Btw what did bitcointalk user bitboy suggest as I couldn't find anything from his post history because of the image proxy image error nor does dropbox give the images because of error 404 .

User bitboy proposed the Bitcoin orange logo that we all know and use today, as well as the famous "bitcoin accepted here" sign for stores. Although it is wrong to call it the official logo, I think it is safe to say that it is currently the most recognizable and most used Bitcoin logo.

You can find archived versions of his post here (including images):
https://web.archive.org/web/20130524191250/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631.0

And there is also a topic with vector versions of the logo:

So... what is the current official logo between those logos that has been presented on this thread?
Actually the word official don't fit here because the logo we are currently using as a symbol for bitcoin was designed by bitboy and the community now used it as bitcoin logo everywhere but it was not official from satoshi so we can say that it's the community who support the new logo and in future some more came and it's adopted by all it will be treated as the official logo.

Could be a number of reasons:
Yeah there could be any reasons and soetimes images are hosted for particular time period over the image hosting site which may vanish them after such time period or as you said forum doesn't allow images to be visible from some particular sites but we can always see them in archived version.

I do not know why the images are no longer available in the original post, but anyone can find them in the archived version:
Could be a number of reasons:
  • The service or the account where they were originally hosted is no longer available. The link says "dropboxusercontent.com". Maybe it's an older version of Dropbox.
  • The images are still there, but the links have changed. bitboy never posted the new ones.
  • The forum no longer allows images from that particular source similarly to how some other image hosts no longer work on Bitcointalk.

What the meaning of bitcoin logo?
I think the logo is simply the identity given to bitcoin for recognition just like any other business or product out there nothing more  Roll Eyes

Not sure how much degree the B is, I can't remember whether I have ever read this anywhere. The initial Bitcoin logo wasn't this which was later even changed by Satoshi Nakamoto into the current logo of bitcointalk forum. Later on, bitcointalk user bitboy came with the current version though his thread doesn't show the image he posted. Check here- https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/more-bitcoin-logos-buttons-and-also-some-other-graphics-1631 though you can check the original; thread here- https://web.archive.org/web/20130524191250/https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/more-bitcoin-logos-buttons-and-also-some-other-graphics-1631

1st Version

2nd Version by satoshi, is Bitcointalk logo now.

Interesting write up, so the bitcoin logo had several revisions before it got where it is today Roll Eyes, and I see version 1 and version two were all done by satoshi himself...which we so needed if you ask me, cant imagine being stuck with the BC logo  Tongue Btw what did bitcointalk user bitboy suggest as I couldn't find anything from his post history because of the image proxy image error nor does dropbox give the images because of error 404 .

What the meaning of bitcoin logo?
How much degree b exactly?
If you will refer to the logo that has a tilted bitcoin logo, it was created by bitboy, our co-user here.
You can see his post regarding this here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.19455

Since you ask how much degree it exactly, according to bitboy, it has a 14% clockwise rotation.

So... what is the current official logo between those logos that has been presented on this thread?

I suggest registering a logo patent international - https://www.wipo.int/portal/en/index.html or another copyright company
Talking about patent registration on logos, as far as I know, Bitcoin Logo is released under a public domain license, meaning that it is free to use*.

Also, just a heads up: there's no "official" Bitcoin logo.
According to this article by Cointelegraph, On November 1, 2010, bitboy a member of this forum released a new iteration of the Bitcoin logo based on Satoshi’s design. However, this time the designer chose to replace the gold coin with the iconic orange circle and tilted the “₿” logo 14% clockwise. As a result of overwhelming support from the community, bitboy’s design stands as the official logo for Bitcoin over the last 12 years.

See bitboy's post here
If no official, someone might claim the asset for personal interest, for marketing the new coin and making the popular contoversy as a fake satoshi (Craig Wright) did.

This is a nice one. The design is awesome. But the BC is not fitted with the BTC, the logo of bitcoin is very much okay and no e when the BTC is alone without any other letter. Though the orange color is very good but the attachment of the C has changed the beautification of the logo therefore, I choose the 2n version of the logo. The artistic work is nice.

Well, technically it means a well-done design job Smiley the lettering of the letter B in the style of symbols denoting real currencies, a coin... Everything at first glance suggests that we are dealing with money, albeit virtual.

But only satoshi Nakamoto knows the symbol of logos and colour of coin golden. It's the universal secret.

Not true. satoshi has written the code initially and designed 2 logos too. But the first one was including only BC in the logo as you can my first post here. Then all started here about the currency symbol which is more likely a Thai Baht symbol- https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-currency-symbol-41
Actually, logo has barely anything to do with satoshi.

This is what I know very much. I don't know where the Satoshi Nakamoto designed this and that is coming from. I think we are just stock with what has been popular enough to gain a foothold and it sticks. There isn't any much meaning attached to that other than a gold shiny coin with a big stroked B. Which I presume,

Gold colour just hinges on the nature of Gold which is attractive and valuable.
Coin remains a nature of ore money and
BTC remains the currency been referred.

There isn't anything much about these. Let the logo thing go and instead, just buy some bitcoins.

If you read the article on the link, you will find the answer to that question. Here is the reason the logo maker tilted it to a certain degree:
Very interesting to read, the knowledge I have had about logos and brand identity is that they are the simplest form of representation for a brand, company or thing. I've never really thought that even the angle of the B had a symbolic meaning. It is good to know that the creators were very intentional, they really did a great job.

If you read the article on the link, you will find the answer to that question. Here is the reason the logo maker tilted it to a certain degree:

Why rotate the B shape by 14° on the logo ?

14° came about by adding an infinite number of B’s together by dividing the previous value by 10.
12.5 + 1.25 + 0.125 + 0.0125 + 0.00125 + 0.000125 + 0.0000125 + 0.00000125 + 0.000000125 + 0.0000000125 + 0.00000000125 + 0.000000000125 …
This comes to about 13.888 repeating.
When using a drawing program that rounds the rotation angle to the closest full percent, the angle becomes 14°.

The angle represents the blockchain progressing into the future forever.

You can also read about this Bitcoin Logo at Bitcoinmagazine.com. Here's another explanation of why Logo B tilted to that degree:

For example, the number eight pops up multiple times in the dimensions and geometry of Bitcoin’s design (e.g., the B is rotated clockwise 13.88 degrees — more on this later). Per the internet language 1337, an eight resembles a B, which is short for “Block,” according to Wilson. Many of the patterns that went into creating the Bitcoin logo’s design, like the circles that eventually made up the B, contain the number eight. The dimensions of other shapes (like the rectangles in the design) had a length of 12.5 (or, one-eighth of 100, thus representing eight yet again).

Since eight is B, which stands for block in this symbology, each new pattern is like adding a new block to the logo. Everytime a shape is resized (as they were multiple times throughout the design process) this reflects the changing data size of each new block.

What the meaning of bitcoin logo?
How much degree b exactly?
What do logo means exactly? They represent something and in the bitcoin case it has the BTC symbol in orange circle with the bitcoin sign 14% tilted clockwise in the orange circle if you are asking for it and you can check the thread mentioned above to see the user who made these logos which we treat as the bitcoin logo nowadays from 12 years.

I don't think so — because while Satoshi is the inventor/founder, in the end community consensus is what decides with anything in general concerning Bitcoin, not Satoshi. Also, it's just the same reason how Bitcoin doesn't have an "official" website and "official" wallet.
The first logo Satoshi came up with was also changed after he asked for community response and there were some changes implemented then :

See he was also not declaring it as official logo although he could do it easily but the community support was his motive always. But after that bitboy dropped new logos and was accepted and liked by community so we can say them as used as official logo for bitcoin although they are kind of unofficial but community has accepted it as main one.

Things we take for granted. Actually, I didn't know before now that there was an answer to the Bitcoin logo in relation to its size. The article link you provided was apt. It's the precision on details, for me.

About the logo, the rampantly circulated one which incidentally they say is the second version is better. The "BC" one looks childish to me 🙄

You are right though I didn't like the design much to be honest. However, I don't think anyone would be using this as bitcoin logo. Bitboy's logo has got the place for Unofficial Logo of Official Bitcoin  Cheesy

Non exactly. But its quite obvious that the symbol BTC denotes its start of its word "Bitcoin" some dont mind this actually.

But its degree of importance can be feel globally since once you see that freakin symbol on different places, means its being adopted slowly.

Also, just a heads up: there's no "official" Bitcoin logo.

I think it is fair to say that the most recognizable and probably the most used Bitcoin logo is designed by member bitboy, back in 2010. This is one of the first logos that were created for Bitcoin by a community member. It is a simple design, and it has proven to be timeless.

Hi guys, just drop by to say hi and to share with you some of the graphics I have done, feel free to download. All files are in PNG format, and almost all of them with transparent background. Hope you will find them useful.

While this logo was decent in its time, it's quite dated for today's standards(gradients, slight skeuomorphism). The simple orange with white BTC is simply a lot more simple and timeless.

What the meaning of bitcoin logo?

I don't know if there's anything much to analyze as the most-recognized Bitcoin logo is literally just an orange circle with a tilted BTC.

Also, just a heads up: there's no "official" Bitcoin logo.
Official logo or not, it's not so important. More important is what image people associate with bitcoin and are already used to. I don't think it makes sense to change the logo for a new one, as it often happens with the logo of various companies after rebranding.
