The transfer is considered "finished" after ~6 confirmations. After that the transfer is permanently in the blockchain and no-one can change or remove it.

Some weeks ago made small 0.005 BTC payment with 0.0002 BTC fee. Right now there are 2986 confirmations and 19 days history behind, not finished yet. So this is end of Bitcoin.
