I remember the first time crypto ever reached 1 trillion dollars, and that was the whole market reaching 1 trillion dollars, when it first happened in 2017 it was a much much bigger news and it wasn't seen as something this "expected" like today.

I guess we have increased fairly "slowly" compared to those days, in those days price was 3k in November and 20k in December, in a month it went 7x, we haven't had that kind of increase in a month ever again, while we did moved from 7k at the start of 2020 to 50k+ today, it still wasn't really that "quick" so people are not really reacting to reaching trillion dollars. If we could do just another 10x that means we are going to actually reach to gold market cap all around the world, and that is going to be the day bitcoin becomes the new asset everyone looks to when trying to save money, instead of buying gold everyone around the world will be buying bitcoin with all the money they save and reach to a point that has no return ever again.

Wow, we reached that 1 trillion mark already,

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/ Prices are increasing continuously right now hope this psychalogial barrier break may fuel the rally more.

I look forward to the day this becomes a long term 'support' level....

this is a real impressive growth, and we have seen these "price explosions" several times during the past weeks.
I think that most of people have lost the "crypto" opportunity. price very high and a limit for access will grant most of advantages only for bif corporations. We have lost initial vision of Satoshi? It's just a speculation matter now?

The mass adoption already started and its good to see Bitcoin to hit the Trillion mark and hopefully, no more big corrections which I think is still possible to happen. Anyway, Bitcoin are working good with the altcoins and the whole cryptomarket are celebrating, many will hit their new all time high and hopefully you’re ready for more.

Just need 22 million to hit the trillion marketcap milestones which mean 1200 spike on BTC price will help it to reach such stage. In the crypto community, the marketcap metric was not an actual representation of anything but certainly, it has role in the financial community so the adoption is coming meanwhile people are crying for the missed opportunities.

It's quite a milestone....

Actually it's just another milestone between the many to come.
We, humans, are so fond of nice-looking round numbers. Bitcoin doesn't care.

Plus how many of you have friends, and family who have a sudden interest in Bitcoin? I have told them, almost forcing them, to buy Bitcoin under $10,000. No interest.

A friend of mine was pretty much interested of Bitcoin in 2017. I wanted to help him buy, but he was not 100% convinced and he was ever deciding.
In 2018 he was very relieved he didn't buy. Of course, he didn't buy since and now he's lamenting about the missed opportunity.

On the other hand, didn't we also miss these opportunities? I mean, shouldn't we also have bought more at 6000$ or less?!

OP, IT WILL!

Bitcoin priced $50,000, “Why didn’t you tell me to buy when it was $30,000”?

Rare but still very tiny.
I've been seeing people scare themselves with numbers like this because they keep comparing bitcoin with arbitrary companies (their stock and market cap) but that makes no sense at all because bitcoin is not a stock or a company. It is a global currency build for every single human being all over the earth not just in one country or for minority of that country!

With that said you have to compare this world wide currency with all the money in the world. And if we don't just stick to "physical" accounted for cash the number is in quadrillions of dollars. Bitcoin barely reaching 1 trillion means it is just reaching 1/1000 of the total money capacity in the world and has to go up a lot more to reach the same "market cap" as the "money market cap" (although MC is not really defined for money!).

The trillion market cap is around $53700 if I recall, we came about $1000 short of hitting that. I am wondering if there are going to be people who are going to sell before the trillion marketcap hit thinking it might be the top.

Right now since $50K broke, there are no resistant areas really. Maybe the local top at $52600 however what areas of resistance are there really before $100K? Maybe $75K will be some resistance. However I just don't see it stopping in any of these arbitrary numbers.

Most people are waiting for $100K and most will take profits there. So maybe the top will be like $98 or $99K. Imagine wanting to sell at $100K, it tops at $99K and you need to wait another 4 years to get your target price.

What we're currently witnessing is just the start of big firms tapping in their near-unlimited cash reserves to buy into bitcoin, and there's only a few of them aboard the train right now. It's just the start of bitcoin getting to the trillions-level market cap, and it's not far from over considering that a lot of companies are still looking to convert their idle cash funds into bitcoin. That seems to be the big trend right now especially on small and medium-sized companies with spare cash to burn, and it's not far/impossible that other such companies follow the trend.

The real question is what's in it for the most of us really aside from the profit opportunities? Most companies are hodling like the rest of us, and not very much are keen into getting bitcoin that mainstream adoption for utility and payments.

It’s only the beginning really, the marketcap will continue to grow, bitcoin will be the most valuable asset in the world within 10 years. What you are witnessing is the changing of the guard. Bitcoin is gaining mainstream adoption slowly but surely. We are still early, I’m excited too see how the future unfolds.
We are all excited for that thing to happen and its true that bitcoin would really have that potential and never fails to impress to those who are mainly supporting it not just mainly on earning opportunity
but rather do focuses out more on its real usage and relevance. When we do talk about that there there are indeed people would be having those impressions or treatment.
We are close in a trillion and we wont really be surprised if it would go even more bigger in upcoming years to come. Adoption is indeed increasing day by day.

Looks like Bitcoin is about to 'Trillionize' - a rare event indeed.

There will be those who bought before trillionization and those who bought after trillionization.....  Wink

It's quite a milestone....
