-snip- But then it's weird that he got p2pkh-addresses.
He most likely restored or backed-up a different seed phrase.
Also, the Android version
@mumbleman It's best if you send the funds to a new wallet with a seed that you're 100% sure that will restore the same wallet.

If OP has the seed created in Electrum then this window should not appear because the type of addresses is already encoded in the seed. But then it's weird that he got p2pkh-addresses.

Ok thanks - I managed to access the mobile app again - just hadn't updated it!

Yes the addresses start with bc1 in that - so there's a discrepancy. I'll check that setup suggestion, thanks.
If the addresses on the wallet app are starting with bc1, and the Electrum wallet in the pc is starts in 1 it means that you recover a legacy wallet, not the segwit wallet the same as in your wallet app.

You need to import your seed back up again to your Electrum PC then you must choose native segwit as the images shown below

Now it should show all of your balance from your wallet app to Electrum PC.

If you have your SEED mnemonic and you had funds and you don't see any new transactions taking money out of your wallet, your funds are still probably safe. If there are no transactions in the pc wallet as apposed to this then it could mean you've just typed the seed in wrong...

The android app itself could've faced an update and caused a problem. I got the same error when installing the wrong version of the new app so those errors could be linked... Did you see a back screen before loading it up or an error message some new libraries can be used that weren't previously)...

I've found a bunch of addresses starting with 1.
Do addresses shown in your mobile start with 1 too?
Are addresses shown in your mobile and your laptop same as each other?

You may have selected a wrong script type when importing the seed phrase.
If your addresses start with 1, you must select legacy.
If your addresses start with 3, you must select p2sh-segwit.
If your addresses start with bc1, you must select native segwit.

I've found a bunch of addresses starting with 1.

There are no transactions or anything in the wallet it's literally just blank and says 0 btc.

Before on the mobile app i had 0.0008 or similar. But no successful transactions on the app anyway so no records as such.

I just set up generic wallets each time I think.

Its highly unlikely that your application would be unusable when you use it at another place. It can't affect it across all the platforms.

Go the addresses tab and check if you can identify any of the addresses that was being used to receive Bitcoins.

How does your addresses look like? Do they start with a 1, 3 or bc1?

And do you see any transaction in your new wallet with no BTC?

Hi,

Pretty new to all of this. I had a smallish amount of bitcoin in electrum. I tried to pay for something via the mobile app but it didn't work so a week or two later I installed eletrum on my laptop and used the seed key to activate the wallet.

There's now a new wallet but it shows no btc in it.

I went back to the mobile app but it's not loading any more. It just says 'sorry something went wrong' and it wants me to submit a crash report.

Has this happened because I used the seed on a different install? Or for some other reason?

Is there any other possible reason why I can't see the bitcoin in the new wallet?

I thought it might have been stolen but I've barely left the house in months and only kept the seed as an image file on a local drive.

Suggestions would be appreciated!
