Well don't put up your hopes too high dude. Most people, including me, thought that we've bottomed out at 5.8k this year yet a sudden drop placed us under 4k real quick. Hopefully december at least can give us something to be merry about but don't count on it too much.

it looks like bitcoin won't jump to 10k like you said, FUD has passed, I don't know what will happen next month. but if I see current growth, I have confidence that the first bullrun will come soon

Anyone who doesnt have a long term objective or vision for BTC is going to be backing off continually but I'd also argue its upto the crypto sector to give a purpose and utility to this blockchain. Nobody does favours in capitalism, its a market which people will only give so much time and leeway to before writing it off. Its upto developers or companies, whoever is in the space to utilise that time and popularity to grow something real that is no longer subject to speculation but genuine growth and utility.

I believe its possible but I dont know for sure it'll go the way that anyone expects. I generally think many are being far too bearish for a brand new technology sector but theres no guarantee for anyone they will have the idea that benefits from future business

Those who are expecting skyrocket are the cryptonians that enters the crypto community for the sole objective,and that is to make profit and nothing more,theyre the one whos adding more difficulty in rhe value because whenever the price drops they become panicking and sell their coins instead of holding this thats why the market keeps on falling.

But holders are different from this.becaus no matter what happen to prices we will keep on trusting the cryptocurrency

Nothing is impossible to bitcoin and it did actually happened all the time that the price can unexpectedly pump even in just a matter of short time but whatever will be the end price of bitcoin this year , i will still be happy and i will still accept it .

you know guys this is not end but rather this is only just a start for a new season because we can see that the price is now ready to attract alot of potential investors .

Not so long time ago many expected for Bitcoin to go up to 10000$ or higher. Even now some think it's not to late, that there is enough time by the end of the year.
I don't share such opinion and there are no signs that could would show such fast Bitcoin price recovery in such short period of time, although everything is possible when Bitcoin is involved.
Still having in mind current situation 3000$ is much more likely but I hope this will not happen.

Possibly, bitcoin could get below $3000 or worst since that price will surely make a massive selling while the whales are enjoying the view getting those bitcoin at a lower price, full their bags and make thousands of dollars after they create a massive buy. i think the situation with ethereum is a little different though.
there are a couple of problems and fears that is pushing miners away. first of all is the obvious price dump which has been severe and with the price close to $100 it makes making profit very hard.
but also there is ASICs for ETH which is going to kill GPU mining pretty soon so some miners are leaving already. and on top of that there is the threat of algo change which is going to kill mining entirely.

In case our prices are closer to $ 3000, this is indeed something that is not expected by everyone but this is what happened. And the current market situation is very uncertain, to be honest I feel very pessimistic about the current market situation.

Why is it either, Bitcoin is famous for its volatility so my scenario most feasible would be the whipsaw effect of 3k and then flip to 10k to throw out the shorts. Where it goes from there is the longer term bullish or bearish argument but I believe even many negative commentators on Bitcoin believe it can still be at 10k and not in the end achieve a positive result in their opinion.

The price is relative to lots of things like costs and ebbs in supply and demand, the holidays of various countries having an effect and all sorts. Its hard to say this move was more then disruption, I dont immediately think it determines longer term direction as we were already not in an uptrend. So it fights on, 10k possible imo

I believe that also, but i'm not fully convinced that we've reached a bottom yet. I don't think we'll see any meaningful recovery until at least 2019 (talking $6000+). There should be the strongest support yet around 2800, after that the next level is around 1600 but I don't think we'll break 2800. It also helps that the mining cost is around $3000.

Well, it looks like it dropped closer to 3 thousand instead of going back to 10 thousand. Which means this was half right but also lets remember it said "either" going to 3 thousand dollars or 10 thousand dollars and we are still a month away from 2018 ending so even though it looks like it would be impossible for bitcoin to reach 10 thousand lately, I still see it going to 10 thousand as a possibility.

Now, I know what you are thinking the price looks closer to 2 thousand instead of 10 thousand but it is still doing a lot of moves so it might go up one day. If the price skyrockets to something decent like 6 thousand or so thanks to whales, the small investors will make it go closer to 10 thousand right away thinking the bull is here. So it can do "both" and not "either" in that case.

The fork just happened at the wrong time of the year and people who had planned that they could make some money and have the vacations went for the toss as market has fallen from 5k to below 4k and this is not a good sign. But yes those who have money should be buying at this rates and with some upward movement one can still make money before the year end and enjoy the 2018.

Now we are presented with a downward trend and fud which is developed in a structured manner so that panic can continue to suppress the price of bitcoin. this will happen next month, I'm sure.
it is very difficult to predict that bullrun will occur especially in December, I still study it and analyze it and there is no growth indicator to move high. but anything can happen because bitcoin is magical

yeah, instead of rising from the dip it still stock at the dip and digging more deeper. this year is the year of trials for us investors, filtering investors who still holding tight and believing in bitcoin. i think by the end of the year (2018) bitcoin touch to $3000 below, and no one else can tell what will happen next.

I believe that it won't go down below 4k nor go higher to 10k, range would be 6000-7500. There are few more days to come before year ends and I don't think it's that easy to reach 10k by that short span of time. End the year is fast-approaching, but I'm hopeful that there's a slow recovery of the price, where investors and traders won't be left behind. Let's stay patient that by the end of the year a positive surprise is set to take place for all Bitcoiners.

From April 2018 I am waiting for BTC to cross 10000$, but for very short time it was around 10K$ then it started its downward movement. Now I think BTC is going to touch 2000$ soon. This surprise will be wonderful for all crypto traders as it has already made the mind of people. Hoping to see 2K$ in November 2018.

I think it will not fall down to $3000, hopefully not because I don't see that it will fall down even more this year. Yes, a lot of us are expecting bitcoin to rise up by end of year but I don't also think it will take again like last year, maybe it was just around the average of $5000-$6000. In my opinion, $10k this year is also impossible for bitcoin to reach again.

Not impossible since this market can make a 360 degree turn in a matter of hours. And i think we stil have enough time for a rally to 10k. Though at the moment a lot of us are still surprised about the decline with the bch hardfork the only notable news in the market and i don't think it should affect btc that much.

Eucalypt, like the last year, in December, the prices just jumped from some seven thousands to twenty thousand within time span of one week. They were like jumping in hours distance.

I really would not expect the same thing that happened last year to happen the same way this year, but at the same time it is the cryptocurrency market and it is bitcoin, so in a way, we might still get to see anything surprising coming into reality.
Nonetheless, at this stage the market is oversold, but there is no doubt we can stay in the oversold region for a while, and with the way things are going now, $3k looks more glaring as a bottom but I guess we might just have to wait and see.

Probably you do not know what you are thinking at this point. The market looks more closer to $3k right now, and there is no major support where we are right now than the support at $3k, so unless you are really just too optimistic or you are being hopeful you will get to see something like last year ending happening, there is really nothing much to expect to the upper side.

Probably, after the $3k, we might see a bounce, but that is something I possibly will leave with time. Bitcoin can be surprising though, but in this case, I really would not bother about the future, but bother more on how to keep accumulating more now.

Well, it appears the market is still bearish and the bitcoin is heading to $3000 not $10,000. It may likely go down below $3k the way market is going. I think the bitcoin price will reach $10,000 in the mid 2019 when the market is fully recovered.

That was the price I expected from September. I thought this was a bad year for bitcoin so I sold the bitcoin in August. Although I had a $ 433 loss but if held up to now, It seems I will lose more than $ 2000. I will wait until the BTC reaches $ 3,000 and I will buy it again.

I think it will not fall down to $3000, hopefully not because I don't see that it will fall down even more this year. Not impossible since this market can make a 360 degree turn in a matter of hours. And i think we stil have enough time for a rally to 10k. Though at the moment a lot of us are still surprised about the decline with the bch hardfork the only notable news in the market and i don't think it should affect btc that much.

Eucalypt, like the last year, in December, the prices just jumped from some seven thousands to twenty thousand within time span of one week. They were like jumping in hours distance.

I still think both are quite possible considering people who have sold their bitcoins (the hash war dudes on bitcoin cash deal) will stop selling their bitcoins and as soon as the war is over people will see that bitcoin price is going up and when it goes up they will want to get it cheap in order to profit from the rise of the price which may affect the price a bit higher, instead of going back to 6 and a half thousand dollars it may go up to 10 thousand dollars, that's still a possibility.

However I think if this war continues and the volume stays low because of the war and people not wanting to get in during these times the price could go even lower to buy the fuel that allows this war to continue. Which one will happen first all depends on how long this war will go on.

Either of the two seems possible at the moment. Bitcoin falls down to below $5k and then it seems like the bears are not yet done. There is still a possibility that it would continue to go down or maybe, those who has the funds are just waiting for the time when the market seems like recovering again. The price now is cheap but there is a possibility that it would be more cheaper in the coming days or would be expensive so it would depend on your plan then as to how you would approach the market now so that you can take advantage of it.

Well there's one month before year ends lets wait and see what will be the price of bitcoin because no one can predict the exact price of bitcoin in the next few weeks,hopefully bitcoin will move up so we can make a great profit before year ends. I doubt that $3k is the last price of bitcoin before the end of this year. I think it will just keep the range just like that when it was on $6500 before.
I'm not sure about the bull run this year and neither dip will ever occur, so i guess we would be staying at this price range until next year.

we had a clear bottom for many months in the $5800s. that level has now been broken and we are holding below it. that implies a lot of selling pressure from all the buyers > $5800 who may want to cut losses.

the fact that bulls didn't immediately buy the price back up is alarming.

I think it depends on how long this war goes on. If it goes on for a long time than there won't be any chance for us to hit $10k because people like Craig will keep on selling his coins in order to feed his army to keep this war going and no matter how much we buy he will always have a strong purse that he will use in this war. So, in short if this war ends soon than we have a chance of seeing $10k, if the war continues we will see $3k.

It is not a shock anymore that bitcoin can see $3k, I wouldn't have believed that just a week ago but now I believe something like that could happen and I wouldn't be shocked. That is what bitcoin is, it can be $3k and it can be $10k and no one would be shocked by any of those results, it is insane to think x3 difference is just regular day for bitcoin

I expect the price to be in the region of 5000-7000, I don't think there will be any further drastic movements in any one direction or the other. I think this latest drop might signal another few bad months ahead but support was still found pretty quickly after the previous levels were smashed through.

These are make or break figures for bitcoin, I doubt it will go that low but if it does then the road to recovery is going to be a really long one. People will see it as a failed experiment and it will take a lot of persuasion to get them back in again

I saw a thread like this one one week ago. Someone asked Bitcoin will go 5K or 10K? I answered him that is not possible to know it. And Bitcoin price has fallen. Now I don't know what should I say.

$10k is too much. i don't think $3k is too little. crashes happen quickly. if the $6k support is truly broken, there's a lot of capitulation lying in wait once price starts grinding down.

someone around here posted a wyckoff chart indicating this dump is part of a selling climax in a larger bullish reversal. can't find it now, but it was a compelling chart.....

I don't believe bitcoins prices will close at any of those prices you have given, these numbers are what people like to comfort themselves with. If you have brought bitcoins then you would love to see it at 10k, if you plan to buy or have sold it you wish to see it at 3k, the problem is they ignore ground reality. It's pertinent to note prior to the crash bitcoins were very much stable, and once this event effects starts to fade we'll see it back to 6k levels, unless some major postive or negative news sways the prices.

Will start withdrawing some of my life savings if ever bitcoin goes on $3,000. I'm not doubting that it may happen but the year won't end that bad and potentially that we will never see $3,000 again.

As a holder, we just buy at the dip and if price skyrockets then that will be cashing out time for us. Rinse and repeat that's all. We don't usually take those negative news and other stuffs that will just interrupt our focus as long term holder.

This had prove again that bitcoin doesnt really follow any speculation from experts or any other professional inputs. We might see different
situation on last year but doesnt mean it would repeat again on next one. Unpredictable market indeed and i didnt even expect we would able to hit up
sub 6k price which we know the support is on that range. We might see the next support of 4400 if it breaks then expect for 2k.

I think it will not fall down to $3000, hopefully not because I don't see that it will fall down even more this year. Yes, a lot of us are expecting bitcoin to rise up by end of year but I don't also think it will take again like last year, maybe it was just around the average of $5000-$6000. In my opinion, $10k this year is also impossible for bitcoin to reach again.

Not impossible since this market can make a 360 degree turn in a matter of hours. And i think we stil have enough time for a rally to 10k. Though at the moment a lot of us are still surprised about the decline with the bch hardfork the only notable news in the market and i don't think it should affect btc that much.

no, there is no such thing as either rise to the moon or drop dead when it comes to bitcoin. there is a lot of things in between the two extreme scenarios too. and right now there is a certain trend going on which nobody can change and that trend is an accumulation trend which demands stable price.

now that doesn't mean nothing else can happen. for example the recent drop was a simple manipulation of the price with a lot of FUD and panic because of an altcoin fork!!! but that doesn't mean the trend has suddenly changed for no reason.

Ten grand is too much. Three grand is too little. I think it is conceivable for next year, three grand that is, but there's still a little bit of hope that needs to be beaten out of people and it doesn't happen that rapidly.

All throughout this year people have taken every sign of life as the grand reversal. That tells us we're not anywhere near the end of it all yet.

My take is that I will buy a lot if it falls to 3k.

I will not let it escape this time. I will be buying hard.

Now if it go to 10k, no problem for me, since I'm a holder.

Bitcoin likely isn't going to hit anywhere near 10k this year. That's just a magic number people like. Without some huge news driving demand bitcoin will likely stagnate or maybe even continue to fall during Nov/Dec.

There's nothing really stopping any other currency from taking over bitcoin, but bitcoin still has the name and media behind it but that may not always be the case.

None of the PoW cryptocurrencies out there offer any solutions to the classic scaling problems of Bitcoin. And none of the PoW alternatives are safe enough to go and dump your bitcoins over it. Those alts that haven't had the problems Bitcoin has faced it's simply due them being irrelevant and not hosting any value worth attacking.

Scaling or not Bitcoin remains a better gold, and that use case alone is worth trillions of dollars. So how in the f*ck isn't Bitcoin insanely undervalued at $20k or $3k again?

I had stopped dreaming that Bitcoin price going to skyrocket,the price now has been falling so bad, and we are not sure what is happening and the market also very unstable,making all the situation very confusing, I think there will be another crash, people already losing trust with Bitcoin,Bitcoin need fresh fund to boost the performance, I don't think it could reach 3k but it certainly won't reach 7k

Not everybody, some speculators actually predicted such a scenario we see now with the bottom between 3000$ and 5000$, but same also predict 50 000 by the end of this year (BitMEX Co-founder Arthur Hayes). BTC is one of the most risky investment these days, and no one should not be surprised at all with what's happening in the past few days. We seen before that price can jump 1000$ in a day easy, it can also go in the opposite direction.

I am always optimistic when it comes to BTC, but short term situation is not look good - chances for even lower price are certainly quite possible. Based on last years it is well known that beginning of each year is not the best time for BTC, so it is not realistic to expect recovery in the following months.
