is yet to get familiar with it. This little awareness done will go along way in getting more people onboard the system. This will also create more liquidity and also improve the market there by making higher trading volume. Also, as we may know, Bitcoin has strong value that is why it was tagged digital gold as a result of it's emergence as the first digital currency in the world. So your speculated price is not a barrier in any ways. It is achievable as we collectively do our job as pro Bitcoin enthusiast.

It is not a lot but it is slowly growing and I have many other Altcoins I am invested in so can't put everything into Bitcoin.

It's good to diversify investment but choosing altcoins as alternative over bitcoin isn't good enough, you'd better prefer other investment assets than alts as alternatives but if you think the risk involved is not beyond what you can bear enough, then you can be ok with such.

I am wondering what everyone thinks this the price of Bitcoin can realistically get to? $100k? $250k? $500k? $1m?

If you need the accurate answer to this then it's something you can derive on all by yourself, just got deep into the history of bitcoin since 2009 and check the major events that has happened, compare the all time high to the all time low and hiw this has been a continuous process within every four years interval and see how bitcoin has been volatile and ever increasing in value, such could help you predict by yourself what the future may tells andbhiwbfar it could go higher.

I am happy holding Bitcoin for the next 10 years or more if it reaches these prices above.

If you really meant business then in this you have to really practice the holding indeed and if will definitely pays than you've expected from it.

I am just debating if I should continue to DCA into Bitcoin or sell all and put into stronger altcoins which will see better ROI over the next few years.

Why are you compromising things here, you've made ut right already by investing with bitcoin, adopt the right technique with DCA, now you're introducing a spoil into it, bitcoin is the only digital currency recognized as an asset and recommended for for an investment while others were at your risk.
