Why should it even be a separate lesting I do not get. Its just a form of BTC to allow transaction.

I do see different services coming up, totally seperate from the bitcoin core but nothing to do with the core devs and advancements of bitcoin, in regards to Bitcoin Core 0.9.2.1 have they been working on other versions?
