We can still survive without China

Bitcoin is far better without those scared little rats running for the exit every time another news story breaks.  Like cockroaches when you turn on the lights in the kitchen.  They scurry away so fast.
I'm not entirely sure if this is the case though. I think China is just being super smart and is somewhat stimulating the market to crash by spreading false FUD and probably buying up loads behind everyone's backs. Like it or not bitcoin is for everyone, disregarding race, country or social class. You and OP act like bitcoin is only for us westerners and China and chinese people should have nothing to do with it, that's a wrong mindset. Also, you can't ignore the fact that a big portion of the total hash power is still coming from China.

In my opinion that china will come back in the Bitcintalk.org. More people more investor. When people invest more and more in BTC than BTC rate will be more valuable.

but I think china is a country that has many investors who can support in ICO a project in bitcoin.

I agree, I think btc in general has a lot to lose with this,my fear is other countries have decided to follow this example...

I don't think the real investors will just shut up n quit. They have Hong Kong for all these things, and don't think that U.S. investors stopped investing because of the regulations. They started using better VPN.

it is time we proclaim to the whole world that Bitcoin can be better without the influence of China. We don't need China to make Bitcoin survive. By next year, all of these things can be history and maybe we should learned the hard lessons that China is just a big headache.

It is time for Bitcoin and the whole of cryptocurrency to move on without China. We can still survive without it and in fact there are many BIG companies right now who do not also have any presence in China. We should not be afraid that Bitcoin can die without China...in fact the opposite can be true.

it looks like bitcoin is better without chinese. china destroys the order that has been built.

bitcoin will continue to run without a country that does not support it. as chinese do.
bitcoin will survive despite the storm.

I understand your feeling !
I don't want China to hold and control the Bitcoin, When we try to promote markets more developed today, the next day when China wakes up, they make the market go down badly.
It is time for Bitcoin and the whole of cryptocurrency to move on without China, can't even for China to decide the fate of Bitcoin

China will be back no matter what. Their culture says otherwise.
What I meant by this is that, even if they say today that they will ban the bitcoin forever.
Tomorrow, expect a 360 degree change as something already happened thru negotiations.

We still need china even they ban bitcoin exchanges, they dont ban totally bitcoin, they have almost half of the hashpower of the network, this is just another drama with jp morgan nothing to fear. Just buy the dip and sell when it peaks, some are gaining profits in short term trading, very volatility means profit/loss.

I'm all for Bitcoin being in more hands but it's rather annoying that China has to try to regulate or even worse, ban, crypto every time things start going well.

Hopefully they will figure out the benefits of Bitcoin and will start to accept it!

What do these exchange closures do to the future of mining in china, and also NYA 2x agreement?

I don't understand the difference between China's OTC trading and exchange trading. Is it much harder now for miners to sell their bitcoins there? Can the general public trade whatever this OTC is? If it is harder, fewer Chinese would try to mine and join pools?

Can anyone Eli5 significance of exchange closures regarding mining and NYA 2x

The world community can really do without China in the field of crypto currency. Even if the crypto currency in China is banned, it can not greatly affect the currency. Just volume of the market will decrease slightly. However, China is not going to prohibit the country's crypto currency, after taking a number of measures to improve the level of security and protect the rights of investors, the circulation of crypto currency will be resumed there. But China gives us trouble and worries regularly. It's true.

China has a market of 1.4 billion people. That is something I do not want to miss in the bitcoin world.
But I would not mind if the big exchanges as well as the miners are distributed more equally over the world.
Too much concentration in one country is never good. Especially when the principle of the currency decentralization is.

I agree with you. although China has a major contribution to the bitcoin itself.
I see bitcoin get through the phase of a very dark rumor. the slope that occurred late these days, as evidenced by the rising bitcoin today.

If something tend to create more problem than what we envisaged we tend to just go ahead without but that's not the case here in that even though the news from there has not been encouraging in recent times, it does not mean they should be disregarded because if the Chinese is cut off totally, then more bad news is about to fall in which might be too difficult to return to the glorious  days but they should be managed.

I'm not sure if bitcoin is better without China but it's good to see the price recovering. The bad news is already upon us now so hopefully the worst is over now.

China will be back after they made an intensive regulation in their ICO and exchanges. What will be the significance of their bitcoin mining if they will not come back. This China event that bitcoin community experienced, is only the beginning of more similar occasion that will happen again in another country.

I'm more concerned that other countries might follow suit just because. But yeah, China bans everything anyway. Bitcoin value should be at least a tiny bit more stable with them out of the picture.

Getting rid of China is like getting rid of that big shit I did this morning.  I feel much better now.  I am glad the little fuckers banned themselves.
