Bitcoin mining doesn’t have a negative impact on the environment. Equipment manufacturers can harm nature when producing electronic components. Mining is the consumption of electricity, which if it is not used by miners, will simply disappear.

I'm still convinced that Bitcoin mining mostly uses surplus electricity that currently can't be stored and would go to waste otherwise anyway. Where else would electricity be so cheap?

That being said, I don't think people honestly care otherwise they wouldn't be so wasteful in general. IMO PoW won't receive flak for long. Yesterday it was diesel, today it's mining, tomorrow it's air traffic. Assuming Bitcoin ever comes close to superseding significant parts of the financial system, it will likely be less wasteful in terms of human, physical and energy resources than anything we currently have.

everybody knows bitcoin mining is very bad for the environment, the media often talks about it when bitcoin mentioned. we cannot escapre this problem, that is the bitcoin model. what can we do?

Why are you asking? Are you a bitcoin miner?
Almost every human activity is bad for the environment so why do you bother about crypto mining?
Just mine your bitcoins(or whatever cryptocurrency you want) and don't give a damn about the manipulated media, that serves the fiat elite.

Almost everything we do depletes our resources. Cars and machines consumes oil, factories and buildings consumes coal and electricity yet what do they do about it? These people are only good on nitpicking some faults on the system yet they don't do anything to solve it. Even before cryptocurrency mining was invented a lot of things are depleting our resources and in turn destroying our environment yet they haven't done something to counteract the problem like promoting and actually using renewable energy for a start. We know dozens of ways to produce renewable energy now, yet we are not exploiting this technology as of the present. Why are not they criticizing this instead?

Do you have a ground of evidence to support your statement? Or just saying this out of the thin air?

I would like to point out few articles to you and I sincerely request you to read those,

Article 1: https://nulltx.com/bitcoin-networks-electricity-consumption-is-lower-compared-to-printing-money/

Article 2: https://www.bitcoinmining.com/bitcoin-mining-not-a-waste-of-electricity/

I can suggest 10 more articles to you but that's just wastage of my time and energy. These two articles are enough to make you understand the fact! Thanks!

Bad due to the amount of energy it uses? Gah, other industries use lots of energy and non-biodegradable items yet we still allow it without batting an eye. Also, if given the chance, miners would surely choose cheaper and cleaner alternatives, and Chinese mining farms are great examples of that. People can express negative sentiments about the ill effects of bitcoin mining to the environment but we, as a race, are still burning fossil fuels and coal to generate electricity while cleaner, safer and cheaper alternatives already exist.

Not a hater but I say point fingers at the capitalists.

what we do must stop minning if it is considered to be harmful to the environment. we continue to trade and invest, and use bitcoin wisely. because I think bitcoin won't run out of supply even though Minner stops.

This problem has long been decided. Just need to use green energy. For example, solar cells, wind turbines, hydroelectric power stations, etc. The heat released during the landing can be used for heating greenhouses for example.

You have ripple I mean XRP, and no it's not a problem in miners, it's a problem of verification, security, truth? and that the currency can't be obtained with just typing how much bitcoins do you need. XRP does that, they have "private" nodes and they just put the amount how much they need in. When you go chop some wood, are you just texting to someone how much wood did you chop or how much wood did you actually chop? I mean here is the question of truth. I also can say, I have 6000 bitcoins, but in truth I don't have them.

The only thing that can be done about that is basically give better counterarguments to refute those claims.
Using a lot of electricity is not inherently bad for the environment, it all depends where the electricity comes from.

Instead of focusing on reducing power consumption, why not tackle the root of the problem and focus on making energy generation more environmentally friendly?

Here's an interesting article:

In essence, the Bitcoin protocol has been designed to decrease energy consumption over time. For example, in 2009 the CPU’s used to mine Bitcoins used 1 million times more energy than the current ASICs. These Bitcoin miners will continue to find ways to operate more efficiently and employ cheaper energy available to them, like hydroelectric plants and renewable energy resources.
