Who actually owns these sites ? Is there a way to know , if these sites are legit and not just set up for a scam ?

That's why you should do your research and only trust ones that have proved themselves over time. I have no desire of need to mix my coins but if i ever did I'd probably just go with one like bitmixer because they ahve the brand and reputation here.

Well I'm not a darknet guys (I use tor only when I wish to enter the site being redirected to www.warning.or.kr - even 4shared is banned! Tongue) so I just use bitfinex to mix my coins.

I just found this thread and realized there is something wrong with this link to my mixer. But when I click on it I see almost exactly the same site like mine only link is different.

Somebody created clone of my site! He even left there my email address so any customer complain will go to my mailbox...

This is pure SCAM!

Original link is http://m2cylfgiecnncc6f.onion also this is linked from clearweb btcmix.me.

I have announced my site here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/onions/comments/243vpk/simple_bitcoin_mixer_no_registration_needed_no/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=761358.0

Please fix OP with correct link because many users will be scammed....Sad

Thank you!

Well , its best to just stick to the reputed sites for that reason. Not worth taking the risk , incase you never end up getting the coins back.

never heard this mixing service before. and it's too hard to get information about this mixing service in search engine
where did you get that link? it does not even have an announcement thread here in bitcointalk
my advice is avoid that service for now, better to use reputable service to mixing your coin

I found it on the forum in the TOR and tried to mix on this service , all is well.

Well how does the government take action against these anonymous mixers anyways ?
And how do they even figure out it went through a mixer ?

They create their own mixers and take control over the existing ones, obviously. Just in case, such mixers are called honey-pots, and you may never know until it is too late for you.

YOu might as well use multiple mixers, then a deposit to gambling sites, and withdrawls. It will be mixed really well, just by doing that.

If you are someone like DPR, then they will probably trace each of the website and find out the information.
Best thing to do would be take it through an exchange, convert to DRK , and then to other coins..or mixxers and then come back to BTC.

what is darknet??
and from those list, which one is the best service for mixing our coin?
seems bitmixer.io is most known service, but maybe there are some service which offers better than it

Darknet = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Web It can only be accessed with a special browser like tor.

Define what you mean by best? I haven't used any but bitmixer seems to be popular and is advertised on this forum a lot with many happy customers it seems. I guess you need to be able to use one you trust.
I see. this is the first time i learn about that Smiley
so there is a special place for such activities
i think cheaper, good and simple (also fast) service and trustable for sure
yeah bitmixer invest a lot to promote their service here

Or send it to an exchange and maybe earn some profits at the same time.

...

I am going to guess, GUESS!, that using a mixer, whether via TOR or just in the open, protects almost any user from almost any threat to tracking their BTC.

Except for protection from the Big Rhino (US government), my guess is they have TOR (etc.) all figured out.

Using the mixers in the clear is enough protection for me.

I have used both bitmixer.io (highly recommended) and sharedcoin.com (latter for blockchain.info wallets only I believe) many times each.

mixing in the darknet...hmm, I don't believe if it gives more anonymity. But I suggest to use BITMIXER! Smiley

Actually, it could strip you off of anonymity. Half of the mixers there are more likely to be honey pots.

What is the advantages of using a coin mixer on the darknet over a coin mixer on its own?

Hi there, most of people who use darknet should to use mixing services to stay fully anonymous
it makes impossible to track your transactions, that`s why i decided to make this list
share other links in this topic, please

To begin with, mixing services don't make it impossible to track your transactions. Mixers do keep logs, so it would be highly risky to think you're safe in case you are engaged in some illegal activities and make use of them to cover up your traces.

Bitmixer claims that it holds no such info for their mixer. SO I doubt that.

I would doubt their claims for obvious reasons. Here is a comment from another thread allegedly made by Bitcoin Fog (another bitcoin mixer), emphasis added:

Quote
Do you keep logs?

We keep logs for 1 week for debugging and troubleshooting purposes. After that they are automatically deleted. ALL logs are taken care of. Even the bitcoin client we use is purged every week, starting with a fresh installation of only the block chain, and importing all the addresses we need at that point automatically. That way, if you have received a payment from us a month ago, not even the address will be left on our server. If any service tells you that they don't keep any logs at all, they are most probably lying, becauase when clients come asking for funds they think are missing, not having any history is like turning our backs on them and not being able to provide any support.

How long is incoming address valid for?
The generated address is valid for 12 hours only. We completely delete your order's data after 12 hours. All further payments will be ignored.

What logs are kept?
Absolutely no logs or personally identifying information are kept regarding your use of the Bitmixer service. All logs are permanently removed from both our website database and from our Bitcoin wallet after your coins have been transferred out of our reserve. All forwarding entries are removed after 12 hours.
