Currently there is about 50000 Bitcoin users in India with about 30000 of them active.

Adoption is growing at a rapid rate.

Here is an excellent youtube video discussing the adoption of Bitcoin in India:

https://youtu.be/WBSBxkULP4Y
I dont think 30k user even affect country population digital growth rate.our country population is above 1.2 billion so no matter how much the growth rate is it will still take time more than 4-5 years in india ,so that people can understand what bitcoin is.

Bitcoin rates are very much volatile, so many merchants will hesitate to accept bitcoin as payment. But i love to see shops accepting bitcoins, this will happen only when thee government regulates bitcoin and governing bodies monitor bitcoin payments. We need some reliable payment gateways specifically for India from some reputable online gateways, Indians will not believe as easily when a new company building a bitcoin gateway. Moreover our media has projected bitcoin is medium of payment for illegal activities.

I have tried to speak with some of my friends about bitcoin their first reaction was, "what happened why are you doing illegal business". Basically this is the reaction from many people around, so first this image of bitcoin has to be changed.
Ya you are right
I visited many states in india but i havent seen even a single branded shop accepting bitcoin payment.though Bangalore being tech city but i haven't seen even there any bitcoin shop.it will take some year in india to fully matched bitcoin marketing.

Sure it will. There is a website called HighKart which allows you to buy via bitcoin. Again, Amazon, being a top e-commercial website will soon add bitcoin as an option for payment. Bitcoin is really popular and simply needs to be acknowledged worldwide. Many Indians, being tech savvy are already aware of Bitcoin. In a period of 3-4 years, I believe Bitcoin will be officially accepted.
Are you sure that Amazon is gonna add bitcoin as a payment option soon?
Well That would be great If amazon starts accepting bitcoin as a payment method.  Smiley
They will not going to add it that for sure. As they will never take direct bitcoin payment,as they already have voucher system.
They might create interchangeable service but still voucher will lead.

Amazon will never accept direct bitcoin payment due to its unstable price.they might create an alternate service to interconvert bitcoin to voucher.

In  india, if we  compare our literacy rate with our current economic rate then there is very less chance that this payment mod will be there in local store in future.but global shopping service such as amazon might take it which will benefit us also as if we are more online buyers.

India is one of the biggest democratic country in world. Also have great financial growth. And also going to global and digital. So there are more possibilities of using bitcoins in INDIA. As already Zebpay and coinsecure are used for merchant gateway to accept bitcoins locally.

P.S: Amazon were not at all angry on being asked about an unstable currency BTC but Flipkart rejected me. Amazon is really deserving to be #1. However, you need to find a good escrow or send them your BTC first to get your deal done' Sign a message to be cautious

Bitcoin doesn't hav its Payment Processor. So despite its popularity I dont believe it will be accepted. However,t here is another promising coin which has already built its own Payment Processor. The name is ADZcoin. It has a huge infrastructure to back the coin, including a socila network with around 1lac members already, a Payment processor, online wallet, an browser extension, a coupon code site, an Internet Marketin Forum among others. I hav tried to explain the concept in brief at http://freedomwithmohit.com/can-you-achieve-financial-freedom-if-you-get-free-lifelong-targeted-traffic/

Will Bitcoin be ever accepted as a currency in India (I mean like in stores and all that) ?

It will take time. I think Bitcoin will have to succeed as an online currency, before stores start thinking of accepting Bitcoin.
If your question pertains to something like the image below, it will take a long time.

We have a product to promote this kind of bitcoin acceptance - refer to http://unoco.in/pos

It's possible but only if it manages to be the invisible, enabling technology rail. Too much visibility early on will be a net negative for mainstream adoption in India.
Early on ? I think a lot of people already have had an introduction to bitcoin, but unfortunately its a negative view of it eg. being used by hackers or ransonwares. It can get accepted in the stores, but I doubt it as alternate payments systems would probably appeal more to people .
I dont agree that indians have negative view about bitcoin.Mostly it is ignorance and partly the risk factor that prevents them from using bitcoin.Indians usually prefer to go for tried and tested investment options.Bitcoin volatility makes it less impressive to many indians
Most of the people I have spoken to about bitcoin might not have a negative view, but have heard only negative things about it. Most of us also believe in anything that we hear on the news and let it affect our views about it.

Zebpay is an online app but there is no other option except Zebpay which can help us to use bitcoins offline. Most bitcoin debit cards have too much fee and it becomes too expensive to spend bitcoins. Like steam, microsoft and other big websites having bitcoin payment options, I hope flipkart/snapdeal too start accepting bitcoins. Atleast paytm/mobikwik can have such an upload option available.

Not sure if they will. Firstly depend upon the clarity of what future holds in for crypto currency in our country. Many would be uncertain about its future due to which they would restrict themselves to the normal currency.

Cryptocurruncy has great future but it will not make fiat completely obsolete in near future.Maybe in 2-3 decades but not now
